    When you asked what they could do to help their neighborhood, there was no answer. They've been raised to believe someone else, the government, will do it for them. We need to teach these kids to pick up trash, mow lawns, take some personal responsibility in their communities

    When I was a young girl I use to hang out in the hood a lot because those are the type of guys my friends like. I was a church girl my dad was a pastor so I always felt uncomfortable and out of place. Getting to actually know them they are actually sweet. Almost all of them have trauma or something in their life that is like omg. They’re still human with feelings and hearts. These comments break my heart. A lot of these Mississippi boys are lost with no guidance and alot of them want that guidance but keep getting sucked back into that life style. I’ve personally tried to drag some of them out. Some changed their lives some didn’t

    • @tammybunting4034

      You can choose to get out . Free will .

    • @melaniexoxo
      @melaniexoxo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Well someone could choose to get out but the obstacles are probably tenfold for someone that starts out in a "ghetto". Couple that with not having the same advantages that someone with greater means or born in a more affluent place does.
      Look at high school graduation rates and then college transfer rates. More affluent areas generally have a much much higher rate of graduation and transfer to university.
      I'm not saying its not possible to choose, but its exponentially more difficult for someone with limited economic & social means that also starts out with a disadvantage such as this. Its just that the poor are easy targets because they cant really fight back, so guess who people pick on when things get bad.

    • @601TRAVELS

Looking good in clothes and fancy shoes is not going to get you far if you don't have a job. Learn a vocational tech skill and go to work. CharlieBo313, as someone who grew up in the Upper Midwest of northern Wisconsin and eventually moved to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, you would never see this kind of squalor in a town of similar size as Clarksdale. Nor the amount of crime as well. It's quite sad and kind of heartbreaking to watch. I appreciate you making these videos. You do a tremendous job, sir. Thank you.

    I don't see the real motive behind this video. It's obvious the guy behind this video isn't from Clarksdale. How can you expect an political answer from someone who does know anything about politics or even have been taught anything about politics. What you should've done was enlighten them on the importance of standing in school & getting an education. And how to be self-sufficient and not rely on anyone but self. Next time you're in Clarksdale stop by the Round yard, Sasse, or the Oakhurst area. I got some kids for you to talk with & you would be amazed.

I left here and 2008. In a way, I do miss Clarksdale, but there is nothing to do there anymore. All of the good jobs had folded up. Ive even had run uns with the laws back then who I still highly respected because they wasnt asshole, well at least not all of them, but enough was on the force back then to out weight the bad. It was truly a Utopia back then. That shit started going down hill in 2003 and got worse by the year. Unbelievable. Its unbelievable how a fine city had turned into a circle of hell.

    Damn near 47 years is not temporary. At any rate, when I was that age, my dads yard was on a corner lot and the best looking one in the neighborhood.
    We were competitive and I earned a salary cutting grass for $3 per yard, using dads lawn mower. That was 4.5gr of gold. Those children have too much time on their hands. They should be cleaning up their neighborhood, for crying out loud. All that is coming back and do not forget the Kool Aid Stands.

You really think people wanna live poor and hopeless, are there decent paying jobs in their areas? What are the conditions of the schools? You people sit back and judge people who are less fortunate than you, if you were born into these conditions how do you really think your life would be. To live in such conditions is not easy to look at your rundown environment day in and day out will kill any hopes and dreams you have for yourself. Only the strong can survive these conditions...

    Henry Barry a member of the Virginia House of Delegates, who said on January 20, 1832, 175 years ago. When asked about black people and how to control them. He replied.
    "Pass as severe laws as you will to keep these unfortunate creatures in ignorance. It is in vain unless you can extinguish that spark of intellect which God has given them. Sir, we have as far as possible closed every avenue by which light may enter their minds. We only have to go one step further to extinguish their capacity to see the light and our work will be completed. And they would then be reduced to the level of the beasts of the field and we should be safe. Sir, a death struggle must come between the two classes or races in which one or the other will be extinguished forever.”

    Bad luck is one thing. Being a lazy stupid parasite who refuses to make something, anything of themselves is another. If you in a factory and work hard and play by the rules. Good for you. You dont have to make millions to be something just a good person in the end. This is hopelessness all around.

Leave all of your criminal friends behind, disappear to a new place. Speak with respect, and try your best. Show up on time....
