Remember when Billie first appeared in season 11? The song she was singing in the hospital was also the one that was playing during Julian Richings' Death's entrance scene in season 5. One of my favorite foreshadowings ever.
Honestly if it wasn’t for Sam I’d think Dean would just off himself, he just so done with it all. When Bille told him he had a purpose he truly looked like he could care less, Dean in the past would’ve found that motivating
In the past whenever Dean was this depressed he’d focus his efforts on the big bad but there isn’t one now (okay theirs Asmodeus but let’s be real theirs nothing threatening about KFC) and now that he’s over his issues with Jack he’s just left with his thought and doesn’t know/believe things can get better, that he can change anything. It really sad, thank God Cas came back cause I truly don’t know how or if Sam to raise Dean up from that deep
This episode gave me chills when Dean was talking to death haha. The end was sooo good. I am happy for Dean. He deserves to have Cass back, they all do and Cass must be so relieved! Thank god well not really hahaha 😂
Thanatology is the scientific study of death and the losses brought about as a result. It investigates the mechanisms and forensic aspects of death, such as bodily changes that accompany death and the postmortem period, as well as wider psychological and social aspects related to death.
When Sam was telling Dean about going to the strip club and Dean was asking him what was up with him and Sam was like "You know," I swear you and Dean made the same face at the same moment! Literally made me LOL
I feel like the deep, deep depression Dean is in right now was so well done by Jensen. Hopelessness is just written all over Dean's face, and you can see when he just gives up. He stops caring. And when Dean stops caring...And that last scene? Sigh. And I will say that I don't think Billie hates the Winchesters. I think she's just very strict and by the book, and the boys have always played fast and loose with the rules.
This episode is one of my most dean kinnie episode which probably says too much about me but I just love this episode so much + the books were such a great add!
OK the easiest way to explain it is God (Chuck) is light and Amara is darkness. When monsters die, they go to purgatory to hunt each other for eternity. When angels die, they go to the empty to sleep for eternity.

Cas is back in town! Dean suffers so much and at that point where he's given up, seeing Sam trying to ease it, being scared about it is so cute.

That scene between Dean and Billie always gets me, let alone the ending..
Amara is "The Darkness" ... the Empty is more like "nothingness" in my opinion... if that makes sense
Dean… suicidal. Cas is back - Dean is a happy sunshine (even though Mary and others are still gone).

Sam having no damn clue what's wrong with Dean though, meanwhile Dean's legit in a widow like state and def a little... uuuh death-wishy
Replying to add, can't wait to see your reaction to the uh.. mood change.
When the Terminator shades come out you *know* he's in pain.
I bawled my eyes out when he finally got his win.

Cass' question in season 8 was, "When a monster dies in monster heaven, where does it go?"
I found Sam’s attempts to cheer Dean up to cute and hilarious
Especially that stripper suggestion
I can't say it enough but I love fan girl shelley
