Anyway, from my experience, gen z metalheads seem to respect Cannibals even more than millenials. There was some time where they were seen as an uncool death metal band, too mainstream. These days I don't see that opinion very often.

I've never really liked nick nocturnal. call me a dummy, but I don't consider metalcore to be metal. I consider it to be more bastardized emo music, and I feel like the only thing nick nocturnal talks about is metal core, so i can't really take him seriously when he's talking about actual metal. Thing is though, the bad faith news media isn't quite exclusive here as gaming news is rife with it from all sides. A big gang bang of half-truths and manipulation.
