I think he likes getting a reaction from him. The first time one of my cats jumped out and tried to scare me I pretended to be startled. Now one of them does it all the time and she’s gotten really good at it and be legit scares the crap out of me

We had a doberman that did this all the time, if you peeked around the corner and she saw you she'd totally go into sneak mode just like the dog in the video! Such good memories of our beloved dog.

That and the little side eyed glance they do, is one of my favorite things about my doberman. It’s often accompanied by an expression of bewilderment or anticipation.

Your assumption of that pup being raised by cats probably isnt to far off. I had a black lab, magnum, for 14 years and for the first five we had a cat and magnum would just stare at our cat while he groomed himself and magnum picked up some behavior like licking his wrists and washing his face.

It has to be the Doberman in there. I have a 1 year old Doberman great Dane mix and he acts very similar but mine is very vocal and he sounds growly but there is 0% aggression behind it

No it’s most likely bc ur lazy behind won’t go outside and chase them around or play fetch. The dog needs to be able to run, this is just a nervous tick to get some kind of nervous energy out.
Take them to a dog park or hiking somewhere an I bet they will only start doing the “stalking” act when they are trying to get you to take them back to the DAMN PARK TO STRETCH THEIR LEGS
