This is all such great advice. Agree 100% about the posh voice and R&P - so not necessary! One tip for handling Iambic Pentameter for beginners is to make the last word of each line the most important in some way, like by giving it more weight, stretching out, or changing the pitch.
I’m doing Phoebe’s monolgue from As You Like It as some drama schools have asked for a Shakespearean one. If they don’t specify and just state ‘two contrasting speeches’ do you reckon Shakespeare is good?
Does Hamilton count as a monologue because I know the whole first song by heart and know how it is sung (I'm 13). Would that count as a monologue or no as it's performed as a song.
