I work on an old military installation. There’s old homes that have secret stair wells for maids. And secret bathrooms. To keep the service people and the military personal that lived there separate
@UCq0cqWdvhIbvjs61bOCZtIA your response gave the impression that he knows nothing about older homes & the fact that maids had separate areas from the wealthy people living in a home. But he mentions in the video more than once that the secret area would've been for the maids & that the design in that area was more cheaply made as they were not "higher class". I just simply thought you didnt want the whole video based on your comment because he very clearly talks about it the secret entrance area for a good few minutes.
This makes me kind of sad, that this beautiful house is just left and no one is taking care of it...I really hope some one will restore it some day. I would love to live in a house like that..
Also there are signs that someone is trying to take care of it "bathroom smells bad", "paint found in rooms", "rooms were messed around with", I think someone was slowly trying to fix this place up.

Sad history of that place. Never seen a mansion with stuff in it and mint at the same time. That's rare. I would definitely restore that mansion if I was billionaire.
Josh: This house was built in 1896. The ppl that lived here were French. They had a daughter. The daughter who lived here got pregnant. Her kid was kidnapped & taken to another county. She flew to there to get her kid back...She's STILL living there to this day!! Me: WTF??? How OLD is she?? 😳
Exactly and how could anybody else could buy it. And everything is there when some of the things don’t look that old I don’t believe that mansion had only one owner
Josh 5:44 that is a movie reel it plays home movies on it and or movies it was the old way of playing movies. 8:16 that room is either a smoking room or a gathering room for people when they come over just to chat that would be the place they would be taken to. 9:39 That would be a gathering room for the men women are welcome to be with their husbands. But it does not stop there, single men are also welcome, the little room on the side is for the single girls usually the single girl of the family that owns the home sits in there just enough for the single men to check her out and see if she is one that would want to be married to. That is how it was back in the day. 11:09 That is a glass of wine Josh still in the wine glass french love their wines. 11:46 ok the fireplaces in each room were to keep things warm they did not have electric heating so to keep warm they had fireplaces. 18:49 Josh if it has a piano it is a ballroom just saying back in those times it would be a ballroom where they would have guests over and a place to dance. Josh, I grew up on history not just in school but also during my summer holidays this stuff is in my memories forever now lol.
@MJ He may not be super educated in these historical practices, or knowledgeable in the old art and culture doesn't make him a waste to watch. He's still adventurous with a thirst to experience and learn. Just needs a good history buff with him to explain the less well known old practices and architecture. I love his videos, and this is from a person with a degree in art history and modern design.

that was an amazing place for sure and such a sad story for that mother to have to go to another country for her child. Shows ya mothers will do anything for there children
these old buildings are so pretty! i wish people put more time into buildings instead of the copy-paste town houses. when i get enough money i'm gonna build a home and make it like they used to. pretty and detailed and beautiful
The thing with the wheel on it sitting on the floor is a reel-to-reel tape recorder. I believe the size of the reel is ten inches. The reels were 2 sided, so you could flip the take-up reel and play the other side, like a cassette. Did you know that you missed the attic? In the room with the door that was angled on the top, I could see that the doorway to the left went to a staircase that went up, turned right, and made the part of the cieling that caused the angle on the door. Great house. Wish I could buy it and fix it up, starting with a new roof.
I have a house in my town built in 1832 and in the top floor bedroom is a closet door. Inside the closet is another door that leads to what appears to be just attic storage. I shined my flashlight to look and there was a fully furnished room hidden there. The only way in was the way I mentioned, had wall paper, electrical outlets, everything. At the entrance of the room was an electric button hanging down. I talked to the neighbor and apparently the guy who owned it disappeared 5 years ago. I assume the house was part of the underground rail road and slaves trying to escape once stayed there. Or the guy is a serial killer
Wowww that place is absolutely stunning the architecture, the woodmade decoration, the stairs, the painted ceiling, the fire places, that dining room table ohhh everything is a unique masterpiece, I would love that to be my house!! '

I've seen the turning kitchen shelf before in a historical landmark house. In the house I saw, the turning shelf was between the kitchen and the dining room. So cooks/servants could put food in it and rotate it so that the servants in the dining room could grab the food and serve it.

Sad history of that place. Never seen a mansion with stuff in it and mint at the same time. That's rare. I would definitely restore that mansion if I was billionaire.
Hi, you should go to Namibia, there's abodoned mining towns.
Oh yes that would be brilliant.
Did you watch wonderhussy explore that mining town in Namibia?
@@sharimc72 will do now!
To scary ......country ?
That assassin's Creed brotherhood intro in that best room was really dope.... that totally suited it's vibes ❤️
I can already tell this will be sick omg
french architects👍💥

Josh: This house was built in 1896. The ppl that lived here were French. They had a daughter. The daughter who lived here got pregnant. Her kid was kidnapped & taken to another county. She flew to there to get her kid back...She's STILL living there to this day!!
Me: WTF??? How OLD is she?? 😳
😂😂😂 you caught that too huh? 😊
@@blanning2058 I could NOT stop laughing & had to replay it 5 times to make sure I heard correctly. 🤣😂
He was on caffeine and on an empty stomach while making this video, he wasn't thinking straight lol
Exactly and how could anybody else could buy it. And everything is there when some of the things don’t look that old I don’t believe that mansion had only one owner
He didn’t show where the maid stayed at like her bedroom
Bedroom in attics
Maid bedroom was not showed
At about 14:00 he does
He didn’t show it I was sad
This video shows it th-cam.com/video/KbuTXboguk4/w-d-xo.html
EWJ best explorer on TH-cam hands down!!!
Josh how can I find out how to preserve this place!? I work for some people who have the ability to restore this or even purchase this if needed. I can't say their names or much on here so if there is a way to do this let me know. They also loved your video and what your doing. Never seen 50 to 60 old men watch a video so intently lol. Great job and if I can get a hold of you about this somehow please let me know. Thanks and stay safe.
Danny Shadle maybe try emailing him or in his social media.
I really hope you can get that mansion restore. I hate seeing a mansion that was once so gorgeous looking. That now sits abandon and fall in to ruin.
If they have the ability to repair this place I'm sure they have the ability to find it.
Ray Ray how do you think that works?
Ray Ray found it 😃

Josh: exploring an abandoned mansion
The power is always still on in all of these abandoned places. Should I stop paying for electricity?
''this is exploring with josh, ofcourse we have to explore everything!''
*Skips awesome bathroom*
this video started it all for me like this was the first video l watched on your channel and then l started watching sam and colby and then yall collaborated or whatever and yall saved my life and healed me and l just wanna thank you josh for everything and you guys are the only reason why I'm here
that was an amazing place for sure and such a sad story for that mother to have to go to another country for her child. Shows ya mothers will do anything for there children
Is it just me, or is this little crew a fave? I know Josh goes in groups with others but THIS is probably my fave. I love these guys together.
these old buildings are so pretty! i wish people put more time into buildings instead of the copy-paste town houses. when i get enough money i'm gonna build a home and make it like they used to. pretty and detailed and beautiful
The wall paper of the secret Bathroom corridor looked pristine. Smell or not, I'd have gone to see that sh*t.
Pun intended.
So this one has to be my favorite! Thank you.😊
That thing is called a “ reel to reel “ audio recorder
The door into little reading room and the reading room is my favourite part. I’d spend all my time in there with a fire going, curled up with a book!
5:50 ReVox tape recorder. Commercial quality audio from early 1970s.
Wow...did you already know that...or did you just check internet?
Either way...good job!
That thing is worth a grand
😳 wow...wat about the 🧊 📦 in that secret room
@@oliben121 brand new, they were more than that.
@@k-man7752 I'm 61. I was there... My brother in law had one.
Just love your videos man. You inspired us over 2 years ago to make a TH-cam channel Exploring Abandoned and creepy places You did a indoor water park here in Indiana the same week we did a video there 2 years ago. I hope to one day meet you. Thank you for inspiring us to make a TH-cam channel. Theres not enough hours in the day for adventure 😎
You missed a secret room!!! At 9:01 when you were saying one last look.. there is a hidden door in the wall on the stairway... not kidding!!
Oh never mind the lady with you went in... lol...
Haunted Ramblings do u know her channel?
Hi josh it’s Ann fabulous beautiful home ,I bet in it’s day it would of been lovely ,some furniture, you can imagine the family living their .thank you josh for taking us around with you stay safe love Ann xx
New drinking game, everytime josh says DOPE.
I love the videos of the houses and mansions you do because it's so personal! It's just really sad when you come across all their personal stuff especially the photos! Can't believe people just leave without this stuff! It's not like they have a USB to download them again, puts a lot of questions in your head! Maybe you should try and find relatives to further your investigations, maybe they would like their stuff back! Reminds me of the doctors house you did with the photos and love letters and the photos! Really sad it's just discarded as this is their personal history!
Realtor:so sir we have a beautiful mansion by the sea with mountain top views (Josh starts grunting)
Realtor:so we have a worst beaten down mansion with secret doors and full of mould (starts giggling and dancing like a school girl)
Josh, I woke up with that eerie feeling 🌫️☁️. (The good kind). Been researching cabin in the woods getaways all morning and then you upload a vid! Couldn't get any better for a Sunday. 🖤
Why do u watch than?
I wonder if anyone ever watches these videos and is like "oh hey that was my old house" 🙄😂
this might be the prettiest abandon mansion ive ever seen. so much lovely art and the paint on the wqlls are amazing! id love to live there. completely mint....so glad atleast at the time you filmed this it wasnt vandalized and destroyed....
“You guys are nasty” took me out LMAO
Its so sad to see a place like that just wasting away. I hope someone buys it. Is so beautiful. Thanks Josh for sharing this place!
What’s the lady’s name? I’m dying to know more!
Same
Wow mate. What an amazing shot of the bike @14:12 through the window. That was absolutely incredible love the videos.
I need to know where this mansion is! Would love to go explore and see the beautiful art work!
I've seen the turning kitchen shelf before in a historical landmark house. In the house I saw, the turning shelf was between the kitchen and the dining room. So cooks/servants could put food in it and rotate it so that the servants in the dining room could grab the food and serve it.
We love u Josh keep it up....
I WANT that place, it’s GORGEOUS!!! It is definitely my dream house, so much beautiful details and charm. Something you definitely don’t see anymore.
Josh: there's maggots in it
Me straight away: ew
This place is amazing,I'll never understand why people leave everything behind..If they didn't want it then donate it...don't leave it to be destroyed......I will say that is one beautiful place...the ceiling paintings, the wood through out the place all just amazing...
My favorite. If I was rich I'd be moving and restoring.
Hey Josh, I discovered your channel over the weekend and been binge watching ever since. You most definitely got yourself a new subscriber! Thank you for this awesome content! Your channel is one of my favorites now so I'm looking forward to new videos and continuing to watch your past ones too.
I wish you would have plugged your nose and went into that secret bathroom 😒
And not called the other people nasty for wanting to explore it
Yea that was rude!!
Been binge watching Exploring with Josh for like a week now. Missing a lot of his videos.
If that manshion was mine i would, wear long, beautiful, expensive, dresses, Drink expensive wine, and play the piano like moon
I like it when boys respect the color pink, not be disrespectful about it. I'm telling the truth, for years I've been watching you and _every_ single time I watch you, there is not one thought of hate, I enjoy every video from you. I love you and your channel so much I sometimes...Not fear but similar, that you won't have any more to explore and the channel will be discontinued...Thank you. Really, thank you!
Would be cool if you got to explore: the Los Feliz Murder Mansion.
Did you just say there was tea inside a wine glass? I doubt it XD
Also I think it’s weird that the power is on, in other countries if you don’t pay your bills the power gets shut down
I can assure you if the powers on, someone is paying for it.
I really do wish someone would restore this beauty, thank you for this
Dang, this is the earliest I've ever been! Excited to watch.
Josh, yo man, the dragon comic books were at the time, just as you mentioned, Bru. It used to be like the earliest version of a D&D spin-off. They're actually very rare.
Everytime he said dope I took a shot of moonshine
You might need to go to the hospital now 😂
