This is the anteroposterior diameter , normal value up to 4 cm . It may be useful to mention other measurements of the LA . Thank you for your excellent presentation
Hello from California, USA! Im in Echo school right now and have been following you on instagram. I am so excited you started a channel.. Thanks for sharing!
Hello! I work under the British society of Echocardiography guidelines so here they recommend inner edge to inner edge. Always check your guidelines and echo lab protocols.
@@the_echo_lady thank you, yes I figured that you probably don't work under ASE, that is why I wanted to let those that work in the US know what ASE suggests. To be fair I do like inner to inner better but I have to follow ASE.
@@Demiigodd thank you for that! Yes we work under the BSE, however even in the UK there is some echo labs that have their own rules and keep measuring leading edge to leading edge. So it really depends on where you are...
hi Madam, thanks for your valuable videos, but in one of the videos you mentioned that LA is measured inner edge to inner edge, but ASE guidelines say Leading edge to leading edge ( Reference ASE Guidelines Table-11 )
Hello, I work under BSE guidelines and in this guidelines we measure inner edge to inner edge... It's a bit different in every country so always check your guidelines
0:14 MEASURE THE DIAMETER PERPENDICULAR FROM THE POSTERIOR AORTIC WALL TO THE POSTERIOR LEFT ATRIAL WALL. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO INDEX YOUR VAUES FROM BODY SURFACE AREA
What if you get a weird shaped LA and it was also off axis? Would you still measure perpendicular? Also can you tell me where on the ekg the end ventricular dystole would be. Thank you.
All atriums are different, use the same technique and always compare with volume and area to make your final decision if it is dilated or not. End of diastole at the QRS. But to measure the LA you need to be at end of ventricular systole.
Hello Salman, normally I don't mention any normal ranges as this values are different between countries. I don't know where are you from but just ask in your department which guidelines they follow and search for normal values :)

Excellent initiative dear echo lady. Highly recommended videos.
Nice short lecture for LA measurement, short and and clear ,thank you
Thanks to you! ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! ... Would you like to see one about volumes? 🥰
@@the_echo_lady yes thanx a lot
Left atrium size 2.9 it is normal

Hello!!!... That's great! I wish you all the best ❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨✨✨
Thanks for making this video! Would love one on left atrial volume. Thanks again!
Yes!!!! I will ... Thank you very much!
Nice. Please show me full echo management like LA, LV, RA, RV, IVSs, IVSd, EF etc. Normal and abnormal both please. Thanks for your valuable videos
Thank you very much!!!!
Love your videos and Instagram! Please make more. So helpful!
Thank you... I will! ❤️
If you are in the US know that the ASE suggests measuring leading edge to leading edge so from outer edge to inner edge.

Very good and simple method of demonstration
Thank you
Incredible! Thank you

another vedio for all LA measures..pls
Fantastic!!

Great 👍
Thanks :)
Where is the end of ventricular systolic on the ekg?
End of T wave or where you can see the smallest cavity size
Awesome 👏🏽
Thank u.

Nice drawing

At which site we draw the line perpendicularly?
Its well explained in the video... but from the posterior wall of the aorta to the posterior wall of the left atrium.
@@the_echo_lady I meant horizontally
@@user-cc4kq6hl4c You can measure the length from the apical views... Measuring from the MV annulus to the LA roof ...

so helpful
Thank you 🫀✨
Can u post videos of screening echo step by step
I have videos about that already
Can u share me that link.

Where is the left atrial diameter measured and which view gives the most precise left atrial diameter measurement ?
The antero posterior diameter should be measured in the parasternal long axis view
Lovely 🌹
💚
Please tell step by step how to measure LAV
Hello! I already have a video on my channel on how to measure left atrial volume! Have a look
so accurate
Thank you 🫀✨
What is ventricular systole?
When the ventricles contract
