Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad the videos have helped you improve your game - that’s amazing to hear! As for dealing with the pressure and those tough moments, especially when teammates get on your case, I get it. It’s tough, but remember that mistakes are part of the game and part of learning. Here are a few tips to help with your mentality: Focus on the next play: Whenever you make a mistake, try to shake it off quickly and focus on what’s coming next. Goalkeeping is all about bouncing back, and every save after a mistake shows your resilience. Build self-confidence: Remind yourself of the saves and great moments you've had. Those define you as a goalkeeper, not a single miss. Keep your confidence high, even when others might not understand. Control what you can: Teammates might react in the moment, but you know you’re putting in the work. Trust your own judgment and keep pushing forward. Positive self-talk: When you feel down, tell yourself you’ve got this. Simple reminders like “I’ve saved tougher shots before” can boost your mindset. Don’t let those moments hold you back - use them to grow stronger. You’re doing awesome, and I’m so proud to be part of your journey. Keep pushing, and remember, you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽
Hey Kristian! I was never a professional football player but I used to play a lot street football in the past. But for the last few years (4-5) I haven't touch a ball. And since I am 35 years old I thought that I am done with what used to be my favorite hobby. But recently I met with a group of people who are really nice and invited me to play in their team casually. And after just 10 minutes of playing I realized that being that old and not training for so long I ran out of breath so I asked them to stay on the goal. And for that level of play it turned out I was doing.... OK-ish for an amateur standards. In the past I always wanted to be an outfield player since I liked to run all the time but right now that isn't happening. So I embraced the idea of being a goalkeeper and start even doing some drills. And just few days ago youtube algorithm has blessed me in the recommended with one of your videos which was both good and entertaining. So I am about to start watching all your content! I am aware I am not going to become a pro but I just strive to get better and help my teammates :) Keep up the good work and the amazing videos!
Thank you so much for sharing your story - it’s awesome to see you rediscovering your love for the game! Embracing goalkeeping, especially after not playing for a while, is a bold move, and it sounds like you’re already doing great. The fact that you’re starting drills and diving into goalkeeping content shows a lot of passion and commitment. At 35, it’s all about enjoying the process, learning new skills, and staying fit while helping your team. I’m so glad the algorithm brought you here, and I hope the videos continue to support you on this journey. Keep at it - you’re never too old to learn, improve, and enjoy the game. I’ll keep creating content to help goalkeepers like you. Thanks for being part of the community, and good luck in goal! 🙌🧤⚽
For my team I'm the 2nd choice keeper, and was always, but now I'm basically becoming goated and better meanwhile the 1st choice keeper is declining, this Saturday we have the "game of the season", whoever wins is on top of the table, last game I saved the crucial shots, 2 of them were from half-line and one from corner kick, which made us win 13-1 and not 13-3, after watching your videos, I don't what's happening in me but I'm constantly saving shots, yesterday we were training, although I'm really short (1.34m) I only conceded 3 from like 50 shots
Wow, this is amazing to hear! It sounds like all your hard work is really paying off, and you’re stepping up at the perfect time with the big game coming up. Saving 47 out of 50 shots in training is no small feat, especially at 1.34m - it shows how much your positioning and technique are improving. 🙌🧤 Keep that momentum going, and don’t let being 2nd choice discourage you - you’re proving yourself every step of the way. Big games like the one this Saturday are your chance to shine, so stay confident and trust the process. You've got this! 💪⚽🔥 Also, thank you so much for watching the videos and sharing your journey - it’s comments like these that make everything worthwhile. Wishing you and your team the best of luck for the game of the season - go smash it!
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping This Saturday we basically have the title decider, it's the 1st place team (us) vs the 2nd place team (I already told this), both of us had only wins but we have better goal difference, I was thinking I would have no gametime because the game will be really close, but now that I'm in excelent form and the 1st choice keeper is in his worst form, I can start dreaming in even being in the starting 7 (we play football with 7 per side)
Hey, big fan of your channel. I have some issues with saving penalty kicks. I have watched your video of penalty kicks, but I still can’t guess the correct direction. Great videos. I haven't played in about 10 years & recently played a match before watching your videos. Glad to see I still had most of the basics right even after so long! Great refreshers. However, I was wondering, can you make a video about set pieces, especially corners? I find them to be my black sheep. Opposing players keep blocking me, & having played hockey as well, I'm just tempted to body check them out of my way like in hockey but I know I can't unless I want to be shown a red card lol So I'm not sure what I can/can't do to properly get control of my box. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your story-it’s awesome that you’re back on the pitch after 10 years and still have the basics down! That’s no small feat! Another banger bro! I just made my travel team and I’m very happy about it. Plan to stay at the club for the next year or 2 but as I go into private high school soccer I want to aim for that academy level. Do you have any confidence advice? Because I get this just butterfly in the stomach feeling when even thinking about matches and tryouts.
Congrats on making your travel team! 🎉 That’s a big step, and it’s awesome that you’re setting goals to level up even further. Those butterflies are super normal, especially when you’re aiming high. Here are some confidence tips to help you stay calm and focused: Channel the butterflies: Instead of trying to get rid of that feeling, use it as fuel. Remind yourself that those nerves mean you care and that you’re ready to give your best. It’s a sign you’re pushing your limits! Visualize success: Picture yourself making saves, commanding your area, and staying composed. Visualization can help your mind get comfortable with big moments before they even happen. Stick to a pre-game routine: A consistent warm-up or routine can help you feel grounded and in control. Knowing you’re following a set process gives you something to rely on, no matter how big the game or tryout. Remember your growth: Remind yourself how far you’ve come - from making the travel team to aiming for academy level. Trust that each step builds on the last, and you’re prepared for this. You’ve got the passion, skills, and determination. Keep going, and trust that you’re ready for these challenges. You’re on the right path, and those butterflies will only make you stronger. 💪⚽🧤 Good luck, and keep me updated!
i start watching you today i watched 3 vids and i got lot of informations and solutions of my mistakes im still 11 years old and playing my first league ever my second match is tomorrow thank you
Hey I hope you respond to this I just wanted to ask is there a consistent strategy you use for catching because whenever I’m training I go for the catch and I just can’t I really need help on it in everything else I’m fine
For a set position I have 2 goalkeeper coaches and 1 off them says I need to get my hand palms towards my knee bet the other coach says I need to get my hands open what is better?
Great question! Both approaches have their merits, and the right choice often depends on your personal style and what feels most natural to you. Here’s a breakdown of each: 1. Palms towards knees (neutral position): Pros: This position helps keep your arms relaxed and ready to react quickly. It’s ideal for staying balanced and moving in any direction. When to use it: This works well for situations where you need to react to unexpected shots or sudden changes in play, like deflections or close-range attempts. 2. Hands open (ready-to-catch): Pros: Having your hands slightly open can make it easier to catch or deflect the ball immediately. It’s more aggressive and prepared for incoming shots. When to use it: This is great for dealing with direct shots or situations where you expect to use your hands immediately, like long-range strikes or crosses. What’s better? It depends on your comfort and the scenario. Many keepers use a hybrid of both - starting with palms neutral and quickly adjusting to open hands as the play develops. Try both in training and see which one feels more natural and effective in different situations. At the end of the day, the best set position is the one that allows you to react quickly, stay balanced, and feel confident. Keep working with both coaches to find what works best for you! 💪🧤⚽
I couldn't agree more with what you say.. im an amateur and learned them the hard way too.. By the way I'm a big fan of the Faroe islands national team and im looking for so long a gk jersey to wear in my training! If you could help me with that a 15-years dream will be reality ! Thank you in advance and keep up the good work! ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words and support - it means a lot! 🙌 It’s awesome to hear that you’re such a big fan of the Faroe Islands national team. Their journey is truly inspiring, and I love that you're repping their spirit in your training! As for the goalkeeper jersey, I’d recommend checking out official team stores or specialized sports retailers online: www.fsf.fo - Sometimes, smaller national teams can be tricky to find merchandise for, but you could try reaching out directly to the Faroese Football Association - they might be able to point you in the right direction. I really hope you can get that dream jersey soon! Keep training hard, and thank you for being part of this amazing goalkeeper community. Your passion is inspiring! ❤🧤⚽
I am a goalkeeper and I have a tournament soon but my posture and flexibility is bad and sometimes I got scared and my throwing the ball is not proper can u help me? I have 2 months left
You’ve got two months - that’s plenty of time to make some solid improvements! Here’s how you can tackle each of these issues step by step: 1. Posture Goalkeeping stance: Focus on staying low, balanced, and on the balls of your feet. Your weight should be slightly forward, ready to react. Practice drills: Do drills that emphasize staying in the correct posture, like shuffling side-to-side with your hands ready. 2. Flexibility Stretch daily: Incorporate stretches like the butterfly stretch (for hips), hamstring stretches, and dynamic leg swings. Consistent stretching will improve your range of motion over time. Yoga or mobility exercises: Even short sessions (10-15 minutes) can help with both flexibility and injury prevention. 3. Fear Build confidence slowly: Start practicing with lighter or slower shots to build your confidence handling the ball. Gradually increase speed and intensity as you improve. Focus on the moment: Remind yourself to focus on the play, not the outcome. Staying present can help reduce fear. 4. Throwing the ball Technique practice: Use an underhand or overhand throw, depending on the distance. Work on keeping your arm straight and following through in the direction you’re aiming. Target practice: Use cones or a wall to practice throwing to specific spots. Accuracy will improve with repetition. Stay consistent with your practice, and remember, progress takes time. You’ve got two months to work on these, and with dedication, you’ll feel a lot more confident by the tournament. Good luck - you’ve got this! 💪🧤⚽
I see what he is saying but what about mental and in your mind can you make a vid or tell me what you think about that? Like when you let a goal in and feel like giving up every have that happen to you?
That’s such a great question, and it’s something every goalkeeper has faced at some point. Letting in a goal can feel like the end of the world in the moment, but how you handle it mentally is what separates good keepers from great ones. Here are some thoughts: Reset your mindset: After a goal, give yourself a few seconds to process it, then move on. I like to focus on the next play and remind myself that one goal doesn’t define the entire game. Learn, don’t dwell: Ask yourself, "What can I learn from that goal?" If it was preventable, think about what you’d do differently next time. If it wasn’t, let it go - it’s out of your control. Stay present: Don’t let one mistake snowball into more. Focus on what’s happening right now, not what just happened. Use positive self-talk: Remind yourself of your strengths. Saying things like "I’ve made tougher saves before" or "I’ve got this" can help boost your confidence. Remember it’s a team game: Goals happen, even to the best. It’s not always your fault, and your job is to stay strong for the team. I’ll definitely consider making a video about this because mental strength is such a big part of goalkeeping. Thanks for bringing it up-it’s a super important topic! 💪🧤⚽
hey man another great video man!!! i was wondering if you could maybe send me a pair or 2 of gloves? if not its fine again love the video and watch all your videos!!! just thought i would also share that after watching your videos and using your advice i have improved and my coaches have noticed. I moved from third string keeper to 2nd after a few weeks on my high school varsity team. Thanks man and im still improving cause of you!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words - it means a lot to hear that the videos have helped you improve so much! Moving from third-string to second on your varsity team in just a few weeks is an amazing accomplishment - huge congrats! 🎉💪 As for the gloves, I really appreciate you asking, but unfortunately, I can’t send gloves out right now. It's not as easy as everyone likes to think and so many people are asking me :) That said, keep working hard and applying what you’re learning - it’s clearly paying off! You’ve got the drive and determination to keep climbing higher. Keep at it, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way! 🧤⚽🔥
That’s just the person who struggles I personally struggle with kicking and reaction time and angles just gotta keep practicing keepers are actually meant to have one of the hardest kicks and be one of the fittest and tuffest players on the team not the bigger and weak people you see in younger leagues but just takes practice.
There are so many goalkeepers who can improve their ball control, passing and distribution. Trust me buddy, you're not the only one. But it takes practice, nothing else.
This guy talks utter bollocks istg 😂. I’ve been top goalie in training for literal years now and my coach wants to start me every game if he could. However our manager is the one who builds the squad and idk what he has against me but he has said to me he’d rather have our striker in goal over me even though my coach wants to play me every game. I currently don’t have a club and my coach quit for multiple reasons. Oh and I’m at uni with a Tesco job
Man, that sounds incredibly frustrating! It’s tough when decisions are out of your hands, especially when you’ve clearly proven your abilities in training. Sometimes managers have their own agendas, which unfortunately doesn’t always reflect performance. Don’t let this situation discourage you, though - it’s just a bump in the road. Keep grinding, and maybe consider exploring other clubs where your talent will be fully appreciated. Balancing uni, work, and football isn’t easy, but your dedication will pay off in the long run. Stay strong, and keep pushing forward!

Stretch daily: Incorporate stretches like the butterfly stretch (for hips), hamstring stretches, and dynamic leg swings. Consistent stretching will improve your range of motion over time.
Yoga or mobility exercises: Even short sessions (10-15 minutes) can help with both flexibility and injury prevention.
3. Fear
Build confidence slowly: Start practicing with lighter or slower shots to build your confidence handling the ball. Gradually increase speed and intensity as you improve.
Focus on the moment: Remind yourself to focus on the play, not the outcome. Staying present can help reduce fear.
4. Throwing the ball
Technique practice: Use an underhand or overhand throw, depending on the distance.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping Thank You!
Here are some thoughts:
Reset your mindset: After a goal, give yourself a few seconds to process it, then move on.
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping alright
Thanks 🙏
hey man another great video man!!! i was wondering if you could maybe send me a pair or 2 of gloves? if not its fine again love the video and watch all your videos!!! just thought i would also share that after watching your videos and using your advice i have improved and my coaches have noticed.
As for the gloves, I really appreciate you asking, but unfortunately, I can’t send gloves out right now. It's not as easy as everyone likes to think and so many people are asking me :) That said, keep working hard and applying what you’re learning - it’s clearly paying off! You’ve got the drive and determination to keep climbing higher. Keep at it, and I’m cheering you on every step of the way! 🧤⚽🔥
hey its ok man thanks for the compliments😊again i appreciate all the time you put into videos to us for us so big thanks man!

Congrats ❤️
One question why goalkeeper terrible with their feet..?
That’s just the person who struggles I personally struggle with kicking and reaction time and angles just gotta keep practicing keepers are actually meant to have one of the hardest kicks and be one of the fittest and tuffest players on the team not the bigger and weak people you see in younger leagues but just takes practice.
They probably haven't trained that part enough! :)
That's some great advice :)
@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping how to improve..?
Improve as a goalkeeper? That's a big question. But practice is the most important one :)
🎉
🎉🎉
And in you academy any goalkeeper who related to me..?
There are so many goalkeepers who can improve their ball control, passing and distribution. Trust me buddy, you're not the only one. But it takes practice, nothing else.

Congrats ❤️
@ didn’t think I’d get a response lol. I’ll do my best budda thank you!
Of course buddy :)
Out of context question but are you from the Faroe islands?
haha. Yes, I'm from the Faroe Islands :)
