I have exactly opposite problem. My car is 3.8. Computer is 3.7. How can I flash when bad ecm is latest calibration, so I have no reflash option for update. I had a no charge condition. With 3.7 ecm the 3.8 will not start. Cranks but bucks starter from different cam/crank signals.
not sure what you are asking. On most Chrysler products (as far as I know ) you do not have to program keys when replacing the PCM the keys are stored in the Skim, Skreem, Win, Wcm, BCM or RFH. Normal to have to do the ETC learn for the throttle.
@@BrianMann216 When the programming was completed the security light was flashing and the car wouldn’t stay running, so I had to do the program the keys. It my first time doing it so maybe I did something wrong. It was a rebuild ecm from the dealer. Thanks for responding and I appreciate the videos you have🙏
Hi Brian After I reflash MY 2015 Jeep Wrangler PCM. I got a message say the the update successfully done I turned the engine off and on then i start getting P1602 No programming in the PCM through Witech now PCM has no VIN or any other information. I tried to reflash it again but its keep failds. any suggestions? Thanks
Hey brian. Im stuck on 2019 charger with 6.2 engine. I wasn't able to write vin using autel so i followed this method of using the micropod 2 with witech2 and all goes well except the used computer still have its original vin. Any ideas?
do you think that would change the vin in the used pcm because this is my issue now, not security. It looks like they are doing it as the abs module where you can't use used one due to inability to change vin.
One good Question here. I have a 2013 Dodge charger Police car, with no proximity keys, its a push start, and tried everything to program keys but failed. Any suggestion or help will be appreciated. Police car was bought by a used card dealer from auction. -Witech wont communicate since there are no keys. No ignition on. - should i replace ecm and rfh module?
One a chrysler if pcm cal ids is the same all you need tobdobis the pcm replacement function in the wcm/ skim / skreem/ win/ rfh or what ever they decide to have as the security module.
Wi tech is pretty easy once set up..if used pcm cal id is not the same as the og be sure to id with the og if it still has comm. Get to the flash screen, then key off and swap pcms , key on and program.. security is easy if you get pin code. Go to wcm and them pcm replaced function.. did a 08 wrangler yesterday..
@@cornbinder1970 the same process, ID with the original, and swap as in the video. WI Tech will almost always allow you to reflash with the same part # / calibration ID (it may prompt you saying that you are flashing with the same PN). I do have other videos showing when there is no update available.
you need to plug the old PCM to look up the right calibration you said? Really? what if you have a failed PCM that wont communicate with the micropod? just how are you going to know the calibration number? you have a VIN and that's all you need, witech will have the most up to date calibration for that particular VIN number. am I wrong??
Thanks for watching and the question . If you have a used PCM with the wrong calibration Wi tech will not over wright it with the proper the cal id , It will pull the improper cal Id and flash / program the same wrong cal id into the vehicle. "what if you have a failed PCM that wont communicate with the micropod? just how are you going to know the calibration number? " This is true if you have a "blank" PCM ecm(they have the generic PN / CAL ID that WiTech recognizes and then will "look" at the vin to determine the proper cal ID. Also one reason to check and look up the PN of the cal id is that some times you will see the base Part number of the calibration change, it is not often but it does happen, IE a 05793442AK may update to a 67451234AB (totally made up #s) So there is the possibility{very slim} that that used PCM with a totally different authorized software update # could still be a valid cal id for the vehicle. An experiment for you to try , get a older witech Chrysler 08 -12? ( not sure what years will work) ID it with the key off forcing witech to prompt you for a VIN, get another vin for the same year but different model and different engine, type in that vin, and after you get into the vehicle then turn the key on and go to the PCM and see if the cal ids are proper for the wrong vin you typed in. The cal id that witech reads and wants to update will not be based on the vin you typed in but based on the pcm that is in the vehicle. Thanks for taking the time to ask a question, If I am wrong or not explaining properly, or if you have a better way please do share, I am always looking for better ways. BTW I have used pcm in a 2010 journey video about to come out, same exact situation, now that I am thinking about it wi tech would be reading the "wrong" vin off a used PCM right?
I just remembered I am headed back in a few days or so to do another used pcm on a 2010 journey that I am in the process of making a video of. This will be a great opportunity for me to show what I stated in the previous reply.
@@BrianMann216 if the calibration is unknown or the wrong VIN was entered and messed up everything, then I guess you have to completely wiped out the software on the PCM. I don't think the micropod is capable of doing that, I just replaced a PCM on a 08 jeep wrangler. it's not a new PCM but rather remanufactured, there is no software, it's a blank module and needs software to be downloaded in to it once you plug it in to the car's engine harness. I'm pretty sure that core is going back to get repaired and the software will be wiped out. but I agreed with you somehow, there are things that I'm willing to try with that micropod now that I just started using it. I do know that if you put a used PCM on the latest Chrysler models can corrupt the whole bunch and become a hot, and very expensive mistake, and the technician been liable for the damage.
@@evoixdelaluz I do not have experience with late model used modules in chryslers and I am well aware of the issues you may have from it. The point I am trying to share is that there are workarounds. I have been using witech since 2013 If I took a best estimateI think I have programmed around 2500 chryslers, and I used to get calls from local Chrysler dealers in pinch to do used modules PCM's, it was funny when they would say they can't do them, and I would be there using the oe tool to get the job done, of course they caught on and I don't hear from them. Thanks for the chat, have a great day.

To the best of my knowledge doing pcm replaced function in the rfh, or wcm writes the vim, unless you are dealing with fiat platform.
