That’s amazing! When I was living in Texas, the best thing that you could find for hunting arrowheads was a dried out arroyo - an area next to a stream that water has carved in its path to the stream. Of course, it doesn’t hurt, if the stream itself is low!

What a wholesome video. I love the addition of the cats and aww that turtle with it's little wheels. It's just such a nice, uplifting video. You seem lovely. I love opal.
That was a lot of beautiful opal in a relatively short video! You've got some great stones lying around! I am particularly charmed by that black colourful arrowhead in that left bottle. Makes me wonder what else you've got stashed away! ;) Thanks for the video!

I remember commenting about seeing your opal on the Wikipedia page and you confirming it about a year or so ago. Great to see you got around to cutting it, they both turned out really nice. I've never experienced the aura you spoke about, but then again I've only cut a few really high quality opals like the ones you make videos about. I hope you show us these two finished and set in jewelry. I wouldn't mind seeing a video or two about what your gemstones look like after they've been set in jewelry. I bet they're amazing. Thanks for another great video, I'm excited about you potentially making them more often.
I appreciate your continued support, ieatcaribou7852! It's always great to hear from long-time viewers like you. What a beautiful collection of opal you have had the foresight to collect over the years Don. As usual your standard of educational and factual content continues to hit the spot time and time again. Holy crap, that black arrowhead 5:34 is off the charts beautiful. And I'm not a big fan of arrowheads. Sorry Colonel. I know how much you enjoy making them. I would gladly have that and although I'm not prepared to fight Sookie for it, I feel I may have a chance up against an un-armed Sheila. BTW, she's looking rather fetching today in her blue énsémble. 'Fetching'. Strange. Anyway, I'd just like to say that I'd love to come and stay at your palatial mansion you quietly showed off at 1:15 Thanks for a great catch up. Loved the round up with Hopper. It was a nice, if terrifyingly cute finish. PS: Bruce is such a babe.
No need to apologize, annakeye! Opinions vary, and I appreciate your honesty. That black arrowhead does have its charm. As for staying at my "palatial mansion," well, it's always open to opal lovers! Bruce is a keeper! I've had a handful of good sized rough opals that were 100% color after cutting. Definitely, something special about them. Best of mine were from Andamooka, however. Still in my personal collection. That is to say, neither my wife nor my daughters have yet to successfully claim ownership of those final beautiful gems. Battle for ownership will be more heated once I put them into settings.
Amazing stones, but I think you may still have the wiki opal somewhere in your stash. Bruce, when in the rough had a sandy layer on the top and bottom, whereas the wiki opal clearly has white potch on the top surface and looks to be clean on the bottom. No sand observed. Feel free to send it my way when you find it! Thanks for the great vids. Cheers!
You've got a sharp eye, Fossildrew! You might be onto something there. If I come across the wiki opal in my stash, I'll be sure to keep you in mind. Thanks for the keen observation and for enjoying the videos! Cheers! 😄🌟🪨

It's funny how you say you want to put up more videos in the future the same day I find the time to watch the previous videos. Since I own a faceting machine now, I may try to use it on some opal cabs. I mean, shouldn't it be possible with some soft laps?
Timing is everything, isn't it? Using your faceting machine on opal cabs can be a fun experiment. Soft laps can work, just take it slow and steady. Enjoy your opal cutting journey! 😄🔍🔮
Haha, while it's a creative thought, the red in opals usually comes from iron oxide, not horse blood. Opal formation is quite an interesting geological process. 😄🔮🐴

Bruce had his moments of charm, but that black opal arrowhead steals the spotlight, doesn't it, Trish002? Opals have a way of captivating us with their beauty. 😍🪨🌟
@@PulitzerOpal they sure do!
As soon as they are brought to the light, they weave their magic spells on us ✨️
Something, something patience virtue. I guess they're right. I think both Robin and Bruce deserve a round of applause. Plus that little wheeled speed demon in the middle of the video. What a striking gentleman!
Patience can indeed pay off, noniefuss! Robin, Bruce, and our little wheeled speed demon appreciate the applause. Opals and furry friends make a great team! 😄👏🐾🪨
As always a good show where knowledge surrounds fun! I love sookie she's so cute!
Glad you enjoyed the blend of knowledge and fun! Sookie is quite the character, adding that extra touch of charm. 😸🔮👍
Bruce is a gorgeous stone! You did a fantastic job cutting it.
I absolutely love your opal arrowheads! Someday, I would love to see them all lined out next to each other.
Thank you, Lauren! Bruce is indeed a beauty, and opal arrowheads have their unique charm. Lining them all up sounds like a great idea for a future video! 😄🔮🏹🌟
Love the play of the peacock blue and the purple in Bruce.
Your Pulitzer present looked homely.
Thanks for appreciating the play of colors in Bruce! Opals like him can be quite mesmerizing. And my opal adventure setup does have a homely charm, doesn't it? 😄🔮🌈🏡
I love the kitty growl at the end!
Future Pulitzer Opal has brought out such beautiful colors in them opals.
Haha, Sookie's got some spunk in her! Cats add a fun twist to the videos. 😸🎬
Happy new year buddy
Always happy to see your videos pop up 🇬🇧🫡
Happy New Year to you too, mate! 🎉🇬🇧 Opals and videos are always here to brighten the days.
Love all your arrowheads. The cats had me laughing again too! Good to see you back. Greetings from Dimboola, in Victoria, Australia 🇦🇺 😊.
Another Aussie who appreciates flintknapping? Awesome!
Thank you, Nancy! The kitties always bring some laughter to the videos. Greetings to you in Dimboola, Victoria, Australia! 😄🔮🐱🌏🇦🇺
@@aussieflintknapping I had only seen them at museums. Seeing them made, gives you an appreciation of the very fine skills that must be involved. Know your rock. Know your tools and how to use them. Yeah. I'm just an old girl that loves rocks. Greetings from Dimboola in Victoria
Your videos always bring a a smile to my face. Opals and cats are a good combination. Read-eared Terrapin, -Trachemys scripta elegans. They must not be imported into EU anymore, they are perceived as invasive. I myself had 2 for many years, but without roller skates😄. Beware!! They can live up to 20 years in the wild, and can live up to 40 yers in captivity. Best regards Jane from Denmark 🇩🇰
I'm delighted to bring a smile to your face, Udgaard01! Opals and cats do make a fantastic combination, and it's interesting to hear about the Red-eared Terrapins. Thanks for the info, and it's always great to connect with opal enthusiasts from around the world. Best regards to you, Jane, from Denmark! 🌍🐱🐢😄
Beautiful stones. Looking forward to more content. Regards from Scotland.
Thanks for the regards from Scotland! Opals have a universal appeal, don't they? Stay tuned for more opal adventures! 😄🏴🔮🌟
@@PulitzerOpal no other jewel manages to combine seemingly infinite depth with endless variation. Truly no two are alike whereas a 2Ct diamond is indistinguishable from another of the same 5 C's.
Past Pulitzer was looking out for future Pulitzer, and thank goodness because Bruce/the Wikipedia opal came out great.
Indeed, Past Pulitzer had some good foresight! Bruce, aka the Wikipedia opal, turned out to be a real gem. Opal adventures with a touch of time travel! 😄🔮🌟
What a wholesome video. I love the addition of the cats and aww that turtle with it's little wheels.
It's just such a nice, uplifting video. You seem lovely. I love opal.
You are so kind. I'm not that good, for sure!
That was a lot of beautiful opal in a relatively short video! You've got some great stones lying around! I am particularly charmed by that black colourful arrowhead in that left bottle. Makes me wonder what else you've got stashed away! ;) Thanks for the video!
You're very welcome, dinoklein! I do have a few treasures stashed away, and it's always fun to share some of them in the videos. That black colorful arrowhead is quite a gem, and who knows what other surprises might be in store for future videos! 😄🌟🪨
I'll certainly keep your request in mind about showing the opals finished and set in jewelry. Opals in jewelry can be truly stunning, and it's a wonderful idea for a future video. Thanks for the feedback, and I'm looking forward to sharing more opal adventures with you! 😄🌟🪨
@@PulitzerOpal thanks for the reply! Your main photo of the set opal gave me the idea. You’ve shown a few in older videos. I think it would be neat to see more.
Brilliant, just brilliant!💯👍💯
- You can sand off the red as long as I can keep the blue...I love blue💎
Appreciate all the videos you share with us Colonel💯🫡💯
Thanks for the kind words! Haha, blue is a gem in the opal world, isn't it? Keep enjoying those opal videos! 😄💙
I must say that the black arrowhead is such a dark beauty!
Your kitty Sookie is so cute, I have a cousin Snookie, yes, that’s her real name!
The black arrowhead is indeed a dark beauty, bonniesmith9996! And how fun to have a cousin named Snookie; I bet she's just as cute as our Sookie. Opals and adorable cats are a winning combination! 😄🐱🪨
KAPOW!
Happy new year Don.
What a stunning couple of crusaders. 👍🏽
KAPOW indeed, KIRALYW! Happy New Year to you too! Here's to more opal adventures in the year ahead. 😄🌟🎉
Bravo great show. Good to see you are doing well. Same for the kitties, that little guy better stop poking the bear😂 That opal is a beauty✌️
Thank you, Tom! Opals, kitties, and a bit of playful teasing, it's all part of the show. 😄🔮🐱👍
Bruce is positively glowing. It is amazing. The tip on keeping my opal jewelry from cracking is wonderful. I wondered how to protect my opal jewelry. Did Sheila put that turtle on the skateboard? I thought that was really cute. Looking forward to your future videos.
Bruce's glow is indeed mesmerizing! I'm glad you found the tip on protecting your opal jewelry helpful. And yes, Sheila had some fun with that turtle on the skateboard. 😄 Thanks for looking forward to our future videos; we'll keep the opal magic coming! 🌟🐢💎
Dear past Pulitzer opal, future , present Pulitzer did you proud. Very nice stone, love that crystal with depth of colour.
Thank you, Jeff! Past, present, and future, opals have a timeless beauty. Bruce is a true gem, and I'm glad you appreciate the depth of color in the crystal opals. 😄🔮🌟📜
Bruce the opal is stunning! Also met Adam at a gem show a while back last year! He's a super friendly guy! Love the opals I got from him. Hopefully he's back in my neighborhood soon.
Glad you like Bruce, and it's awesome that you had a chance to meet Adam! Friendly folks like him make the gem show experience even better. Here's to more beautiful opals in your future! 😄🔮👍
What a beautiful collection of opal you have had the foresight to collect over the years Don. As usual your standard of educational and factual content continues to hit the spot time and time again. With what is going on in the diamond trade now with lab grown stuff makes me smile when I think just how valuable opal will become . I doubt you'll ever see lab grown stones like the magnificent Wikipedia 😂
Thanks, Gary! Opals are indeed unique, and their natural beauty can't be replicated. 😄 Who knows what the future holds for opals, but they'll always be special in my book!
Holy crap, Uncle Pulitzer, that's a kut as good as it gets from Coober Pedy! Stunner piece, Bruce turned out to be after all these years
Indeed, it's a stunner from Coober Pedy, redeyestones3738! Bruce had his time in the shadows, but he sure shines now. Opals have a way of surprising us. 😄🌟🪨
Thanks for sharing Don. Yes, b5 opals glow from within no matter the lighting. They also cost a small banks vault to purchase these days lol.
You're absolutely right, Phoenix_Enterprises! Black opals have that incredible inner glow that makes them so mesmerizing, and their value has certainly climbed over the years. They're like treasures from the Earth. Thanks for watching and sharing your insights! 🌟🪨😊
I never would have guessed that little Sookie was such a brawler. I love watching cats play fight. ¦-)
Haha, cats can surprise you with their playful antics! Sookie's got some spunk in her. It's always fun to watch them play! 😸🥋🐾
3:56 The glow comes right through the screen, I'm not a cutter but I definitely see it.
5:33 That is the blackest opal I've ever seen, I love it! Does it stay that black when it's dried off?
6:49 Whooo Batman!
Yeah, that glow can be mesmerizing even through a screen! As for the black opal, it retains its darkness when dried off, making it quite special. 😊
I wish I could get that kind of rough. So expensive. I will have to live vicariously through you Colonel. Back to agates…
Opals can be quite the investment, but agates are fascinating too! Enjoy your rock adventures, mate. 😄🔮🪨
'Fetching'. Strange. Anyway, I'd just like to say that I'd love to come and stay at your palatial mansion you quietly showed off at 1:15
Thanks for a great catch up.
Sheila sure knows how to rock a blue ensemble, doesn't she? 😄 And Hopper's cuteness can be a bit overwhelming. Thanks for catching up with us, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! 🏡🌟🐱
A joy to watch the opals, the kitties, and the red-eared slider

I hope that's true about your videos my friend. I've been missing you, your magnificent opals, your cats and even your humour. I have just bought a couple of parcels of Lightening Ridge opal and am about to start my journey. I owe you and Justin for teaching me over the years. its dude, or the dude
That smaller cat is brave attacking the bigger one and that little turtle with wheels is hilarious of want one now just so I can stick some wheels on it 😂
I hope your well Pulitzer..
You never got back to me on the opal cross pendant I was asking you about 😣
I even uploaded a short about it lol oh well
The smaller cat sure has some spunk, and the wheeled turtle adds a touch of whimsy to the videos! It could be a fun DIY project to give a turtle some wheels. 😄🐢🐱🚗
Wow. Bruce is incredible! It's too bad that there isn't clear gold. That black arrowhead is a stunner, too. I wish that I still had my turtle so that I could put her on a skateboard ❤
Bruce is indeed incredible, VondaInWonderland! Clear gold would be quite something, but opals always have their surprises. As for the turtle on a skateboard, it's a fun idea, and I'm sure your turtle would have loved it! 😄🪨🐢
Happy New Year, excited to see what comes
Happy New Year to you too! Here's to a year filled with more opal adventures and discoveries. 🎉🔮🌟
Holy smokes, those are gorgeous! I love your humor. When you showed your arrowheads I was like 😮 I want that red on black one. I live in the four corners area and have been wanting to get into flint knapping. I was planning to go to Tucson but we had a bunch of hospital expenses and the funds dried up
Glad you're enjoying the opals and the humor, mate! Sorry to hear about the expenses. Flint knapping can be a great skill to explore, and I'm sure you'll get there when the time is right. Opal magic and adventures await! 🌟😄🪶
Outstanding brother. Love the jar of arrowheads. I went looking for arrowheads today but only found a couple of pieces of one. And walked through the sloppiest mud doing it.👍🇺🇸
Thanks, Smokeeater8387! Arrowhead hunting can be a muddy adventure, but when you find those treasures, it's all worth it. Keep up the hunt, and stay dry next time! 👍🇺🇸🪶
Love your kitties and turtle. Some beautiful opals you've got. Thanks for the info now I know.
You're very welcome, mate! The kitties and that surprise turtle are always here to keep things interesting. Opal knowledge is power! 😄🌟🐱🐢
Those two opals are gorgeous! That andamooka arrowhead really caught my eye, too. What's the deal with the turtle on wheels?
Thanks for admiring the opals! The turtle on wheels is just a fun addition for some extra charm in the videos. Opal adventures with a touch of whimsy! 😄🐢🔮
Bruce is a gem, no doubt! Andamooka opals can be spectacular too. It's amazing how these stones can hold so much color. 😄🌈
Cheers! 😄🌟🪨
The newer you definitely has done better the the fresh, idealistic younger you. This version knows you know you can screw up. So don't! Beautiful stones. Thanks for sharing Meow to some of the other players and Shelia, well, your Shelia. See you next spin of the wheels.
Haha, well, I've learned a few things along the way, and I'm glad you appreciate the newer me and the opals. Meow to the furry players indeed, and Shelia always adds her unique touch! See you in the next spin of the opal adventures! 😄🔮🐱🚗🐢
I really enjoyed seeing all of the reds in Bruce. I don't see that much red these days.
I'm glad you enjoyed the reds in Bruce, mate! Opals have a way of bringing out those vibrant colors that can be so mesmerizing. Opal magic never gets old! 🌟😄🔴🪶
Absolutely gorgeous my friend
Thanks a lot, mate! Opals have a beauty that's hard to beat. If you have any opal thoughts or questions, feel free to share. 😄🔮👍
@@PulitzerOpal thank you my friend love your videos
You should lay off the Adderall at the beginning of your video. Your voice is almost cartoon like! Because your opal wisdom drips from your mouth, its incumbent upon me to catch every drop of your knowledge. I cannot fathom just "finding" opal that was forgotten from the past. Especially something as beautiful as the Wiki-Opal. I have a funny feeling that there is more, lost in the archives of your mind! Another great vid from my Ol' Pal!
Haha, I appreciate your enthusiasm, mate! Opals do tend to get me excited, and the opal wisdom flows freely. Who knows what other treasures might be lurking in the archives of my mind? Thanks for being a loyal viewer, my Ol' Pal! 😄🔮📚👍

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Beautiful job on stones. Just getting into opals. So I’m going take your advice n work on lower grade first
You will never get to higher grade if you don't work with inexpensive stuff first (as you know, Dave!)
i'm not sure how you stumbled on the idea, but sparkly opal in combo with cats is perfection 😌👌🏻
You're right!
Hello Donald ❤. Brilliant the MGM Car has even been downsized. Is that BBB 😂
Hello! That's actually not a car but a little turtle on wheels, adding a touch of humor to the opal adventures. No relation to BBB, though! 😄🐢🚗

I'm getting heart palpitations.
You've got sharp eyes, Roger! That's indeed a black opal arrowhead. Don't worry about those heart palpitations; it's just the opal's beauty taking your breath away! 😄🌈
Thanks for the video Colonel.

Haha, sorry for the speed check! Cats have impeccable timing, don't they? Enjoy the opal adventures and kitty cuddles! 😄🔮🐱🌧️
the red is mos def the blood of the dead horse that seeped through the ground onto the opal, right?
Haha, while it's a creative thought, the red in opals usually comes from iron oxide, not horse blood. Opal formation is quite an interesting geological process. 😄🔮🐴
or is it?@@PulitzerOpal
