Call me crazy, but I actually really applaud Jeffree here for raising meat ethically and not being ignorant to what he’s eating. I think there would be far fewer people eating fast food if everyone knew exactly what happens behind the scenes for each burger patty imo 🤷♀️

I do have to say that although it may seem weird, many people who have farms who care and love for their animals do still have them butchered. it's better than the industrialized farming complex that most americans get their meat from.

"Family run", "local", "small farm"... just because it has this label does NOT mean the animal isn't suffering either in the farming process or the killing process. Plus, the care and love you speak of cannot be found on a farm where animals are seen as products. Where animals are bred into existence, used for their body and then forgotten about like they were nothing. That isn't love.
After working in the animal ag industry as a govt inspector I can say that all farms local small or not end up in a slaughterhouse. It’s like 2% of people get their animal parts from a neighbour

I think the most surprising part for most people is that when he started raising them he specifically said he wouldn’t be going into the meat business, but i think it did get a lil blown out of proportion because literally everyone hates him and really just looks for things to get mad at

He made a video and stated the yaks he keeps as “pets” aren’t being used for meat or anything expect being “pets” he has other yaks that are just for farming means but they are treated so much better than the regular supermarket meat. The yaks he used for farming means are tagged so you can track where your meat has came from. So much better than your regular meat that no one has any clue where it is coming from

Ethan, what is the difference between these yaks and cows? The horns and different hair? I've spent time with cows and I can say that they are beautiful, feeling creatures with souls, that you happily consume.

I like everyone in the podcast but it's stuff like this that made me after sticking around for so long stop watching. I feel like the show is more toxic bs than goofs and laughs. I understand talking about serious topics and stuff but that's not even what it's about anymore. I can disagree with someone and still watch them but there is just so much toxicity and drama now. Where's the cruelty in raising, caring for an animal, and then slaughtering it humanely and consuming it? The cruelty free of his products, I assume is about animal testing. Do you need to be a licensed Vegan to sell vegan marked products?
Restaurants and corporations that test on animals do this all the time, they’re just trying to reach as many people as possible by advertising towards vegans despite still producing animal products.
