  • I wanted to document the process Hendrix Wire Wheel recommended on regreasing wire wheels. So here we go. Basically I do it annually.

Great video. So many people put grease on the tapered faces and wonder why the wheel doesn't feel tight! Good tip putting the wheel on first to squish out all the excess grease on the tapers, then wiping it off.

Wrong on so many counts. I almost cried when you hit the spokes with your wood and hammer ( when taking the wheel off). You didn’t smear silicon on the spoke heads to stop grease migrating out of the ‘hub’ (an old trick that those in the know have used for years to keep wire wheels from not needing to be cleaned). The taper needs a smear of grease before putting the nut back on. B.

I don't usually comment on TH-cam videos but; thank you. I'm trying to get an old MGB running, but couldn't access the fuel pump, because no matter what I couldn't the wheel off without risking permanent damage. Going to try jacking it up first this time :)

An old tooth brush makes a good grease applicator for the splines and threads

Only ever tighten or loosen the eared nut with the wheel down on the the ground, denting the Timken rollers & cones wheel brgs is not desirable....
