- Hey Everyone,
Disclaimer: I noticed two shots got messed up in post. I haven't had the time to set up my editing rig at the new place but can re-upload this episode as soon as I get the chance if you all think it's needed. I am incredibly sorry... it's been a busy couple of weeks.
Today's episode is a pretty special one... I have been wanting a house the past few years and as time has progressed I have gotten closer and closer to this day. Behind the scenes the past few weeks I have been in the process of buying my own place and we now have all the space we could want! It's a pretty huge change for me, so it may take some getting used to and time to process.

Congrats! And just like that Hunter Direction transitions into a home improvement channel! 😉
Haha😆 I have way too many hobbies that I could easily do a spinoff channel on that too lol
@@HunterDirection kind of explains your perceived lack of time? Whatever topic you explore, I really appreciate the insight you bring to your thought process. I’ve described it to my wife when I’m watching on Saturday mornings as a philosophy channel centered around German cars. The shared Mk1 TT experience brought me here, but I’ll keep watching now whatever your underlying subject matter. Your cinematography skills have grown exponentially since the earliest days of the channel!
@@90Duck Hey I really appreciate that! I see the channel and the episodes just like that. Whatever the subject matter I just want to practice telling stories. I want to make feature films someday so this is great practice! And haha thank you. I've still got a long way to go cinematography wise but you are spot on that it is leagues better than it used to be haha
Congrats! Now your monthly payments go into equity instead of someone elses... Following along. Good Luck with it!
Completely agree! Thank you a ton for the support. It means a lot to me!
It’s time for the big turbos
It absolutely is! Once the garage is set up for working on cars the 2.7 is coming out!
This video is art. I came for the cars but stayed for the journey. What I really like about this video and channel is that you’re documenting what so many young people like us go through growing up. When I moved into my home with my pregnant girlfriend (now wife) 7 yrs ago, I felt all of the same emotions. But people I think now are too scared sometimes to do what you did. I commend you sir, I think you are a great role model for many young men to follow. So excited to see where this takes you. Remember the ups and downs are part of the journey! Godbless.
your videos are so amazing. what a style. this house a huge opportunity. keep the content coming PLEASEEEE!! ps i feel like fans would understand if needed a break from cars/youtube to get your house flowing.
buying a house in this economy is crazy haha
this video might be your best work yet, absolutely great watch. almost at 10k subs too :D
Congrats on the house and future awesome plans. I love this channel. Crazy how a channel about TTs has grown to have great cinematography.
we're all very proud of you sir
Thank you for all the support!
Watched Garage Part 3 and have been enjoying watching a few more on a Saturday afternoon! Thanks so much for posting.
“Every minute used to last a little bit longer.” At 66 years old, that sentence rings oh so true. That’s the way of life, and the secret is to savor the sweet moments - and to move in a way to be aware of them.
Your videos are full of great car content, and wisdom that often seems beyond your youth. This is the reason I subscribed to your channel and why I always look forward to a new episode.
Congratulations bud that’s awesome. It’s a big step but great for the future.
Congrats on the new home, looks like a vast amount of potential there! good luck, look forward to seeing the progress.
I also see a ton of potential! Thank you a ton for the support
You always have the perfect music with your videos. You have really good arrangement
Each video is like a mini movie. Well done man.
Nothing like homeownership!
Congratulations! You can NEVER have too much garage space, EVER!! Projects will fill the space and more.
Dude. Your editing, narrating, and videography is amazing. I IMMEDIATELY SUBBED. Cant wait to watch yet another channel grow
Congrats on the house! Having all the space for car projects is going to be worth it.
I think the reason the same span of time seems so much shorter as you get older is simple percentages. 1 year of your life at 10 years old is 10% of your life. 1 year at 30 years old is 3%
Congratulations on the house.
What a great new channel for me to binge. Subscribed
Happy for you! You deserve the good things and in life because you worked for it.
Hey thank you! I really appreciate that haha
Congrats on buying a place! 10k YT subs coming soon too!
Hey thank you! And yeah that's also crazy to me😅
Time is relative. The older you get the faster it goes! Congratulations man! Enjoy every minute.
Dude I am so so sooo stoked to see your progress with the garage and house! This will be a fun adventure to join you on. Thanks for another great video! Goodluck and congratulations man 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Congrats on the new home! Would love to see more home improvement content as well.
Congrats beware the basement that's where the monster lives 😊😅😅
Already planning the next halloween special with that in mind😆
@@HunterDirection good one, lol 😆😆😆
Congratulations.. very happy for you.
Congratulations 👏🏼🎉 best wishes on your own place 👍🏼
Hey thank you so much! I appreciate that!
Congratulations! And my condolences. I've been a real estate agent, am now a financial and investment adviser for mainly the "little" people, actually am a car guy loving sailing boats and owning one from the 1960s and we have a house since September 2022 which we (I) mainly core renovate. But us being German in Germany, it is more expensive, time and work consuming and although we slowly grow fond of it, the feeling is more of a burden. Well it is and it wasn't entirely done out of our own will. But things happen. I would've invested this money in cars and investments before buying something for us, especially since a house with any ground worth mentioning is upwards of 350.000€. outside of cities. But hey, another 300.000 into it while only paying for material and it's getting somewhere. Sometime. At some point. While I'm still alive I hope.
Owning something like that is nice, but it grows on you through the work you do to it. At least with me that is. And since you and I have some intersecting ways we think about things, I'm in good spirits it'll work with you the same way. But work, that you can't put into other things and that shall be well thought of. After all, time is all we got as a currency and there is not too much of it. On the other hand, getting freaked out about it does not help either. Me being 33 now I understand, I have no idea how to approach this time stuff the right way. Talked to many people, listened to even more, doesn't matter. Their lives, not mine.
But really, making things your own is great. Be it cars, boats or houses. Really satisfying
Hell yeah congrats on the house! Excited to see the garage remodel!
Pretty cool.
Congrats bro! Loved this video, and especially enojyed the monologue. I wanted to comment on some of the things you said at the beginning, but then you got to a very insightful conclusion at the end.
Enjoy the journey of having your own place. For me, personally , I found the first six months in my own house to be the hardest, because you just want to fix everything. After that, you get to know which imperfections you are comfortable with - and which are future projects.
It really looks like a great space, and I can't wait to see what you do with it!
PS, absolutely keen to follow renovation videos if you decide on doing them.
You're a hard worker and an incredible storyteller - kudos
Stoked for you mate!
Congratulations on the House 🎊 🏡 looks like a great place with tons of potential.
Hell yeah, finally a place to call your own, hopefully you can fit a 2 post lift in that garage haha
Haha I doubt the garage can. But I am going to build an additional shop on the property which definitely will get one!
@@HunterDirection there are some styles of car lifts that would fit in a 2 car garage. probably quite the investment but potentially worth it as a shop build is quite long term.
Great having your own proper space to work on your rigs. Now all you need is all the tools you can think of and dont forget the wonderful audi specialty tools.
Awesome!
I guess when buying your first house it must feel both overwhelming and freeing at the same time.
Man I love the amount of effort you put into your videos. Right from the start I was like, I clicked on a video about someone buying a house for their cars right? I'm used to seeing hand held footage that's straight from an iphone with light color correction and all that not a full on movie sequence. Love the colors you put in your shots and all the small details. Definitely gonna have to watch more of your videos to enjoy your work :)
Congrats. thats huge. youll def love it more as you spend time in it. all ur thinking about rn is the bill and amount of work done but youll love it and hate it in no time. one car project and some friends over and youll be instantly happy you have it.
Congratulations
Congrats brother!
Congrats on the property and house! Big step man I’m stoked to see the future with this.
Congrats on the house man!
Congrats mate 👍🏼
Very exciting! Looking forward to all of the progress!
Congrats on the new home :)
Congratulations 🎉🍾 , wish you all the best ! You deserve success , thanks a lot for giving us such amazing content 🤩
Congrats
Thank you!
Congratulations on the purchase 🎉. It looks like a palace to me! Love how in rural America you can get so much land and so many out buildings. And who knew that Hunter was a foodie! Julia Child and all!😂 You'll make it your own sooner than you think.😊
Oh the foodie thing is no joke😆 I am just as into cooking as I am into cars/filming lol. Someday there will be a cooking special haha
@HunterDirection I love my cooking too here in 🇦🇺 Australia. I'm also a foodie. As much as I love fancy dishes, I can imagine you grilling cheeseburgers 🍔 for your friends in your huge backyard! In any case, we all look forward to following your progress with this fabulous project property.
Hell yeah dude
Congrats!
Home ownership is wild.. at first you're like " damn, this is MINE! .. then you're like " DAMN... this is mine.. "
Still a great experience to nest into your own place and make it work/feel like you want. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the workspaces.
Congratulations Brother! You'll make it feel like it's yours soon enough. Enjoy the way forward!
Hell yea!! A big congratulations, and I’m really looking forward to more house/shop/shed/yard content too
Congrats on the house. Looking forward for existing content on both home improvements and cars the perfect combination videos in mine opinion. What a better way to improve the channel. You will not regret it. I was 25 years old when I bought my first home I end up loosing it but not because I could not afford it but because the home crash of 2008. But I game so much experience that when I was 28 I bought my second house and pay it off in 13 years. I am 43 now and now I feel so greatly blessed that I went to the bad experience in the first home that made me more successful on the second home. Love the content and nostalgia you put in to it.
Excellent job, congratulations on the new acquisition, I look forward to seeing your work in this new chapter of your life!
love the tt contents! good luck!
Congrats brother, you inspire me evertyime I watch your videos!
Hey thank you man! I really appreciate that and am happy to hear you have found so much value in my episodes.
congrats, excited to see the new content from here, you deserve this!
I appreciate that! I've got a ton planned!
What do you do for work beside youtube?
I work a pretty traditional job haha(no cool "get rich quick" scheme or loans from family or anything like that). I am a staff level engineer. I got my degree in computer engineering and work in system design.
Good luck bro :)
Congrats! Best of luck
Thank you!
I see myself in this video 👍👍
I'm so glad to hear I'm not alone in my thoughts.
@@HunterDirectionI like old Audi's , I like to fix them up , I have two myself , I still live with my parents in the house and I don't have enough room for the projects I'd like to do as well , I'm stuck in a stereotype and I'm scared to take a step forward , or rather I don't know what to do next
House acquired now time for a urs car 😎
I look on the marketplace for those daily actually! I would 100% fly out and drive it back if I found a deal haha. Ill pick up way more projects now that I can haha
God help you. Those who love modding cars ALSO love modding homes. Best of luck! #engineeringlife
Nice! Even better!!
Ps: I liked the Beetlejuice font lol.
I'm stoked you're Excited! Thank you for the support! I also really liked the font. Reminded me of Beetlejuice mixed with poor things haha
@@HunterDirection Haha, I'm usually the guy that comments on the font selection - but didn't even notice :O
Congrats! you should be two channels. This one keep as is and then make a more relaxed vlog style for cars. Less story telling and more everyday car stuff.
I've absolutely toyed with that idea. If i did that id probably just add an additional upload with lower effort vlogs to the existing release schedule on this channel
I recently bought a e30 convertible from watching your videos!
Thats awesome! Sounds like a great car!
@@HunterDirectionwhat camera do you use by chance I also do photography
@@Carsofminnesota I have way too many cameras that I use for different feeling shots 😅. My primary camera is a blackmagic design pocket cinema 4k. I also have their classic Bmpcc OG camera that I use for retro shots. I've also got various gopros, panasonic lumix' and some dji products haha.
@@HunterDirection I am gonna look into the retro one thank you! Love your content!
@@Carsofminnesota I absolutely love the sensor in that OG camera. The main pro is also it's downside though. Since its older is a relatively cheap body... But it uses archaic batteries and sd cards so you kinda need to rig it out to make it usable for longer shoots. Shooting in uncompressed raw is so nice though! A brand new battery lasts maybe 10-15 minutes lol
When are you launching the home improvement channel?
Hey, im not sure if this is a bit unorthodox or not but, i have a very similar project that i have a few tinsy issues with. Was hoping we could exchange a few emails and you might share a few things. Specifically, im curious to know what your downpipe looks like (if your manifold is top-mount or otherwise) and also how your oil drain to pan looks. Im having an issue wraping mine around everything and keeping it away from the CV and heat from the manifold.

Are you working as an engineer along with all the myriad of hobbies?
Yep! That one gets the most attention though since it's my real job haha. But the leftover time being spent on hobbies and projects helps a ton to establish a decent balance.
Congrats
