On the point about Muay Thai and CTE: the vast majority of fights that Thais have in their record are NOT like ONE Muay Thai fights (as an aside, many Thais don’t actually consider ONE Muay Thai to be “real” Muay Thai). Thailand has no amateur scene, so the gap in the number of fights that Thais have compared to other fighters in other sports is smaller than it may initially seem. Also, until they reach the top stadium circuits (Rajadamnern, Channel 7, etc), they likely aren’t fighting at 100% intensity. Many of these guys are fighting 1-3x a month to feed their families, so it’s in their interest to go hard enough to win on points rather than go all out and risk an injury which would jeopardize their ability to provide for their family. Finally, Thai fighters’ brains are absolutely impacted by the accumulated trauma. There was a highly circulated study by a Thai neuroradiologist of Thai children competing in Muay Thai which found that they had an average IQ of 80-85, or one standard deviation below the mean (ie in the bottom 1/3 of the population).
Speaking of primes ending early you gotta remember pettis his last fight in his prime was 10 years ago againt gilbert melendez when he was only 27 and its crazy that he was in his prime so early and exited it early
Regarding HW being almost a different sport; I'm curious what would have happened to fighters like Tai if they dropped their weight and went down to LHW. He wouldn't be as ridiculously undersized, his chin would be insane, most of the power would translate, better cardio, more ways to win than just that one punch. Probably be a much better fighter than at HW.
@@felipearaujo9673 HWs hit way harder. Tai, at least used to, have an amazing chin. Many LHWers like brawling a bit and that would fit Tai perfectly. It would also be way harder for to take him down and dominate him there.

Izzy is way too fast for Paul. Now when it comes to welterweights probably Jack Della and Stephen Thompson could compete even though they're a bit too light
Weasle the muay Thai fighters start slow because traditionally the betting happens in the first round of the fight. So the fighters will take the first round off to let the betters get their bets in. Then they fight.
@@TheWeasleMMA Honestly wouldn't know, since the history channel doesn't really fit either ig, not a big deal though probably. Don't know if you'd wanna make a 3rd just for that/random stuff and ideas.
Heavyweights are also less skilled because it’s harder for them to find high level training partners their size in the gym. If they are grappling and sparring with people smaller than them they don’t need to be as technical to do well.

I think the UFC is having a problem with these guys not putting pressure on opponents before fights. there is no build up for anything. very little news outside of top 5. if prelim fighters were smart they would be putting stakes on their fights. something.. ANYTHING to draw attention and make it interesting. the UFC is slowly entering a period where they're all "athletes" and not fighters. I know that sounds dumb, but you can see the difference when its there
This might sound like BS but I promise you this is not BS. I've seen this on multiple Thai fight documentaries. The reason that they go slow and easy during the first two rounds is to allow bettors to get their bets down. You will rarely see a thai fight stopped in the first round unless it's at those giant tournaments that they have where winning counts a lot more than it does at the regional fights. Then they're fighting for championships and less concerned about the betting though it is Asia so there is still a ton of betting.
Aldo was still in his prime in his early 30s... he just started fighting guys who were better than him. It's crazy that Weasle has him as the greatest FW of all time when he did nothing but lose to Weasle's #2 (Volk) and #3 (Max). That makes no sense. Aldo is the 3rd best FW of all time. Stop the glazing, Weasle!
Speaking as a longtime Dark Souls veteran, I think Elden Ring is probably the best video game ever made. If you're having problems beating the base game (especially optional but goated boss Malenia), just get the Mimic Tear spirit ashes and you'll be good
I didn’t think Aldo looked the same after the mcregir fight, like yeah he beat Frankie but I was expecting more from him, so I honestly wasn’t surprised when max started taking over round 3, but seeing max drop Aldo was insane I remember thinking
In Muay Thai three things need to be made clear in addition to the sparring the Weasel mentioned 1. Most muay thai fighters retire early. Its rare to see a fighter really go well into their 30s. 2. ONE Muay Thai is extremely new. Traditional Muay Thai uses the big gloves and values kicking and has a slower pace. 3. Most Muay Thai fighters historically do not have lots of easily accessible interviews or even youtube content to see any degradation let alone they speak thai, would you even be able to tell unless you can understand them
For aldo, wouldnt it just be that the skill of the division caught up to him instead of him being out of his prime. Especially since when he was at 145 he only lost to future champs who cleared people like chad mendez and frankie edgar. Id say if you hit you prime early that just means the talent pool caught up to you unless there was an injury
Deadass one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard from him. Mike literally had his hands down at his side walking towards Jake. Most middleweights and ALOT of the guys above that smoke Jake.
If all these heavy hitters cracked Maldonado at LHW before he got KO’d by Stipe (a notorious heavy hitter), isn’t it possible that his chin got tapped too many times by the time of the Stipe fight?
Im not a leon fan but the man is the perfect Welterweight by build and athleticism. Dude is massive and long, combined with his footwork and passive style it is going to be very hard for him to lose until his movement skills diminish. I really don’t think Shavkat can get him down and will lose a decision. Same with Khamzat (my favorite fighter when he fights)
Also P4P is so stupid. The smaller fighter will always be more skillful. Its the same way an Ant will always be p4p stronger than any human. Or any 150 pound gym bro is p4p stronger than many top HW powerlifters
It wouldn't matter if Heavyweight sized athletes from other sports did MMA. They'll be better than most Heavyweights but never as good as the smaller guys. Smaller guys are generally much more technical, mobile, fast, coordinated and fitter in every physical activity.
I hate that we're in a world where O'Malley is main. However, I can see Merab melt in the lights and sleep from an O'Malley right cross but I'll be rooting for Merab.

Honestly if darren till made a few difference decisions he beats ddp, but man he came so close in that fight, I didn’t think he should’ve taken time off especially seeing where dricus is now, but that fight immediately told me how good ddp was, Darren probably landed the most shots on him outta anyone else he fought in the ufc, Sean landed a lot of volume but it wasn’t as much significance, I honestly think Darren did the best striking wise, but yeah Izzy should be able to dominate there if Darren was able to

I think the supposed “ending of their prime” of certain fighters is just them facing better competition while their skills are still really good like Jose (I think he’s still in his prime honestly, better power, boxing and cardio than ever)
No you see some fighters just lose it. Chuck Liddell for instance, he had an iron chin his whole career than all of a sudden punches that wouldn't fase him would knock him outcold.
They should have had Yair Rodriguez vs Dan Ige. Dana promised Dan he would be on the sphere after 303 and broke that promise even after he came in on 3 hours notice.
They just need to space out these fights better. Particularly the fights that contain fighters who are right outside the title picture. Like the Petr Yan vs Song Yadongs or the Chito vs Figeruidos type fights. They elevate a card so much without needing to break the bank on stars or championship fights.
People would appreciate Curtis vs Almeda more if it was on a card that’s needs just a little more.
Just now found out you had a podcast. About time.
I challenge you in D2 pvp 1v1
It’s a disappointing card considering The Sphere is the biggest, most advanced visual stage ever built.
I’m surprised bigger name’s didn’t step up for this. It’s the chance of a lifetime!
But they're going to do more events there and on TV it's going to look just the same as everything else.
I really think people are just hanging on every word of Dana and forgetting that he's a fight promoter
Mokaev vs Kape is in the prelims but Osbourne vs Rodriguez is starting the main event and the entire card is filled with Mexican!?!?
As a fan, Aspinall needs to win not only for the hope of an exiting heavyweight division but a guy who we need to step in for the sphere with Alex Pereira. Aspinall and Pereira have saved cards before and I hope they can deliver in UFC 306.
If Aspinall wins, everyone push for Aspinall vs Pereira for the main event please, they’ve saved the card multiple times and will never decline a fight despite the situation.
that leon beating shavkat hot take aged like milk on a summers day 46:09
💀 my bad
Feel like the ufc just don’t wanna put a massive event just to be outdone by Canelo. Still would want to see a massive card but imo it makes sense why. Dana always disappointing with ts
Max vs. Topuria not being the co main is actually disappointing.
Co main? Are you trolling or smoking.
Gotta be both 🤣
Are you mad ? A higher weight class title fight being below a lower weight class title fight ?
@@martinstoyanov5180thats not how it works bro if the leon fight was on the same card as an islam fight islam would be the headliner

Sorry but MVP would actually demolish Jake… like it would not be funny
I look forward to your videos man. Always good content !
"This guy tickles my pickle!!!" - Jon - no Jones-Bones
Add Dominick Reyes vs Anthony Smith and Cejudo vs Ige and it will perk up the card a bit
If Belal, Blaydes and Merab become champs it’s going to be the most boring era in the UFC’s history
You just told everyone you never watched Blaydes or Merab fight before 😂

If that would happen, it would be a flash in the pan. They'd all lose their first defense if the earth is round

Speaking of primes ending early you gotta remember pettis his last fight in his prime was 10 years ago againt gilbert melendez when he was only 27 and its crazy that he was in his prime so early and exited it early
that Royal Rumble question is great
Regarding HW being almost a different sport; I'm curious what would have happened to fighters like Tai if they dropped their weight and went down to LHW. He wouldn't be as ridiculously undersized, his chin would be insane, most of the power would translate, better cardio, more ways to win than just that one punch. Probably be a much better fighter than at HW.
No he wouldn't. LHW are way, way better fighters than HWs. If Tuivasa is losing to blobs, he is losing to LHWs
@@felipearaujo9673 HWs hit way harder. Tai, at least used to, have an amazing chin. Many LHWers like brawling a bit and that would fit Tai perfectly.
It would also be way harder for to take him down and dominate him there.
@@Juel92no it wouldn’t he’s fat and has no td defense
I'd love to see you stream Elden Ring
Imagine a Weasel style breakdown on ER bosses.
I remember when ode Osborne said before he got choked out by kelleher and had to tap with his feet he said "in a couple years their going to be saying conor fought on the ode Osborne card. (This was cowboy vs conor) I've never liked him ever since and that deff backfired. But he's a teacher so that's cool o guess
Izzy is way too fast for Paul. Now when it comes to welterweights probably Jack Della and Stephen Thompson could compete even though they're a bit too light
Weasel, I don't watch streamers, much rather would play myself, but I'd definitely watch you play Elden Ring DLC
streaming games would be dope, core fans would watch dat what matter
Straight spells beat looping spells actually took me out 😂
Weasle the muay Thai fighters start slow because traditionally the betting happens in the first round of the fight. So the fighters will take the first round off to let the betters get their bets in. Then they fight.
For sure would like to see you play smth like destiny or elden ring too
I'm going to start streaming gaming and collabs, but idk on this channel or another?
@@TheWeasleMMA Honestly wouldn't know, since the history channel doesn't really fit either ig, not a big deal though probably. Don't know if you'd wanna make a 3rd just for that/random stuff and ideas.
Heavyweights are also less skilled because it’s harder for them to find high level training partners their size in the gym. If they are grappling and sparring with people smaller than them they don’t need to be as technical to do well.
Bro stream Elden Ring that would be awesome there’s also a martial arts weapon class where you use punches and kicks in the DLC - it would be a great watch
Ilia is not spanish. IILIA IS GEORGIAN

He is Spanish because he is a citizen .
@@Lord_of_the_Pies I live here in spain over 20 years... trust me it matters 0 where he was born or raised for us here, everyone considers him one of our own. Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin actually had basically the same size hand. Carwin is just wearing a glove so it makes it look bigger. If you measure knuckle to knuckle, they’re pretty much indistinguishable.
Bingo, and Brocks sleeve makes his fist appear smaller

2 am is a Crazy time to upload,
time to smoke another joint
Kind not smoking for 4 days and I can do literally nohting
Gaziev, skill-set wise is actually quite good for a Heavyweight. It's just that his cardio lets him down massively.
Damn, i knew you partneredwith dazn, but i really wasn't expecting you to sell yourself so much. Jake paul beating strickland, Whitaker, dricus, izzy and all those guys just because he beat Perry? They would destroy perry as well, when did jake beat a young 180 fighter? I really liked these videos, but I'm not watching this podcast again
When the UFC said it's going to be one of the biggest cards of all time they meant production-wise they are talking about the production value behind the show not the actual fights on the card
Wow u understood my question perfectly if magic being used THANKS 😂
How could we forget Andy Wang? He's a warrior.
Bro I’m a white belt bjj still and I can clearly see that tickling was a right way out of that “choke” as the “choke” wasn’t on. The choking leg should be his left leg but instead he got his right leg choking him while being under his armpit at same time. Guy got triangle on the wrong way
Shut up white belt
I think the UFC is having a problem with these guys not putting pressure on opponents before fights. there is no build up for anything. very little news outside of top 5.
if prelim fighters were smart they would be putting stakes on their fights. something.. ANYTHING to draw attention and make it interesting. the UFC is slowly entering a period where they're all "athletes" and not fighters. I know that sounds dumb, but you can see the difference when its there
“Can’t shoot but rebounds passing defense”
So you’re the second coming of Dennis Rodman
Destiny 2 shoutout in the first minute of the ep. Hell yeah weasle let’s play
Thank goodness there’s guys like Pereira, Pantoja, & Islam who are actually being active champs
Damn, ngl I wasnt expecting the weasle to talk about reacharounds, when I clicked this video.
What happened to the Halloway Tuporia fight?!? That wouldve taken the card up a few notches for sure!
In muay thai the first couple of rounds are taken easy for the gamblers, the fourth round is the biggest scoring round
Izzy is 6 boxing matches to say he can’t box is wild he’d KO Jake this is delusional of saying Jake that’s good when he’s not
Weasle, please as soon as you can do the review of Mokaev Kape of UFC 304. The scorecard 30 - 27 isn't a shame😅?
Aldo was still in his prime in his early 30s... he just started fighting guys who were better than him.
It's crazy that Weasle has him as the greatest FW of all time when he did nothing but lose to Weasle's #2 (Volk) and #3 (Max). That makes no sense.
Aldo is the 3rd best FW of all time. Stop the glazing, Weasle!
Nick Diaz fighting on 306 would go 🔥 especially if u change the matchup to fighting Tony
tickling to get out of a sub is the best shit ive ever heard
Speaking as a longtime Dark Souls veteran, I think Elden Ring is probably the best video game ever made. If you're having problems beating the base game (especially optional but goated boss Malenia), just get the Mimic Tear spirit ashes and you'll be good
I didn’t think Aldo looked the same after the mcregir fight, like yeah he beat Frankie but I was expecting more from him, so I honestly wasn’t surprised when max started taking over round 3, but seeing max drop Aldo was insane I remember thinking
Stop saying topuria is spaniard! He is Georgian representing both Georgia and Spain.
In Muay Thai three things need to be made clear in addition to the sparring the Weasel mentioned
1. Most muay thai fighters retire early. Its rare to see a fighter really go well into their 30s.
2. ONE Muay Thai is extremely new. Traditional Muay Thai uses the big gloves and values kicking and has a slower pace.
3. Most Muay Thai fighters historically do not have lots of easily accessible interviews or even youtube content to see any degradation let alone they speak thai, would you even be able to tell unless you can understand them
8:17 Facts i was hoping Yair was on the card especially cuz he my fav fighter💯
It's almost 2 am g😂
Early morning grind
Yes and the Weasel is in his bedroom like any good content maker
For aldo, wouldnt it just be that the skill of the division caught up to him instead of him being out of his prime. Especially since when he was at 145 he only lost to future champs who cleared people like chad mendez and frankie edgar. Id say if you hit you prime early that just means the talent pool caught up to you unless there was an injury
Jake paul goes 8 hard rounds with mike perry until he finally gets him, but he beats izzy, strickland, whittaker easy?
Seriously, wtf is he smoking lmao, he couldn't ko Nate Diaz but he destroys everyone? like what
Deadass one of the worst takes I’ve ever heard from him. Mike literally had his hands down at his side walking towards Jake. Most middleweights and ALOT of the guys above that smoke Jake.
Weasle, dana never said it was going to be the biggest card of the year. He said it was going to be the best live sporting event of all time.
Dan Ige gonna be hanging out in the parking lot of the Sphere, with his phone in hand. Doing stretches and warm up routines.
Id like to see Cejudeo vs Merano at the sphere
they do mean the production of the noche card I heard they've dropped almost 20 million on production costs alone
Shavkat is definitely all rounded and creative, can do many things. Leon is good striker but cannot use it if no opportunity and hardly can find it
If all these heavy hitters cracked Maldonado at LHW before he got KO’d by Stipe (a notorious heavy hitter), isn’t it possible that his chin got tapped too many times by the time of the Stipe fight?
Im not a leon fan but the man is the perfect Welterweight by build and athleticism.
Dude is massive and long, combined with his footwork and passive style it is going to be very hard for him to lose until his movement skills diminish. I really don’t think Shavkat can get him down and will lose a decision. Same with Khamzat (my favorite fighter when he fights)
Also P4P is so stupid. The smaller fighter will always be more skillful. Its the same way an Ant will always be p4p stronger than any human. Or any 150 pound gym bro is p4p stronger than many top HW powerlifters
Bro DJs been going to BJJ tournaments lately. I think he's got a lot better.
The tickle fight is crazy 😭😭
Elden Ring is always great, would love to see your runs
It wouldn't matter if Heavyweight sized athletes from other sports did MMA. They'll be better than most Heavyweights but never as good as the smaller guys. Smaller guys are generally much more technical, mobile, fast, coordinated and fitter in every physical activity.
I hate that we're in a world where O'Malley is main. However, I can see Merab melt in the lights and sleep from an O'Malley right cross but I'll be rooting for Merab.
Grappling loses to dirty tactics. Idk about the specific positions and what scenarios call for what. But dirty tactics will dismantle most “grapplers “ most people aren’t comfortable getting a mouthful of human flesh and parts
"Straight spells are better than looping spells" 😂😂😂
The extra size might make for a slow izzy. Plus he's been chinned twice
I think Weasle might eat those GSP/Aspinall comments within the next year. Side note: I'm not British.
