Christian Yelich has been an amazing addition to the Brewers. This entire team is SO FUN to watch. They play with an intensity but a lighthearted fun. They love the game, and you can see flat out they love to WIN. I for one am so proud of what this team has become. When I heard that term...rebuild a few years back I cringed. We had gotten close. Z. Grenke came in...we lost him after the season. Then things seemed to go sideways. Again the rebuild term. Guys I watched play were on the trading block. Players I didn't want to see go. Lucroy was one. HOWEVER emotions don't win championships if they hold you back from your goal. I stepped back and started to see these young guys they were getting. I started to see high top tier guys in our system. Our minor league system for the first time in a while was number 1. Now what? I watched, anxiously waited. Then last year. NO ONE gave a Brewers a thought. Aw poor Milwaukee will be lucky to escape the cellar. Well that team led the central almost the entire season. Yes they lost steam at the end, but they OPENED some eyes. This team was GOOD...VERY GOOD. They just needed a boost. Then POOF a boost of epic proportions. We signed L. Cain and traded for C. Yelich. When I saw the Yelich deal I was ecstatic. The hitting clinics Yelich and Stanton put on in Miami were epic. And now he's a Brewer. Cain in CF, Braun in LF, Yelich in RF. That's a heck of an OF. So now the Brewers weren't about to sneak up on anyone, yet they still weren't World Series favorites by critics.... What the hell do critics know, they said the Last Jedi was good...ha ha..good one. Anyway this team was poised to make noise and damn did they ever. An MVP season from Yelich. 3 guys over 30 HR's. Shaw, Aguliar, EVERYONE on this team played a role in getting them this far. Counsell has done an amazing job with this team since taking over. Our GM has been amazing. This TEAM may not have Kershaw, Verlander, Kemp, blah blah. Underestimating this team could give you an early ride home this postseason. So please by all means, look past us. It would be a dream come true to see this team win a World Series. My Dad took me to my first game in 1977. Frank Tanana was pitching if I remember right. The California Angels lefty. He finished 15-9 that year with a 2.54 ERA. He pitched against Mike Caldwell or Larry Sorenson. I was 10. County Stadium was a shrine to me. I was in awe of these guys. Caldwell that year we got from Cincinnati. He finished 5-8 for us. Not great, but the next year he was 22-9 with a 2.36 ERA. I went to at least 5 of his games that year. I met him a few times waiting for autographs outside County Stadium. The end of that season I saw him come out of the Brewers office. I was a left handed wanna be pitcher so he was a hero to me. I ran up and he stopped me dead in my tracks. SHHH!! Don't yell my name. All the other kids were going after Jim Ganter or Ben Oglive. That was a kids dilemma. What if 2 or 3 Brewers come out at once...yikes. Well I went for my hero. He signed my yearbook and then he reached into his duffle bag and grabbed something. He pulled out his hat and put it on my head. He said to me Here you go kid. Thanks for not going crazy. He wanted to just get home. I loved the Brewers before that. I had gotten Robin Yount's autograph, even Bob Uecker. They ALL came out. Harry Dalton, George Bamberger, Gorman Thomas, and Cecil Cooper. There is a funny story with him and my Mom arguing, yes arguing. Cooper refused to sign any autographs and when my Mom stepped in and said there is only a few kids, he got mad, she got mad, she yelled like only a Mom can, he got in his car and sped off. That was NOT the end of it though. It is so funny how things change, butt stay somewhat the same. Now players don't have interactions with fans after the game. With the amount of insanity in the world I can't blame them. But the love of Baseball and the love of the Brewers is still 1000% in my heart. I've been diagnosed with a terminal lung disease. I know I don't have long. My Mom had it, and she died young. 63 years old. I won't even make 55, but if things south quick I at least got to see this team make it to the League Championship and hopefully the World Series. Either way I'm damn proud to say I'm a BREWER'S FAN. This team has been a part of my life my entire life. My Dad died the year before Favre and the Packers won the Super Bowl. But the year before they got so close. My Dad said to me... WATCH this team. They will win it all next year. I jokingly said the same. But he knew. He said remember how it feels to see your team at #1. The best for at least one year. And Dad I gotta tell you, YOU WERE RIGHT BUDDY YOU WERE RIGHT. I hope I can experience that with the team I loved even before the Packers. I am a Milwaukee kid. Anyway I'll shut up. Old dumb ass ranting...lol. Do your team proud Milwaukee.....GET LOUD, SCREAM FOR YOUR MILWAUKEE BREWERS. Let the Dodgers know this is OUR TEAM. OUR HOUSE. And while it's been nice having you, go home, we have a World Series to play in. CMON LETS MAKE SOME NOISE. I'LL BE YELLING AS MUCH AS MY LUNGS WILL LET ME. Show the WORLD HOW GREAT THE FANS OF THE BREWERS ARE AND HOW GREAT THE CITY OF MILWAUKEE IS. IT'S TIME, IT'S BREWERS TIME. IT'S MILLER PARK TIME SO TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME AND KICK SOME DODGER BUTT!!!!!!!!!
