  • This one for the opera lovers out there and fans of Shakespeare, an interview with stage, opera and film director Franco Zefferelli where he talks about his early life and reveals how he was able to learn english by way of the Scots Guards during the Second World War. He talks about his early work in films and working with Italian directors. He talks about his work with Maria Callas and Joan Sutherland and making the film The Taming of the Shrew with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. This is an extended version of the interview which contains two orchestral arias, Recondita Armonia from Tosca (Concealed Harmony) and Un Bel Di Verdremo from Madama Butterfly (One Fine Day) and a brief audio extract of Robert Powell's stay on the desert Island, see below for link.
