Chicken nuggets are processed and formed into a “nugget” shape, popcorn chicken is actual pieces of chicken battered and fried. Basically nuggets are ground meat, popcorn chicken are small pieces of whole meat 🤷♂️

I really hope this is wrong.... lol I worked there back in the 80's and it wasn't the hour it was the big hand of the clock. So if it was made at X:50 you would mark 10. Then depending on the food they would each have there own time they were okay to be under the lights. So if the food was suppose to be under the light only 15 minutes you would know to pull it at X:05 or 1.
My first job was working in the kitchen at BK in 96. I came to the comments, JUST to see the response. 100% is for the hour it was cooked. But it was only for food that sat in a warmer or something, we rarely utilized them as we were a busy store and consistently made fresh food.
As a former BK employee, I can tell you that the numbers 1 through 12 on the back of the nuggets (and several other items) correspond to a clock. When the nuggets are cooked and bagged, you mark the nearest five-minute interval on the bag, and after a certain amount of time, they're supposed to be chucked. For nugs, that's 20 minutes iirc.

One of my friends growing up that i played video games with his dad was a professor at the college for some type of biology/medical class. If anyone is interested, KFC currently flips on the names of their products depending on location. Their popcorn chicken is called nuggets in some areas. Their chicken strips are called tenders in some areas. But KFC used to have Chicken Nuggets, Popcorn Chicken, and Chicken Strips. They had nuggets first, then strips, then popcorn chicken, then they got rid of the nuggets. Their nuggets used to to be a breaded chicken nugget rather than batter dipped like the popcorn chicken and strips. They were more processed chicken similar to other fast food places. Then they added strips to the menu, which became really popular. Then they added popcorn chicken which were just smaller versions of the strips. Then I assume the chicken nuggets just fell out of popularity so they got rid of them.

I have held a eyeball before. As well as a brain and pretty much every other human organ. One of my friends growing up that i played video games with his dad was a professor at the college for some type of biology/medical class. It was actually pretty badass and he taught us a lot and made it fun to learn how everything worked together.

If anyone is interested, KFC currently flips on the names of their products depending on location.
Their popcorn chicken is called nuggets in some areas. Their chicken strips are called tenders in some areas.
But KFC used to have Chicken Nuggets, Popcorn Chicken, and Chicken Strips. They had nuggets first, then strips, then popcorn chicken, then they got rid of the nuggets.
Their nuggets used to to be a breaded chicken nugget rather than batter dipped like the popcorn chicken and strips. They were more processed chicken similar to other fast food places. Then they added strips to the menu, which became really popular. Then they added popcorn chicken which were just smaller versions of the strips. Then I assume the chicken nuggets just fell out of popularity so they got rid of them.
