I think that’s great, and I also think it’s totally fine when people believe God personally intervened in their lives for the better, but I can’t help but constantly wonder if that’s how God works. I mean, he gave us free will for a reason, and for him to also manipulate the causality of our reality and free will is arguably contradicting. The scenario that makes most sense I’d propose is that God created everything, including this world and reality, but he purposely spun it into motion in order for it to unfold in its own natural way. I know there is a reason for literally everything to varying extents, though that’s how I think best explains the good and more importantly explains how and why the horrible things that occurs in this life happen. And of course I could be totally wrong and if I’m going against the teachings of scripture, then I greatly apologize to God as that would be blasphemous, but I sincerely don’t understand how God’s intervention in personal day-to-day settings could be the most consistent explanation. Your thoughts?

Five years ago my government closed the higher education institute where I worked my whole career after finishing my education (23 years). With an excellent education, reputation professionally (national award for my work), and many contacts, even though I knew in prayer about 5 years in advance, I never worried because I was sure I'd get many job offers, since I had job offers almost monthly while I was still working. Then my institute closed and NO jobs materialized. Too educated, too experienced for the private sector (they wanted inexpensive new graduates they wouldn't need to give contracts or benefits to). Long story short, I had a long experience of learning how little I really relied on God. But in six years, while I've been quite poor, I've never been homeless or unable to pay bills. God always provides, and in fact, I realized yesterday that the flat I'm in now I could not have afforded while working. I am poor. But I'm so sure of God's providence that I have no anxiety.
God bless you! I was homeless for three years and it was a nightmare. But God used it to bring me closer to him. I’m so grateful for the roof over my head and I met my roommate at my Catholic Church!

I can only share what I did in shutting out the world and then the other thing was that accepted the Lord Jesus Christ again by making a commitment to him and turning my life over. I stopped living in the flesh and cut out pre-marital sex, i cut off cable, TV, stay off of 99% of social media. I got on my knees and cried to him asking him to forgive me of my sins. I asked him to make me whole. I started reading the bible starting at the first book of Genesis.. I learned to fast by removing whatever things i was addicted to (like coffee) for a short period of time just to get to used to it, then over time extended those periods of fasting like i did one week they the next month if I was being reliant on it again, Id do it for two weeks. . Ive taken fasts from coffee, meat, meals until a certain time, sodas, alcohol, sugar, social media all at different intervals. Like deciding to fast with no food for 8 hours of my day, Id pray before i ate and what that did, it helped me feel his presence. Every night i read a few chapters of the bible of whatever book Im reading and write down passages to discuss with a bible study (there's plenty of them online). Play praise and worship music. Speak to the Lord often, cry to him. Ask him to give you strength, to remove fear from your life and always thank him for everything in your life. But the most important thing is find a spiritual group for support. Friends in Christ are going to be the biggest support for your journey. I pray this helps. While Ive always been a believer, this journey of me doing the work to cast all non God influence out of my life just started last March when this evil pandemic had me so fearful that something was not right. Loving the Lord is work but the reward is priceless and there's NOTHING like him. I pray that for you. I pray the Holy Spirit fill you and when you start, i pray the most that you hear the Lord's voice. It is the most awesome thing to hear him speak to us and answer us. He loves us and if you look for him, you will not only find him but see that he was waiting for you this whole time. God bless you my friend- big hugs!!

I'm praying for you, Basil. Never give up. Jesus defeated Satan and crushed the head of that serpent. I pray that Our Lord guide you on what to do. Although I do not have any advice for the psychological aspect of things, I have some insights on the spiritual battle that we are all in. Through my own experience I have found that our usual Catholic practices bring peace and they protect us in the spiritual battle against evil. Practices such as spending time with Jesus in prayer everyday, even for just some minutes. Going to Holy Mass every Sunday and receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion, going to the Sacrament of Penance once a month. The Sacraments make us strong and keep us in God's protection. Most of all, staying in sanctifying grace makes us strong. The devil is powerless against us when we are in a state of sanctifying grace when the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Staying away from mortal sin also protects us from evil. Practicing the virtues, especially Faith Hope and Charity, and humility , purity and forgiveness. It is said that when we live the virtues for Jesus' sake, the devil is afraid of us. Praying the Rosary. Reading the Bible at my own pace. And having good holy friends and having good clean fun, and being kind to myself and to others. I hope that my observations may offer some insights for you. I pray for your complete healing.

I am sitting here crying, thinking about who I can trust and how I can become closer to Jesus. I was raised a Jehovahs witness and that turned me away from God for so long. Our host/bodies were made from the earth but our souls were made in heaven and this is why our souls are eternal. Everything made in heaven is eternal and that's why God made hell an eternal place cause it has to hold eternal beings [satan, the fallen angels and damned souls] for eternity. We were all damned to hell thousands of years ago but then Jesus came and countered satans move and saved us from our sins, if we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. The only way to have a personal relationship with Father God is through Jesus Christ ONLY. That's why if you say, "yeah, I believe in god and I will go to heaven bc I'm good" without mentioning Jesus Christ, your "god" is satan if you didnt find God through Jesus Christ.

He went constantly to interviews, but we are Christians & God opened door for us to go to Maui. So my kids never really "got" into the business. I think that’s great, and I also think it’s totally fine when people believe God personally intervened in their lives for the better, but I can’t help but constantly wonder if that’s how God works.
I mean, he gave us free will for a reason, and for him to also manipulate the causality of our reality and free will is arguably contradicting.
The scenario that makes most sense I’d propose is that God created everything, including this world and reality, but he purposely spun it into motion in order for it to unfold in its own natural way.
I know there is a reason for literally everything to varying extents, though that’s how I think best explains the good and more importantly explains how and why the horrible things that occurs in this life happen.
And of course I could be totally wrong and if I’m going against the teachings of scripture, then I greatly apologize to God as that would be blasphemous, but I sincerely don’t understand how God’s intervention in personal day-to-day settings could be the most consistent explanation. Your thoughts?

Five years ago my government closed the higher education institute where I worked my whole career after finishing my education (23 years). With an excellent education, reputation professionally (national award for my work), and many contacts, even though I knew in prayer about 5 years in advance, I never worried because I was sure I'd get many job offers, since I had job offers almost monthly while I was still working. Then my institute closed and NO jobs materialized. Too educated, too experienced for the private sector (they wanted inexpensive new graduates they wouldn't need to give contracts or benefits to). Long story short, I had a long experience of learning how little I really relied on God. But in six years, while I've been quite poor, I've never been homeless or unable to pay bills. God always provides, and in fact, I realized yesterday that the flat I'm in now I could not have afforded while working. I am poor. But I'm so sure of God's providence that I have no anxiety.
God bless you! I was homeless for three years and it was a nightmare. But God used it to bring me closer to him. I’m so grateful for the roof over my head and I met my roommate at my Catholic Church!

I can only share what I did in shutting out the world and then the other thing was that accepted the Lord Jesus Christ again by making a commitment to him and turning my life over. I stopped living in the flesh and cut out pre-marital sex, i cut off cable, TV, stay off of 99% of social media. I got on my knees and cried to him asking him to forgive me of my sins. I asked him to make me whole. I started reading the bible starting at the first book of Genesis.. I learned to fast by removing whatever things i was addicted to (like coffee) for a short period of time just to get to used to it, then over time extended those periods of fasting like i did one week they the next month if I was being reliant on it again, Id do it for two weeks. . Ive taken fasts from coffee, meat, meals until a certain time, sodas, alcohol, sugar, social media all at different intervals. Like deciding to fast with no food for 8 hours of my day, Id pray before i ate and what that did, it helped me feel his presence. Every night i read a few chapters of the bible of whatever book Im reading and write down passages to discuss with a bible study (there's plenty of them online). Play praise and worship music. Speak to the Lord often, cry to him. Ask him to give you strength, to remove fear from your life and always thank him for everything in your life. But the most important thing is find a spiritual group for support. Friends in Christ are going to be the biggest support for your journey. I pray this helps. While Ive always been a believer, this journey of me doing the work to cast all non God influence out of my life just started last March when this evil pandemic had me so fearful that something was not right. Loving the Lord is work but the reward is priceless and there's NOTHING like him. I pray that for you. I pray the Holy Spirit fill you and when you start, i pray the most that you hear the Lord's voice. It is the most awesome thing to hear him speak to us and answer us. I'm praying for you, Basil. Never give up. Jesus defeated Satan and crushed the head of that serpent. I pray that Our Lord guide you on what to do. Although I do not have any advice for the psychological aspect of things, I have some insights on the spiritual battle that we are all in. Through my own experience I have found that our usual Catholic practices bring peace and they protect us in the spiritual battle against evil. Practices such as spending time with Jesus in prayer everyday, even for just some minutes. Going to Holy Mass every Sunday and receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion, going to the Sacrament of Penance once a month. The Sacraments make us strong and keep us in God's protection. Most of all, staying in sanctifying grace makes us strong. The devil is powerless against us when we are in a state of sanctifying grace when the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Staying away from mortal sin also protects us from evil. Practicing the virtues, especially Faith Hope and Charity, and humility , purity and forgiveness. It is said that when we live the virtues for Jesus' sake, the devil is afraid of us. Praying the Rosary. Reading the Bible at my own pace. And having good holy friends and having good clean fun, and being kind to myself and to others. I hope that my observations may offer some insights for you. I pray for your complete healing.
