Agree. It happened to my brother. A girl he dated didnt really care for cats ( or animals) and was jealous of his love for his cats. And the squirrels and birds he feeds and has houses for on his patio. He dumped her.

In addition to the wonderful people who adopted , it’s a great testimony to the vet who refused to euthanize and actually went to the trouble to find a rescue. I don’t know of any who would do this!❤
Usually Vets don’t put healthy dogs down. They are a source of steady income. Blindness is no reason to kill a soul.
May God bless this bet that took his time to find his dog a home instead of putting him down that saves a lot about the character of the vet. As far as the man that wanted to put him down I find it very difficult to understand. That doesn't speak much of the character of that man. May God bless the person who took the dog in. There's still good people in this world.❤
Here in Canada the vet has the last word about putting dogs pr cats down and being blind is not a good reason. My dog is going blind now with cataracts and him and I will adjust to his disability. He has his ears and nose to take over his surroundings. Be kind to animals

I saw a video earlier where this guy had to win over his girlfriend’s bird. He did so by whistling and eventually did win the bird over.

My dog wasn't blind until he was about 10. He's still happy and can move around just fine, he can even go up and down stairs.
If your girlfriend/boyfriend told you she/he doesn't like your dog don't ever hesitate to leave them. They are worthless.

Absolutely! I have a special needs dog with epilepsy. She's on medication for life. However, Vet says it will not impede her from having a normal and long life. And I think she knows that i wouldn't give up on her. ( They all know!) She's a puppy still, But I know she will become the most beautiful dog inside and out. Like the lady on this video said. They are just so full of life! Thank God the Vet did not agree to the Euthanasia!
I love that she's so patient with them and takes the time to lovingly guide Aster over under and through the woods so she doesn't miss out on their adventures!

Our dog is completely deaf too (not blind). He is such a loving, happy, and sweet dog! I am so glad he is part of our family! Animals that are deaf and/or blind are wonderful animals that just simply need a little more care and understanding.

Their sense of smell is thousands times more than ours.
When you lose 1 or 2 senses, your other senses become much greater.
If your girlfriend/boyfriend doesn't like your dog/cat, break up with them.
If she/he is forcing you abandon your dog/cat, they ain't gonna stop there.

I can’t understand how anyone could abandon these loving cats. At least the dogs were taken to rescue centres, although I don’t why anyone would give them up just because of their physical impairments. Thank you for taking them in and giving them the life they deserve.

People who want to put down an animal should never be allowed any animal. You do not put a child down when they are blind/deaf and definitely more work/need more attention! Animals ability to adapt is amazing when given the chance and deserved love! Thank you for seeing this and loving them

Thank you for knowing that Little Buddy was "yours" and taking the time and giving the love to him that he deserves. // I found mostly-blind, mostly-deaf Lad last year and drove 5 hours each way to get him. The rescue agency said he was around 10 years old. With Lad, I like to say that I'm his "seeing eye person" and that he is still training me. We are trying out more touch signals now. More and more we take on new adventures together and are becoming closer partners every day. Recently, I learned that he loves riding in trucks (much more than in cars) with the windows down, his chin on the sill. The rewards are endless with him.

Am grateful that there are people who believe that if one is blind or deaF we dont euthanize the animal. am very glad a family stepped up to give a forever home to the pups. I cant help but won- der whst this persons plan woyld be for a child or relative who was deaf and blind. AND THIS DOES HAPPEN.

My sister and her brother in law drove 3 hours (one way) to adopt a senior blind dog about a year ago. She is the sweetest dog ever, and they treat her like a princess. ❤️

I had the privilege of caring for a blind Dane for all of his life. Both deaf and blind dogs can live wonderful full lives and it just takes a few adjustments to do so. Bravo for taking them in and giving them a loving home!
I chose dogs over human friends. No backstabbing, no rip offs, no betrayal, no extortion , eternal unconditional love between 2 souls. I hate drama, deceit, lies, cheats.

Thank you for adopting every body. I'm so glad the veterinary and said no when the people wanted when people want to put the puppy down.. I believe the cats took the first dog under their wing because they saw a need they felt the puppy needed them so they also adopted him and thank you for showing the world just because they have a disability they're just as wonderful loving as any other animal. And I believe to the animals it's not a disability just a different way to get through this journey.thankyou.

Wonderful young lady she deserves a medal. People are too quick to dump a disabled animal, we had a cairn terrier that became blind from the age of one, but she had a wonderful life with us until she died aged sixteen.

Not always. My cat was deaf, greatest thing in the world. Rode the shop vac and loved to be vacuumed. Dogs barking put the dogs on their place as she did not run like other cats would, sat right there with them. Of course she is as not allowed outside. Only thing did was when any tools being used put her in a room because she liked to help with everything, rode the broom handle!
This lady is so perfect. She knew so well, how to give quality life to these 2 special dogs.

@ RMK - Clearly anyone who would want to kill a dog because it can't see and hear is a monster in the truest sense of the word and that person does not deserve the very air that they breathe! Of course, I feel that the guy who gave up his dog for his bimbo girlfriend is a bobbleheaded, p*ssy-whipprd loser, but at least he gave the dog to a rescue so that he could at least have a chance of finding a home. It's still wrong, but not as heinous as what Aster's previous owners did.

This brought tears to my eyes. My rescue kitty is blind in one eye and I love her to death. If anybody ever even suggested I get rid of her, they will be history. Period!

My sister had a cat who had one eye due to an infection when rescued. That cat could leap a distance with perfect balance.
I'm blind in one eye (artificial) due to eye infection from being premature at birth. Medical mistakes made from not putting silver nitrate in my eyes to prevent infection, then doc tried to inject antibiotic into my eye and my lens popped out onto the floor. I can see in one eye still. Am a miracle 3 times at 68. Praise God!

They probably thought the puppy would have poor quality of life and that they were "putting it out of it's misery". This is the kind of flawed thinking that causes some people to undervalue the lives of people with disabilities, even before birth. I'm glad that the vet realized killing her wasn't the answer. She may not have the same advantages as other dogs, but her life is just as important.

Good for you for taking this disabled pet. I had a wonderful, loving blind lab. She went blind at 4 years old but lived to 15. She loved to swim, run and everything most dogs love. You just have to give them a chance.

Blind dogs see with their hearts! Their noses are so powerful they can tell so many things just by smell. Some recent research is just amazing. My pup is almost completely blind. He is amazing
