If he had just run away from home he might have had his years of living alone. Killing his family was so horrible and delusional. He set the police onto him immediately.
Definitely a screw loose ... I can see wanting to go live out in the woods but why murder your family? Even if you don't say goodbye, just dip out.
He cared so much about his family that he didn't consider that
they would want a fighting chance in the event of the world going
up in smoke. And if he loved his family, he would have dug a bigger hole.
These guys believe they own their family and can have dominion over them. He’s a a-hole.
Wow. I can't can't believe this is the first time I'm hearing this story. Thanks so much for covering it. I am sure that there are a lot of hardworking people who can relate to his frustrations of the daily grind, but would never do what he did. Let this be a cautionary tale to others depressed/crazy enough to indulge the thought.

Sometimes I feel like dropping out of society but I thought it would be disassociating not robbing people and killing people. 😢
I really do understand the desire to just disappear. I don't understand the desire to also disappear others against their will. As a more extreme example, people who self-terminate and people that self-terminate while taking the entire plane down with them are two different breeds.

The biggest question I have is how did this guy attain a good looking wife and daughter?
His wife said she wasn’t interested in him or attracted to him, but she wanted to be a mother and her sister convinced her to marry this dude because he could give her financial stability. His wife literally settled for him.

That he would think this way is either insane or evil. He'd built a pretty good life. That life may have been boring in some respects, but life is always boring in some respects.
Its evident how social media (whether he posted his videos or at some point going to, or just to be viewed after capture) has given people courage like only drugs and alcohol once gave, chronicling each stage of his plan, continuing, recording each step to maintain the courage, like taking a drink, building it up, to see it through until the end. Little did he know that his wife and daughter would have probably been fine with him taking off to live under ground somewhere, didn't have to kill them or the cat and dog, just give me fifteen minutes with him for killing the cat, that's all I ask

So here’s a guy that probably saved all his life then got married to a girl who ended up not being able to work, I’d love to know the reasons for this. Why did he kill them it makes no sense. He could have just left and lived off grid for so much longer. Either his excuse was he thought they couldn’t survive without him or he resented the thought of her not working which led to his demise. I say this being he did mention her draining all the savings. He was obviously tired of working everyday without gaining anything. I’ll never understand why people feel they need to take others down with them.
She had a work place injury. Meaning she had an income at one point. That's what happened. You are also glossing over the fact he spent money on his bunker, provisions for the bunker and guns/ammo. How much could he possibly be hurting financially? He drained his own finances. He could have just ran away but he chose to unlive his family. You're making it sound like his wife drained him and he snapped. He planned this and money had nothing to do with it.
Exactly. He said he spent thousands on his bunker. And he pulled six grand out of the bank and had it in the bunker.
@@lynnb5726 no I said the exact same thing actually, if he thought she was draining him why not just leave?? I mention her not working because she seemed very capable of getting around well in the videos, and perhaps every single non working disabled person I know gets around better than I do.

All I can say is wow!!... But I myself am a survivalist. In the event of an economic collapsing situation, I will use my skills to help others, not just be by myself living in a hole in the ground. I come from a country Georgia family and for generations we've grown gardens, fished and hunted. But this is some crazy doomsday shizz.

This man was lonely. He had no one to share his problems with. Do any of you have such friends that you know everything about. Do you help your friends with their problems? The scariest part is that he appeared to be in a loving household. Perfect husband and father. No fighting or anger issues and nobody suspected anything was abnormal. That's bone-chilling.
He definitely went totally nuts and the world is a better place without him. The wife, disabled? What is the real story with that, legitimate? I can’t help but think that was a contributing factor, with a wife that sits at home, doing nothing, no cleaning, no cooking and doing arts/crafts? WTH.. Their poor daughter, her life ahead of her murdered, so sad.

I'm from Washington St, never heard of this case. What a waste of time, money and lives. Like in most cases, he should of just either left without letting anyone know or get a divorce but he was worried about the financial component and mental illness.
