As someone who used to do really long commutes at night, those HUD devices are fantastic. Get a good one and take the time to set it up right.
I don't have one, but I have considered it. I like the idea, I just wish there were one that's super customizable or doesn't have really tacky fonts or anything. Something a lot like you'd see in a Bimmer, just a nice clean UI.
Would you recommend it for someone whose dash lights went kaput? As in would it be a viable dashboard replacement? At the moment I have a flashlight tacked onto the steering column.

I got one of those chargers for ur phone. It’s a little nice being around $30. But, having the wireless charging with an iPhone is nice cause I use an aux cable and I can’t charge and play music at the same time without it.

Mazda 3 has got a native HUD and I have to say it is quite useful. it's tiny, but it still shows your speed and basic GPS/Navigation directions such as direction and distance to the next turn. it's not essential, but it's cool
This whole episode is just a couple of friends playing with some toys and giggling. Damn. I miss childhood.

Y'all are missing out on that HUD. I bought a cheap $25 one off Amazon a few years ago and it's my favorite device in my car. Plug it into the ODBII and you're ready to go. They're even adjustable for different tire sizes throwing off your speedometer. Got me out of a speeding ticket once too! My dashcam picks up the refection on the windshield so I was able to easily prove my speed when a cop pulled me over instead of the car that was actually speeding. I highly recommend one

I have one of those wireless chargers and they are amazing I use it every day! It’s convenient as it’s not only a phone holder but your phone gets charged at the same time without having to plug it in every time.
@0:17 I don't know if it's the paint and wheel color combo or just the lines of the vehicle or what, but that BMW is extraordinarily eye-catching. That model really stands out from other modern cars.

Tropospheric ozone is awful bc organisms breathe it in and can't use it, stratospheric ozone is good bc it's too high to to be breathed in and it deflect UV radiation.
I've got that wireless phone charger, and it can be a little finicky, but it works like a champ most of the time. Used it for over a year. You probably had your hand to close to the sensor which is why it kept opening. And yes it does pull the vent down...
Independent of my knowledge of this channel, I got a simple HUD (using the same case as the one seen here), with two large green 8-segment digits, and that's all. I put it next to the VIN, and I didn't even apply the reflector decal (though now that I see it's static cling, I might try it). Works fantastic, haven't seen my info cluster in months.

I work Avionics on F-15C fighter jets... a Heads up Display is LITERALLY just a display that points up and gets reflected by some glass which is in the middle of your view. It's kinda cray how simple the whole thing is.

Most of what you just said is petroleum based (straws, engine oil, car things, plastic cups) and therefore to a certain degree carcinogenic
These claims are not stupid, rather we should not ignore the dangerous nature of the chemicals we create in the 21st century. The key difference is that in their natural form as they appear on products we buy they are inert, but should you burn any of these objects, or ingest them in any other way, then they would surely increase your risk of cancer

Actually have been using a wireless charger in my car for a while. It's not the style and brand shown in here but have been happily using it for a while and glad to have it. It has auto arms too which is actually pretty convenient. Plus it came with an actual arm stand with a suction cup and not just the air vent attatchment.

Guys I can not tell you how much I love the whole Donut Media Team, you have saved my teaching Auto in a high school during lockdown life. Plus I get all the humor that my students miss and they say "why are you laugh so much Grant?"
When driving for a food delivery service (DoorDash, GrubHub, etc) where you're potentially in and out of your car a lot, the 'wireless charging' phone mount is super convenient. I have a higher quality version that mounts to the dash and I love it. I have to bring my phone in with me to verify/mark orders, so being able to just set and charge/go is great. It's not even about saved time, it's just the convenience. It looks like your team went with the cheaper one for budgetary reasons (which I totally get), but there are $30-$50 options that work very well and even support wireless fast charging (note that it's wireless charging to your phone, not a wire free mount). You need to really look at the reviews though because some of the cheap ones flop or don't charge well, as seen in this video. What did you really expect from a $20 mount with a 3 star rating though? Your team should've known better, which is a bit disappointing. If a follow-up is done in the future, definitely go for a higher rated option and give it a go (try the dash mount vs the vent mount too, as each has their pros/cons). Great video overall, but I do see your team did the SAME thing with a few items hoping they'd fail for content. Up the budget and you won't be as disappointed (maybe still a tad).
I bought a simple hud that shows MPH so that I can keep my eyes level on the road while driving. After a work accident and a bad head injury in 2012 I have a bad inner ear problem, and not having to look down and up constantly keeps it from really kicking off to the point I get dizzy.

Just to let you know, the phone holder works. It detects when you're reaching for it and unclamps the phone, and stops charging when it does. As long as it's the same or similar to the one my bf has. If it is, definitely a really cool product.
As long as your phone has a wireless charging coil built into the back of it or you get one of the ones that plugs into the bottom of your phone and you just stick it in back your case

@@realwiggles Wireless when it comes to phone charging doesn't mean wireless anyway since the charger still has a wire. There is really no actual benefit to wireless charging over wired
@@connoc5078 yes it does. A wireless charger is named as such because the connection between the phone and charger is wireless. Obviously the charger itself has to be plugged in, but the actual charging method itself is wireless because it doesn't require a wired connection between the phone and charger. Why would this not be considered wireless. In one situation you simply place your phone on top of something to charge it, whereas the other requires you to plug a wire into your phone. Also, wireless chargers offer no benefits over wired chargers? What about not having to plug your phone in? My car has a wireless charger and it's definitely more convenient to set my phone down on it versus having to plug and unplug it every time I get in and out.

I have an expensive version of the phone holder and it’s a game changer. I love mine. It’s sturdy, hold and charges my phone and I never have to hook up any wires, I get wireless charging and Bluetooth for my phone and it’s so awesome!
The heads up display works pretty much the same way as a factory hud. The windshield is actually specific if you have the option and when you get a new windshield and if they put the wrong one it doesn’t mirror the hud and you can’t see it. The display basically displays mirrored gauges and they are mirrored from the windshield so they are right side up when you look at it from the driver seat.

When you live in a country that has insane levels of speeding fines+points and an insane amount of speed cameras/average speed cameras where you literally have to look at your speedo more than the road such as in Australia, the HUD is very very useful, the one I have just plugs straight into the OBD2 port and sits on the dash and works well
I have started doing my own work on my truck and have randomly found this channel. Now I have new ideas

The heads-up display GPS speedometer was a godsend for my JDM Cappuccino and R32 Skyline Gee-Dee-Arh. Both of which has the speedo in KPH. It displayed the speed in MPH for Americuh.
