From a character perspective, refer to the conversation between Kelpie and Mermaid. Also, she's cute.
Her and Cleopatra have become so iconic in this game that she's for sure going to be a staple in upcoming games. That was my one critique of SMT, that they constantly kept recycling demons that weren't even iconic so it made for slightly boring games where you were never surprised by demons that weren't bosses. I feel like this game did a really iconic way of introducing some new demons that will make it down as fan faves for years!

I beat the game on Hard, the first 5 hours would be impossible without heavy grind, but Alice and Idun carried me to the True ending no problem so only female harem party is doable.
The designs of the SMTV debut characters are absolutely top notch

Put aside the wife thing, Iddun is a very strong healer/support, and you can get her pretty early.
Her Golden Apple spell despite costing so much MP has saved me quite a few times thanks to the added buffs it gives.

If you feed her healing sutras the mo cost goes down and you can give her mp increasing skills as well as mp intenses
