Although this is a rehearsal I think this works better than the final version. The hair is better somehow---expressive of her experience. Kudos to the costume designer! I wish that we had access to this kind of theatre in the USA. I'm Helen's biggest fan:) Wish I knew Swedish--I have the genes...
@KatAmbrose This is from Harry Martinsson's Aniara which is an epic sci-fi poem from the 50's (no less!!) . It's brilliant and you can find it in English on Amazon. Her role is the poetess.
Everything she does is perfect! Her voice control is magnificent. Perfect tone control. Difficult aria. But Martinsson and Blomdahl should be overwhelmed. I love her
Fantastisk musik rakt igenom föreställningen - tack Kleerup!
So the wind turned Someone said that the shadow under the trees Evermore like the frost became white As if this green grass was summer's hair Which hastily aged and froze into ice
I stood quiet and frozen there in the darkness And only heard everything that I held dear Disappear in a dark and icy wind And summer soon lay dead in the land of Rind
So the wind turned around The black heat came
Later I fell straight into someone's arms Someone who came running and screamed I didn't know whom in this darkness Who caught me when both my legs gave out
If it was a devil or a human Because the roar increased to a hurricane And he who held me screamed much louder Shield your eyes, it's coming soon
So the wind turned around The black heat came
Then I made my voice as shrill as I could And yelled back to him, 'I am blind And therefore shielded, I have never seen But only ever felt the land of Rind'
Then the man let go of me and ran for his life I don't know where in the night's hot roar That suddenly only could be deafened By fearsome thunder from far away
So the wind turned around The black heat came
I managed to reach a rocky crevice There the heat was not so intolerably hard And someone carried me through the night The time that followed became my fatal year
I learned the great shriek's braille On the faces I touched with my hand Now I am the singer in the third hall And never will return to my land

Not sure if you want them in english or if you can understand swedish, either way here is a link with both. The english translation seemed pretty good when i glanced through it. lyricstranslatecom/en/s%C3%A5-v%C3%A4nde-vinden-so-wind-turned.html
What a singing lesson....what a lesson of interpetation.....she's abstolutly unique !!! I do not understand a word of Suedish, but i'm gone with her....
Does anyone know where I can read the lyrics? I´d love to be able to analyze them further once I know what they all are. She´s very articulate though, can hear almost all of it.

The poem does not go into depth about the war that burned Xinombra and made Earth uninhabitable. Personally, I believe the Blind Poet describes the use of an atomic device on her city in Rind.
Denna låt, hennes röst, musik ock känslor... allt är fantastiska ! Perfect 👌 ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️👏👏👏👏
Mrs Sjöholm
What ever you give her
She deliver.....
This is just one of several act´s by her that are bulls eye.
Respect!!!
Otroligt vackert... teater/opera besök hamnade direkt på min to-do lista. Tack Kleerup, tack Helen.
I'm impressive with this song and her performance. I felt like being transported to another world of sadness and sorrow. Just beautiful.

Absolutely fantastic. So much feeling.
Although this is a rehearsal I think this works better than the final version. The hair is better somehow---expressive of her experience. Kudos to the costume designer! I wish that we had access to this kind of theatre in the USA. I'm Helen's biggest fan:) Wish I knew Swedish--I have the genes...
I'm listening to this piece of music while watching a video of a TGV cab ride of a TGV train speeding through France.
The music fits the video well.
Gåsehud! Utrolig bra.
Wow. Helen can certainly do dramatic. A hypnotic atmospheric performance. Great.
Really liked this video! All the best!!

Everything she does is perfect! Her voice control is magnificent. Perfect tone control. Difficult aria. But Martinsson and Blomdahl should be overwhelmed. I love her
Absorbingly and powerfully sad. Never thought voice and words can do that.

Sounds great, check out Seventh Wonders song based on Aniara "The Great Escape"
fantastic
Dont understand a single word, but damn this sounds beautiful.
Here is the translation: lyricstranslate.com/en/s%C3%A5-v%C3%A4nde-vinden-so-wind-turned.html
So the wind turned
Someone said that the shadow under the trees
Evermore like the frost became white

Ingen aning faktiskt.

lyricstranslatecom/en/s%C3%A5-v%C3%A4nde-vinden-so-wind-turned.html
The link doesn't work because the search engine won't do Swedish letters - instead type in: lyricstranslate.com so wind turned
Vackert!

Appreciate the thought. Both English and swedish together would be perfect, but unfortunately the link doesn´t work..
What a singing lesson....what a lesson of interpetation.....she's abstolutly unique !!!

Vet du om hela föreställningen spelades in? För TV eller video alltså?
Aniara
@TheFirstStranger Jag såg samma föreställning! Jag hade sån gåshud.
Blev helt förtrollad..
Black heat - Black oil.
The poem does not go into depth about the war that burned Xinombra and made Earth uninhabitable. Personally, I believe the Blind Poet describes the use of an atomic device on her city in Rind.
Flotte!
