Love the commentator, no bullshit / grand-standing / self-indulgence, just a sincere honest appreciation of a master-cover of a masterpiece song. He was really into it1 Great work.
At 4.01. Tommy sings "yeah" and he sounds SO like Freddie - incredible mimicry.
As the commentator and other people who have commented on the vid, Tommy shows huge respect and homage to the original artist, but like Mozart with Salieri's welcome March (Amadeus movie) , Tommy as a true genius can't help improving on it just a tad.

All of Tommy’s covers are a tribute to the original artist while also putting his own spin on them. That is supreme talent. 💕
This song Brian May wrote about his own life, when his first marriage was falling apart. The song was recorded by Queen for the album The Miracle, but it didn't end up on the album, so Brian May recorded it and released on his solo album Back To The Light. Queen version was released in 1996. All versions, including Tommy's, are absolutely beautiful, but Brian's feels most emotional and personal, since it's about his own life problems. Doesn't take anything from Freddie's and Tommy's version and I love all of them. I hope Brian will see Tommy's version, I'm sure he'd love it, he truly did it justice. Thanks David, hope you are well

To be honest it seems to carry on from the Farewell to Sabaton video, very emotional and somehow reflecting the turmoil Tommy felt in making the decision to leave the band. I know its original meaning wasn't that but it somehow feels like it to me now in Tommy's rendition of this wonderful Queen song.

As I mentioned in he other video. The song is written by Queen guitarist Brian May, Queen recorded it too but never released it. Brian then played it at the tribute concert
in 1992 and also included his version on his 1992 solo album Back to the light. Tommy's version? 5 of 5, Tommy really did a fantastic job with this one. So technically this
is a Brian May solo song and his version is the most known imo.

ABBAMAN... Tommy did admirable sincere cover of this excellent Queen song. Previously in your reaction to the original. I mentioned if Brian had written a song about Freddie but another commenter told me that the song was about the love for his wife. When a song can be interpreted many ways shows the depths a song can take in different directions. In this case Freddie sang the song and applied it to his life situation. I'm sure Brian was very pleased with Freddie 's cover. If interested Brian has his own version if you would ever want to hear it

Thanks again for this... Yes, TJ certainly did do this song justice... not easy for any ordinary singer... maybe you should listen to Brian's version... or the live version that Brian sang at the tribute concert... both are certainly worth your time... blessings.
Good to see u GT 👍there is another version of the song it was originally done by Brian May on his "back to the light " album as an acoustic and the emotion he brings when he sings is phenomenal and when they re-recorded it for the "made in heaven " album it went from ballad too the ultimate power ballad every time I hear the solo I get goosebump just that baleful howl from Brian May's red special is incredible and now I get them from Tommy's phenomenal tribute not just to Freddie in the power and emotion in his vocals but to the whole band with just the energy he brings and his commitment to them 👍and Brian's original is definitely worth a listen good to see you back my friend have fantastic one stay safe take care all the very best from Scotland to you 👍👊

I'm a huge queen fan, and I always say nothing comes close to Freddy. Having said that, Tommy never disappoints either.... I think he absolutely knocked this out of the ball park, he's managed to keep the true spirit of the record in tact, yet pour some of his own soul in it. (By the way, can we get a 'hell yeah' for that guitar solo!?) I had goosebumps from my neck down to my ankles from start to finish. Somewhere, out there, on a cloud, Freddy is probably smiling.
