SISTER SLEDGE - He's the greatest dancer
Never heard of this band either before. This song is from 1979 and could pass for an 80s song aswell. It sounds like a mix of the 70s and 80s. It's a funky disco song with a nice touch.
Unfortunately, it didn't do it for me completely, I feel that there is something missing here. I don't know what it is. Its good, yet not great. But not bad either.
SISTER SLEDGE are sisters and from the USA.
Thank you to my Patrons who requested this one!

SSledge was on the radio non stop with We Are Family. Greatest Dancer was a runner up to that massive hit. And yes she was the lead, with that raspy voice. I was in my teens at the time and was so bummed that I wasn’t old enough to get in the discos (21 in California). When I finally reached 21 no one wanted to go, it had started to fade. I got my chance once again in 1999 when a LA club started up a Disco Saturday Night event every week. I wore out my 40-something feet and never missed a Saturday, dressing up and showing them how it used to be!
Sister Sledge!! So glad you get to hear some American disco/funk. Very different than Europe.
Hello David, these are the famous years of nightclubs, Daiana Ross style, I danced a lot in my youth, 43 years ago, do the math David! Time passes quickly.😆Detail, at that time I was 18 years old.☺️
Incredible! 😁
ABBAMAN...Sister Sledge had another huge hit that you might have heard called we are family both of these songs are big hits back when the Disco craze hit. What songs are still popular today especially we are family what you might want to react to later on😊
Ohh I see! I have actually heard that song! Didnt know it was them though 😁
like all tracks from the CHIC organisation, it is THE BEST OF THE BEST!
Sister Sledge had more than one song? 😆 This is definitely the only time I've heard one of their songs that wasn't "that one". Like you, I really like this... that kind of funky disco baseline is so cool. It's not as special as a Donna Summer track, or Chic, but it's catchy and fun, and I'd want to hear more! Thanks Given Toe and whichever of your Patreons requested this. 👑🕺
Chic produced Sister Sledge. They had many hits: Apart from this one: Lost In Music, We Are Family, All American Girls.....
I loooooove this song and the sound created by Chic.
Will Smith used this sampler for one of his hits.
Yeah, I recognize this kind of music style from de 70's. Didn't know this specific song but the sound is familiar. Thank you bro!
Hello David, Sister Sledge are touring as we speak...Unfortunately, Joni, the eldest passed away in 2017 of natural causes...
" We are family" was a bigger hit for them ( featuring in a hilarious scene of The Birdcage). Love that movie but l digress! 😊
" Oh...What...Wow!
He's the greatest dancer"
Don't write them like that anymore!
Still, it got my toes tapping!
Have a wonderful break...( no chloroform l trust?! ) 😂
Ciao bello! 😊
Hahah Chloroform 🤣🤣🤣
.
👍 🇸🇪 GIVENTOE 🇸🇪.👍
Fantastic dance music from sister sledge written by the legendary guitarist Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards bassist, Who are also part of the Chic ensemble…try listening to Le Freak by Chic another funky disco classic from 70s. Hey David you are one crazy dude but these attributes are great-)) I really enjoy watching your reactions 🤘stay cool🥴
I danced to this several times!
The outstanding bass guitarist was the late Bernard Edwards.
Denna spelades en hel del på den tiden men personligen är detta en av dom sämsta disco låtarna, gillade aldrig den.
Thought you had stopped your patreon as I was a member for quite sometime, if it's still going on I'll rejoin
I have, these are me going through all old requests, I will tell you when to rejoin 🙏🏻😊
They are not bad, but there is something about American music that just doesn't do it for me. I find this song monotone and boring a bit. I am guessing that the reason why you didn't like it as much is for the similar reasons.
