@@CharlieFerer visibly, they are quite different. 83 should have white tank and blue seat where the 82.5 has silver tank and black seat. But VIN are different. 82.5 vin starts with CN19xxx and 83 are CO1xxx. There are a bunch of little differences too but those are the basics. The 82.5 was a first year/ limited production for the husky cr500. Only around 500-530 built with about 300 sent to the US. Also known as the “silver streak”.
@@CharlieFerer it's highly sort after in the Husky community, and is sort like the Husky version of the 81 Maico 490. Awesome Bike, and you have an Awesome collection.

I have a question for you. I had both of my legs amputated and I need ideas to set up my bike. I bought a 1998 xr70r in 2003 to make a pit bike. I had my lower back fused and I gave up the bike. Losing my legs I’ve decided to start making it. I can’t shift or use my back brake. Is there a way to put a hand brake for my rear brake? And my shifter is another problem to solve. It’s automatic and I bought a heel toe shifter and a 18”hand shifter so any thoughts? I’ve always wanted this bike and I had my first 1968 z50 until I sold it. Then I bought 2 ct70’s one with a clutch and one automatic. I also had xr75, Kawasaki 175, so I know how to ride till now. I only need idea’s please.
Hello! I have never built a bike for your injury but let me look online. I know several celebrity type riders that have them in the same required set up like you. They would be the ones to ask that have the experience with them. Let me see what I can find.
Ok found a TH-camr and his channel is super chairing! Check out his page and his build. I would reach out to him. Let me know if this helps. th-cam.com/video/3_12lkl-hVA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=tZWf3l2X_8O_TcrK
Just thinking out loud here man because I am a life long moto guy and have always admired those who ride through adversities. You guys are heroic to me. You listed some bikes you’ve owned or own and it made me wonder if bikes like the klx125, ttr125, or even crf150 are ideal in size for you. I think converting to a handlebar mounted rear brake is certainly feasible, and I wonder if a rekluse clutch would omit the need for any clutch work for you. I totally think you’re on track with the 18” hand shifter and I wonder if you could take it further with a cable driven system with enough leverage mechanisms in place to allow you to operate a type of push-pull lever mounted along side a handlebar mounted rear brake. It would just be awesome if you could shift with somewhat of a hold on the handlebar, while not having to manage a clutch. I rode with a rekluse once and it would idle in gear with the clutch lever out. (Crf450 if I remember right) impossible to stall in the corners. Anyway,…thought I’d share, and definitely wish you the best in your journey to make things work out on your efforts to ride. P.s. I think the Yamaha ttr 125 is available with electric start.
Hey Charlie, BIG Honda Guy here (I BLEED RED LoL !!!) I'm Mostly into 125's Especially the 90/97 HPP 6 speeds although I have owned/raced just about Everything since 79 on up. I have a Fondness as well for CR/KX 500's. I noticed you skipped over one of your Honda's on the way down the line to The Peak 500. It looks like maybe a 97 CR 1-800 Collect Replica ??? Just Curious, looking forward to following your videos ;)
Right on David! Honda is by far the easiest to get parts and work on and I feel the most competitive bike to race for vintage/EVO bikes. Yes, I will be touching on that Jeremy McGrath replica CR 250 build in a future video. Bike has not been ridden since completion. All graphics and seat are from Throttle Syndicate.
@@CharlieFerer Nah, Suzukis are the easiest to work on, (at least old ones). But Honda’s are definitely solid, classic and beautiful. My very first bike was a used TM125 and came in a box of parts. I had to rebuild it without a manual or any help. I actually figured it out and rode it for a year until I could afford a RM125. Getting a first bike like that turned out to be a blessing, although that TM was junk by that point. I’m just old enough to remember when CZs, Bull Tacos, Huskis, Can Ams and Montesas ruled the tracks. Especially the CZs.
I love the 87 bikes but focus more on 1986 year and older because you can race those in D1 (front disc only 1984-1986,) GP3 (non drum brake 1981-1983), and the older classes. There is not a class for front and rear disc for older/vintage racing classes and that is where the demand is for these bikes.
Nice! Don’t sell off too many RMs, (although I like the ‘78s more than the ‘79/‘80 RMs). Actually, why no late ‘70s bikes? Is it because they are air cooled and have horrible stock suspension? Or is it because only Yamaha and Suzuki were really making competitive bikes? By ‘78 Honda and Kawasaki had finally gotten their act together. I can t remember the first year of the uni-shock KX, I think it was ‘78. I used to own and ride a 1978 CR250, (the Elsinore with Fox air shocks!). It was a classic at the time and a beautiful all red bike. I also had a 1978 RM125, (also a winner at the track and my favorite bike from that era). Cheers, great collection. Beautiful KTMs, btw. Subbed.
@CharlieFerer lucky for you. I think in this case we can use the word passion and addiction interchangeably...... keep it up. It falls to us to keep these old machines alive

You can be where I am today as well by working hard/smart and taking the leap and starting two companies and making the companies and your team successful 👍🏼
I would just want a nice CR 125 250 or 500 to ride on grass and open fields not for racing. Can you please give me a round about price maybe you would charge for a bike of that sort. It don't have to be pristine.
All my bikes are like new/pristine. I would go on Facebook marketplace and or google what you are looking for and you will see pricing vary based on condition.
There is a reason, because I have two 1983 CR 489’s that I feel are a way better bike than the 1982. For resale value the 1981 CR 450 is very rare so a great collector bike. The 1983 CR 250 are worth more money than the 1982 so I would want to collect and race the better of the two years. Now, the 1984 is the one to have as the last year of the air cooled. Some reasons why the 1983 is a superior bike over the 1982: The 1983 is redesigned and a better ergo bike for rider. The 1981 was one of the worst Honda builds and least reliable. The 1982 was a little better. Because of this Honda for 1983 redesigned everything and even the motor is now completely reliable and now has a better transmission with 5 speed. The front brake has a lot better stopping power with a dual leading shoe. They also improved the front forks besides the forks being a larger diameter. Shock has new linkage and more adjustable. Also cool for 1983 is the removable sub frame. The rear brake was redesigned for better pull in as well to the brake shoes. The 1983 is one of the most reliable air cooled bikes Honda manufactured. In my eyes you can not compare the 1981 and 1982 model even though they look alike. Remember for vintage racing this class is 1981-1983 and you want to be in the 1983.
Haahaa yes I do. I have ten bikes I ride/race. The others are investment bikes. I work on the bikes every Wednesday night. The race cars we do simple repairs on but the big things we have a mechanic do or for the Evo2 the race team does. Motor work I send out to Factory Edge because I trust his work more than mine and I have only so many hours after work to do things.
What you see is a passion for a sport I have loved since the age of ten. It is a part of me. I am an adrenaline junky with all things two and four wheels wheels that are fast and give me an adrenaline rush. Some normal people living a normal life do not get it because they do not have fuel running in their veins. Motorcross or dirt bike riding is not the smartest sport. I agree, I am just recovering from an accident. But I would rather live and die doing what I love than be a sheep and do nothing. All my friends that have the same passion convinced me to start a TH-cam channel to share it with others that have the same passion. It is okay for you to hate on having a collection thinking it is an ego thing. Definition of a hater - a negative or critical person = Boll Weevil
LOL, no I have worked for everything I earned including my first dirt bike, car, etc. Anyone can be where I am today by working smart and working their ass off. Still working my ass off running two companies.

Awesome ❗ cool collection Sir ✅
Beautiful collection bro..more of an art collection👍. I've had the pleasure of riding a good number of these machines, and truly are the grassroots of moto. All significant in there own right.

Amazing collection! Is that an 82.5 Husqvarna cr500 I see? I’m currently restoring one now! Nice to see another one out there
Hey Zack! I do not know the difference between an 82.5 and 83. It is an 83 CR 500. What is the difference?
@@CharlieFerer visibly, they are quite different. 83 should have white tank and blue seat where the 82.5 has silver tank and black seat. But VIN are different. 82.5 vin starts with CN19xxx and 83 are CO1xxx. There are a bunch of little differences too but those are the basics. The 82.5 was a first year/ limited production for the husky cr500. Only around 500-530 built with about 300 sent to the US. Also known as the “silver streak”.
@@zackb250 Very cool! Thank you for the explanation! I did not know that!

That Husky is a cool build indeed.
@@CharlieFerer it's highly sort after in the Husky community, and is sort like the Husky version of the 81 Maico 490. Awesome Bike, and you have an Awesome collection.

Really nice bikes
Thank you 🙏🏻
i would think you have like 2 million subs with that huge collection.
I wish 😂😂. I really enjoy sharing the bikes and car content so if the subs do not ever increase I am fine with that. I have met a lot of great people that have become friends from TH-cam so it is all worth it.

@@CharlieFerer ok I just followed him and liked first video. Thank you for replying because most don’t. Thank you again.
Amazing!
Wow u truly are blessed! God is good!
Thank you and agree!
@@SteveSteeleSoundSymphony very cool. My second bike was a 1982 RM 125…
@@CharlieFerer Good luck with your back, btw. I’m having the same problem. Foot started going numb a year ago.
@@SteveSteeleSoundSymphony have you done any MRI or X-rays?
Amazing brother
Where are 87’s
I love the 87 bikes but focus more on 1986 year and older because you can race those in D1 (front disc only 1984-1986,) GP3 (non drum brake 1981-1983), and the older classes. There is not a class for front and rear disc for older/vintage racing classes and that is where the demand is for these bikes.
This guy is either not married or he has the coolest wife ever
😂😂 I would agree with you…not married and not going to marry someone that would tell me what I can or can’t do.
His boyfriends name is Twostroke!
Or gay 😂
How come you got so much money to have that??
He's not Gay. There's Coors Light stickers on bikes and not Bud Light stickers 😅
Subbed.

I couldnt even afford to have that many stands let alone bikes
Yes, a lot of bikes stands lol 😂
CR’s that is?
I definitely have more CR’s than any other bikes.
I may add some 87’s. Have to find the right ones…
Can't belive he don't have a 1982 CR480
There is a reason, because I have two 1983 CR 489’s that I feel are a way better bike than the 1982. For resale value the 1981 CR 450 is very rare so a great collector bike. The 1983 CR 250 are worth more money than the 1982 so I would want to collect and race the better of the two years. Now, the 1984 is the one to have as the last year of the air cooled.
Some reasons why the 1983 is a superior bike over the 1982:
The 1983 is redesigned and a better ergo bike for rider.
Why the heck would you pass by the most important bike to McGrath replica what the hell is going on
Does this guy actually ever spin wrenches in his fancy garage? Seems like every bike & car was built by anyone but him.
Stuff & things to prop up egos
How many times can you say Ummm in 10 min? 😂😂😂
Haahaa 😂 seriously really bad habit of mine when doing these off the cuff with no editing.
