You summed up this anime perfectly, great video! I'm not a big sports anime person, as many seem to focus on angst and drama, but Mou Ippon was pure heart and devotion to each other and the sport they love. For me it's up there with Bamboo Blade and Tamayomi. Even though the later suffered from rough animation, they're still among my favorites.

Praying for a All rounder meguru Anime. The perfect MMA manga. Very relatable as well.

You're right about sports anime not changing much but Blue Lock is actually a change, it's football anime with blattle shounen characteristics, the better answer would be Ao Ashi which is basically just Sport anime but one of the top 2 if not 1 in the football anime department, only competing with Giant Killing. (I've watched 13-15 different football anime)

I like ao ashi a little better because its less shounen and more realistic. I think inazuma eleven is a shout for top football anime (tho mainly fueled by sheer nostalgia).

Thanks for the rec, I recently became interested in judo after watching an ep from Miss Nagatoro. Have you heard of Tepu? The author is Moare Ohta.
Also, completely disagree with your take on BlueLock. Regardless of whether or not you understand actual soccer and its various components, the reason BlueLock is good is because it delves into the psychological components of sport and of life. Components I personally have experience with and identify with. For example, choosing to make yourself smaller, i.e., a wall flower, to make someone else feel better or to avoid 'rocking the boat.' Ignoring your Ego, even though it screams out to you, begs you to free it.
All of the topics, or evolutions, described throughout the series are realistic and true as well. I've had experience with all of them. This manga and anime may be an affront to what you consider to be soccer, but the individual battles the characters face are very real and choosing to focus on that with this manga truly is a blessing and I super appreciate it. I really aspire to live my life like that. Becoming my best possible self and going on a journey with those who want the same. That's an awesome and uplifting story. Becoming your own light, by embracing what is traditionally slandered as darkness. Refusing to denigrate yourself and pushing on, even if it means you're alone. It's message is so real and true.
For someone who has struggled with a bunch of themes presented in the show, I think this anime is a breath of fresh air.

The thing with blue lock is that,, I understand it's appeal. I don't really think everyone who watched X anime is a "insert characteristic". It's just that the thing with me and football is that I love the game so much. I love the tactics that go into it. It's just that seeing something like blue lock doesn't really fit with me. Like the joke about the "false 9" is that the EGO guy (idk his name) probably plays that role. He is not big, help to develop the ball forward but at the end of the day is a strikier. Idk It's cool u like Blue Lock tho.. also I read like 5 chps of teppuu I think and dropped it. not because I didn't like it just because I forgot to keep reading.

@@ZoinkiesCh Oh Okay, I understand. I personally don't really understand soccer much myself. I played up to high school, but aside from watching the USWNT play games, I don't have the depth or passionate for it as you. I don't really understand all the strategy or positioning and how it all relates. I can understand that passion though. Respect.
I haven't read teppuu myself, I just saw a video on it awhile ago and I thought I'd mention it. I did start Mou Ippon last night though and liked it.
