    Your drone shots were great Jerry! Dawson City looks amazing and I would love to visit there someday. Those steamboat wrecks were hauntedly cool, if they could only talk . Take care my friend and catch you on your next one.

    Thanks for bringing us along again on your Yukon adventure. Interesting to see some changes there since your last trip. I’m sure you could spend weeks there to tour around and see everything there is to see

    Another excellent video, the dredge tailing piles are impressive. I wonder how many yards of material it moved to get all that gold.

      That’s a good question, I wonder how much 300000 ounces of gold would look like In bricks today

    Those dredges are so cool. Pretty amazing engineering and processes there. Unbelievable they were able to get all that shit so far into nowhere. I guess the opportunity for riches can make a man resourceful.

    It's amazing to think how much gold mining has changed since the early gold rush in the 1800's to today. Also, how mild the weather seems to be during summer, and how cold and hostile it is during winter. At the current price for gold ($2500/oz), that 300,000 ounces would be $750,000,000.00 US. That is a LOT of money! But I"ll bet operating costs are through the roof too...

    • @BackCountryWrenching
      @BackCountryWrenching  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's hard to say what the opterating costs where, breakdowns were most likely a big issue as you just couldn't get overnight parts

    all those gold mine workers must have become super rich.

      If you are talking about the miners that worked the dredges, they actually weren’t paid well.

      That’s awesome, quite the operation you got going. A friend has claim in the area as well but we didn’t get a chance to meet up with the roads being closed in June because of the forest fires
