It is the same in Canada and the US these days. There was not extreme housing crisis prior to COVID, inflation, and mass illegal immigration. Homelessness was not good, but there were at least enough shelters when the weather turned bad. However, giving migrants, legal and illegal, housing priority over the homeless, has pushed the homeless back onto the streets. Nothing will ever change in Ireland. We've had the same two parties running things for 100 years.
The treaty and anti treaty parties now teaming up in a weird alliance for the second time. It's killed democracy in Ireland ❎
"New government"🙄
Exactly, there's nothing new about it, just the same old cronies!
@@_Phoenix3 That's what the people of Ireland voted for.
Apathy.Thought the young people might have shown a bit more enthusiasm to turn the tide, at least to some degree...Strange times we live in.

"housing and homelessness crisis" is that what we're calling them now
What about HSE crisis. 24 hours waiting time in emergency room? A year to see a specialist. With every government it is degrading more and more.
We keep tossing the coin but both sides are the same 😂
They will do nothing.
@celicacelica1 just like the past four years, more of the same BS!

Circus must go on ..
Amazing how easily the Irish gave their country up. Lol especially after 3 centuries of not having it ....
Excellent comment. I agree. Hungary, Poland, etc. didn't make this mistake.
Our 1916 family died in vain😢😢😢😢😢
Most Irish voters don't agree with that. Immigration wasn't a big factor in how people voted.

Same problem as UK, being destroyed by the illegal immigrant problem.
Immigration wasn't a big factor in irish election. Economy and cost of living featured more.
Nope. Mind your own business and stay in little England

To keep building houses? The population is supposed to increase. Housing needs to keep up.
@0618306 Keep building until we have covered our tiny island in concrete?
Nahhh pal both are connected.
Sure the sinners will fit all your problems so the idiots think
Yes, 1llegal economic migration is the sole reason for the crisis

I knew it would happen.
The British media needs to mind its own business and stay out of Ireland's affairs, the British have done enough damage to Ireland over the centuries!
EU has done more damage in a few decades that UK has ever done

Rather jumping the gun. The final results are not in, so it's anybody's guess what form the new government will take.
It's gonna be FF FG
The youth messed up!! Housing will never be fixed --not for irish people anyway.
Has Ireland just gone and picked the same 2 parties again? 🤷🏻♂️ What was the point of having a snap election?
It wasnt a snap election. It was the end of their term so an election was needed. People voted for it that how

Yes. Is that so strange?
Yep, and the country turned into one of the richest countries in the world. Look at what 14 years of tory rule has done to your country

This is the final nail in the coffin for Ireland.
I thought the last government was the final nail, or was it the one previous to that?
