Many thanks to Afia Tours (www.afiatours-ghana.com/) for taking on this amazing village food day trip in Ghana (Note: I paid for this tour, it is not sponsored, but I fully recommend it - it was awesome)!
It was about a three hour drive from Accra to get to the village. The village was somewhere in the central Cape Coast region of Ghana (however no near to the coast, but much inland). The people from the village were so incredibly friendly, and it was one of the most genuinely hospitable and friendly villages I’ve ever visited. It was an honor and privilege to spend time at the village.
As we arrived, they had already started cooking some Ghanaian food specialties. One the menu, we had banku with okra soup, fufu (a staple of West African food) with palm nut soup, and finally fried plantains with beans. All the food was incredibly good, and it was one of the best bowls of fufu I ate during my entire time in Ghana.
Thanks again to Afia Tours (www.afiatours-ghana.com/) for setting this up!

Thank you Mark ‼️ We love watching your vlogs as a family. We loved seeing the interaction in this visit with the village. It reminded me of the accounts my father had during his time in Uganda.

It's natural instinct. Have you ever taken a small child to a party and told the kid to play with the other kids. Kids naturally nurture smaller children.

My 4 year old daughter came running to look when she heard the kids saying Hello hello at the school. I explained to her that they were in Ghana Africa and she said, Daddy i want to be a African child, their voices are beautiful, if i had that voice i would sing all the time like (and proceeded to sing one of her favorite songs). Im from the rural country side in Jamaica and we have Ghanaian roots so its my mission to make to Ghana in short time.

      Hi!
Are you familiar with cooking with shea butter?
I no it is possible from the research that I have done and there's a beautiful gal from Ghana that also has a TH-cam channel and once did a video about cooking with shea butter as was customary in West Africa, & the dish looked delicious too! So I just want to know if eating and using shea butter in food is exclusive to *West Africa or Ghana.*
Every authentic African restaurant or grocery store that I inquired about it, laughs in my face.
Although, they have not been from West Africa, which leads me to think, maybe cooking with shea butter is not so much a whole African thing, but maybe just an African *regional* thing.
Do you have any insight on this?
