    After 6 months of having these amps in my system, I've been really happy with the power and performance they provide to my speakers.

    Agree I have 2 ch Purify based Buckeye and it sounds absolutely fantastic. High-end fully transparent sound on a budget. Audiophile nirvana, for those looking for flat response, without any character or artificial coloration.

    I have 1723 towers I’d like monos of this amplifier, sounds like a great combo.

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      That monoblock does 250w @ 8ohm, 500w @ 4ohm, and 950w @ 2ohm. The 1723 towers have a recommended amp of 500w @ 4ohm so that sounds like it would be a good combo for sure.

      I have the 1723 THX towers and am going to get these monos to replace my Emotiva XPA-5

      Nice! Are you going to go with the 1ET400A or the 1ET7040SA?

    What is Dylan recommending now for the xlr to rca cable?

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the ones the Dylan suggests are the Blue Jeans versions but he stated that his customers have used other brands with success too.

    Thanks for the great review! I was heavily considering the Emotiva XPA HC-1 monoblocks despite their higher pricing, until I saw their measurements and customer feedback on issues with reliability. Class D looks much more viable these days in the budget amp camp!

      Yeah, I'm still using them every day and during dedicated movie watching I turn them up so for me I still enjoy them.

      Appreciate you checking out the video. I’ve done some demos in the past but I haven’t done one lately with the current setup. Will try to do something like that soon. Here is that playlist and the Dolby demos at least have the first Buckeye. th-cam.com/play/PLxvo8U2HaJJqtpAQW0FDLs0Tc7JbHkPc9.html&si=0RfUbEUggQ0z9hUj

    What are your thoughts on the purifi/ncx modules versus the nc502? Do you think it was worth the extra cost?

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You know I don't know that it was. I had the opportunity to hear another person's home theater that was using the nc502s and it sounded great! I haven't done a direct comparison so can't say 100% but after listening to that other theater I didn't feel like anything was lacking. Even Dylan at Buckeyes said that they are very comparable.

      @@RandomDistractionsYT It feels like I’m missing out on “cleaner sound” but I’m insure if I’ll even be able to hear the difference

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Sly_Kaw Oh, I see. What are you currently using to power your system? If it was like me when I was using my receiver and went to just the inexpensive Emotiva BasX series I noticed a difference in how "clean" it sounded at louder or reference levels. When I switched to the Buckeyes the "clean" sound was at reference levels and at more than my ears could handle. Another way to put it is that around 75-80dBs averages my receiver didn't sound great but didn't realize it until I switched to external amps. Then with the Buckeyes 90dBs still sounded great but it was just too loud.

      @@RandomDistractionsYT I have an mrx 1140 in my old home but have currently moved and am building a new system. I previously used the internal anthem amp to power a lcr of paradigm premier towers.
      My preamp is going to be a marantz cinema 70s and the left and right channel are kef r3 metas

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Before my 1140 I had an entry-level Pioneer and noticed the difference in what the Anthem could do for power. I actually did a video where I went back to see how the receiver alone would do against using the Buckeyes and have to say that I was impressed by what the Anthem could do but the amps still won out when it came to higher levels. Heard good things about the Marantz Cinema line. I do see that it's rated at 50 watts x 2 at 8ohms and your KEF's are rated 15-180 watts at 4ohms which are harder to drive. Like I mentioned earlier though it may depend on how loud you listen so it may not be an issue. The one other thing I will say when I switched to an amp was just how much more I could hear from the speakers even at lower levels so it's not just about how loud they can get but how much more detail comes through when there is more power. Part of the fun is trying to find that magical combination in this hobby, it's just unfortunate that it gets pricey trying to do that! 😀

    I have been on the fence about these, I have the 740 and the Polk R700 after calibration getting to -15 is so loud and clean. Have you went back to the internal amps to compare. I love the Anthem some would say house sound, a bit nervous that these amps may take that away, thoughts?

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a really good question and to answer, I have not tried to switch back but it's definitely something I can do. Theoretically, it should not change it but I can say that initially, I felt that more things would come through in addition to being able to go louder without distorting. I'll try and shoot a video on that this weekend to confirm that though. You mentioned only two speakers and if those are the only two then you may be good with just the Anthem if they get loud enough for your taste and if so then you may be able to use the money for something else or just save it. Since I use them to power my home theater base layer, having the additional power helps out too or at least I think it does. Will be interesting to test it out and see how it goes. Appreciate the idea for the video.

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I went back to see if there were any updates and looks like it is what I thought it was going to be. A 2 ch integrated amplifier. It looks like he will be showcasing it on Youthman's TH-cam channel at some point.

  • @cgm246

    So…you still use the Anthem for Atmos speakers and the Buckeyes for Base level?

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I currently use the Buckeyes for the base level (front, center and surround) and I use my Emotiva for the Atmos (front and rear). The Anthem at this point is not powering anything and just handling the processing.

    Hi there. Do you run the speakers full range or crossover and send the lower end to the subs.

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, I use ARC Genesis to run calibration which does use a crossover on the mains. In my case it chose 80hz for the fronts.

  • @damonmaddox1313

    Great video. First, thats what she said. Second, you might want to consider using the 3 channel for the front LCR, and the 2 channels for the SR.

      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL and thanks for checking out the video. In regards to the suggestion, what's the thinking behind that?

      @@RandomDistractionsYTIt shouldn’t matter either way.

    • @RandomDistractionsYT
      @RandomDistractionsYT  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ebkesq72 Yeah, I didn't think that it would, although a minor reason I did go with the 2 channel for the front left and right was to help distribute the load to maybe reduce some heat. Since the LCR are the most active the 3 channel would be going a lot more so by off loading the front left and right I thought that would even it out a little. Maybe it doesn't help much but in my head it seems to make sense.
