- The infamous Volo Theme from Pokémon Legends Arceus. Probably one of the hardest Boss fights in the series so far (here's looking at you Pokémon Scarlett and Violet). This one took a bunch of practice to play on this digital keyboard.

=====(The Details/Performer's Notes)=====
This arrangement is quite tricky because even though it is slightly slower than Cynthia's Theme, it contains her theme in it's entirety plus some extra new sections, exclusive to Volo's Theme, that are fairly difficult (the most difficult section is at 0:37 due to the voicing and leaps in the right hand combined with those left hand arpeggios). Individually each section isn't so bad, but put together and it becomes a bit of a nightmare to get a clean take. I'd say overall it is more difficult than Cynthia's Approach/Pre-battle music: • Pokemon Diamond/Pearl:...
On a personal note, this is my first video in over 5 months. I was burnt out and took a much needed break from YT/the content grind this summer, completely updated my setup (still need to get a new camera though) and spent some time focusing on other aspects of life. I'm still trying to navigate/find a life/work balance that works for me, but am getting back into the swing of things here on YT. The break also allowed me to practice and really settle into the passagework/music for this arrangement, on a level that I almost never get to with YT uploads. Usually I upload very technical arrangements like this, barely in my fingers but this time everything got to 'marinate' for a while. The result is a much more accurate/settled performance imho.
Thank you for your patience and understanding/sticking with the channel during that 5+ month gap in content. The YT grind and algorithm can be hard, especially in a niche genre like piano covers. Every comment (I pretty much read all of them), view, like, etc is truly appreciated. Thank you. In the near future, my friend and colleague Ryan Z 'Piano Guy' and I have a Halloween VERSUS coming up next on a classic video game tune. Wish us both luck.
Side note: One downside for the new setup is the room has deeper (more plush/high) carpets which cause the keyboard to vibrate/rock/move during intense playing. I'm looking for a solution but decided to upload this video anyway to see how distracting it is. It wasn't nearly as bad as what I thought it was going to look like tbh. Seeing Volo open with Spiritomb while Cynthia theme plays in the background is a feeling I cannot describe with words.

Volo IMO is the most underated and dangerous living thing in the Pokemon series. He's not even a trainer. That's not the reason. Unlike other antogonists, he doesn't have a team of minions who flock his name around or a special device to "control" pokemon. He's just this guy, some merchant, that the God of Pokemon considered Volo a universal threat... Nobody could stop him either. Think about the time-period: Just having a Pokemon walk with you was looked down upon and unheard of. If you had a Pikachu, the locals would question your mental health and ask "You're friends with that thing?!" They are literally considered MONSTERS (Pocket Monsters). You appeared so could introduce/open everyone to the idea of coexisting with them. Volo was ALREADY secretely doing that. By the time you showed up, he was making Giratina open space-time rifts (yes Girattina, that one Pokemon who controls the opposite dimension). If you didn't get in his way, he'd likely have Palkia and Dialga too.

I'd like to think Cynthia is so strong because she has HIS genetics. He's basically would Cynthia would have been if she was evil and born in that time period.
I'm not finished with the game yet but I've got to the point where I need to catch all Pokémon to meet Arceus. Until your comment, I hadn't realized that's the reason Arceus sent you down. Maybe I missed something crucial in between.
Though I think Volo's true intentions showing up towards the end of the game really hurt his potential as a true threat which would have been SO iconic.
I love the more sinister sound this has in the beginning compared to Cynthias theme. Great rendition!

I played PLA before the Sinnoh games so I got ptsd from Volo when I battled Cynthia. It’s the opposite of what some people felt

God this was beautiful. I can hear all of the emotions Volo vented in Hisui from the way you play. His internal struggle, his mental strife, his last stand - it’s all so vivid in this song.
I feel myself battling against a nihilistic alter ego deep inside me. Somehow, this tune helps me articulate the feelings I’m going through and feels like therapy for my soul. Thank you for creating this beautiful piece of art 🙏🏾

i love how greatly you improved this arrangement. to be brutally honest ur last vid for this arrangement was prob my least fav. u had sorta hard time executing it last time and i wasnt much better when i played it lol. but MAN WHAT A COMEBACK!! i ADORED the octave transition and codetta. i have so many things i want to say about the outstanding and creativity of the structure of this arrangement that i just cant put into sufficient words. i wish u could teach me how u arrange these masterpieces. The series of rising notes at 0:05 and 2:34 give me flashbacks to the theme of Deviljho from Monster Hunter. That's just the type of menacing presence that I'd expect of Cynthia's ancestor. I don't know if this was planned in the composition, but it works so well

I dont have very many memories of diamond/pearl, just of my brothers playing it, I have played the remake though and spent multiple hours on cynthia, I heard this theme and I wasnt worried about the fight until this, especially when the strings picked up i just sat there next to the tv having a mental breakdown as i was processing what i was about to go through while jamming to the music at the same time
I can feel the tension and stress man, that battle really gave me trouble. Especially since I didn’t overlevel or want to spam items
Same. I think I ended up using some tho. Some of the boss battles in this game were surprisingly hard for a Pokemon game. A refreshing change imho.
