  • So I've been steadily gigging with this tool for a year now, and I wanted to make this video for anyone who might be on the fence about pulling the trigger on one! There are many awesome options, but this one works for me, and I wanted to throw my two cents in!

    Just came across your video and you have convinced me to go with it. I do like that you showed you can fade loops. The fact that it has mic inputs is a plus since I don’t play guitar and I want to record other instruments such as percussion.

    • @JonTorrence

      Man, I love that! So glad I could help. This has easily become one of my favorite pieces of gear. The looping capabilities are awesome and it’s sturdy as all get-out! If you have an SM57 or other shotgun style mic, I feel that’d be killer for looping an acoustic instrument!

    Can't thank you enough for this- I've been on the fence about purchasing one; your very talented and I've made up my mind to get one. Just wish it was smaller; plan on using in conjunction with pedals so I'm going to have quite a setup😊 thanks again!

      Yes! I gotta say, it’s still an integral part of my rig. Every gig (unless it’s full band). I feel your pain, though, I also have a mini-pedalboard that I play my electric through, but once you have the setup dialed in, it feels great!

    Thanks for showing us how you use it. I'm a solo acoustic musician and I have Looperboard too, and love it, although, I use it a little bit differently--I record my loop tracks ahead of time (mostly hand percussion, once in a while some bass, rhythm guitar and vox on it) because I don't dare to loop live yet. Anyway, looking at your screen I noticed it looks different from mine. Have you updated the firmware on it? It has a bit of a different layout now. From what I've read, they say the new version of firmware makes the Looperboard even better. Like I said, I love mine,so much so, that I just picked up a second one because they are on sale for $499.00! :>)
    Cheers!

    • @JonTorrence

      Awesome! Yes, I didn’t have the updated firmware when I shot this, but I’m all good now! The live looping is fun just because it keeps me on my toes! I’ll usually do different kinds of buildouts every time! I am SUPER tempted to grab an auxiliary one just to keep as a backup!

    @skinnermusic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice review. Can you have different fx on your vocal and guitar simultaneously? Also, can you record separate sections (Vs, Ch) and trigger them or are you stuck with one main loop?

    • @JonTorrence
      @JonTorrence  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! As an example, you can assign fx to channel one for vocals (such as reverb) and then channel two could be set for electric (delay and light overdrive). You can also save this as a preset that you can assign for channels 1-4 if you want to change where you plug into.

    Jon, I'm a singer/songwriter. I've been performing live looping sessions for over 5 years now. Last year, I added the Headrush Looperboard to the Headrush 112 (PA) and Headrush 108 (monitor) setup I've used for years. I have loved all the tutorials and samples found on youtube, BUT, after updating the software to the latest version, I have NO IDEA how to use this board anymore. I have enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm for the board. Can U help me?

    I just saw they discontinued this unit. Have you encountered any issues while utilizing the headrush unit. I’m on the fence and keep going back and forth between RC-600 and this

    • @JonTorrence
      @JonTorrence  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The RC-600 looks sweet! For what I do, I'll most likely move towards the Headrush Prime because of the interface and the modeling. What I mainly utilize in the Looperboard is all featured in the Prime (which is. why they most likely discontinued it... the Prime's looper is less robust, but the added vocal features and amp cloning as well as the updated interface will make up for it) Downsize my rig a bit in the future!

  • @nategoodlet
    @nategoodlet ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question: right now I’m using a ditto looper then a reverb/delay pedal to solo over my dry acoustic sound then I add the reverb/delay when soloing. Can you do that with the headrush like step on a button and add more reverb to the channel that won’t affect the looped sound.

    • @JonTorrence
      @JonTorrence  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know that people do use auxiliary/expression pedals with this, but that's not something I do. You can add in fx after the loop is created with a few clicks (I've done this live multiple times, but I do have to manually manipulate). But what I mainly do is I play acoustic through one channel while I make the loop, then switch to my electric (personal preference for soloing) and I have my HX Stomp for my electric fx which has everything I'd need. For feel (for myself) and visual (for the audience) that has proven really beneficial for my setup!

    • @nategoodlet
      @nategoodlet ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@JonTorrence awesome thank you. That’s good to know. I use a Taylor t5 and loop the acoustic and then like to use the hx stomp to solo over it with the electric tones. Thank you

  • @Sporkula1
    @Sporkula1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've had this pedal for about a week now. My only concern is... are there only about 4 effects for electric guitar? I see Wah, chorus, flanger, and phaser. This seems severely lacking. Where are the noise gate, compressor, octave, etc?

    • @JonTorrence
      @JonTorrence  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Perhaps I'm thinking about this wrong, but you can access more effects through a presets tab. The octave effect (whammy) is something that I have used and I know there is overdrive, but I usually run my effects through a mini gig pedalboard because it has specific sounds that I'm looking for!

      Hi John! I’m glad you asked this. I am in NO WAY sponsored or supported by Headrush. I have been using this tool for almost 2 years with no glitches and I’ve had great responses and reliability with the product. There is a lot of malleability with the Looperboard’s settings, and having this has convinced me to stay with the company when I need to get a new product. I hope this helps some!

    So, have improvements occured since initial release. From the reviews I've seen, it seems to have a lot of bugs. The reviews on guitar center and gearpage though are years old. Not sure how many updates have occured and if it's helped.

    • @JonTorrence
      @JonTorrence  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've used this for quite some time now with no bugs, but I've also seen that they've incorporated the looping suite into their Headrush Prime. It's pricier, but I could see myself going down that road someday since I've been so happy with the Looperboard.
