Right, just got back from Europe and the food is so different and makes me feel so much better. I lost weight and ate more food and better food than when in the US. When I got back I tried to shop for the same healthy food but I couldn't find it. The breads all had garbage additives, the meats are all hormoned up and full of drugs. As for drinks, I drink only filtered water and coffee.

When my wife was struggling with cancer we did our research and looked for things we needed to avoid, we ended up with a comprehensive list of things that were linked to cancer as well as things that lead to a health state that makes our body into a perfect environment for cancer to grow. Long story short is that the biggest offenders had complex sounding chemical names. It quickly became evident as soon we we started reading labels on everything we buy that more than 95% of food at the grocery store are not just poisonous and can lead to cancer but a whole bunch of autoimmune conditions. I remember thinking I could go to the health food stores and be safer, and I was SO WRONG! The health food stores are just as bad. The only way to stay safe is to make all you food from scratch but even then you have to be careful to read the labels of your ingredients. I was so put off after reading the labels at the health food store I walked out without buying anything. After getting my mind wrapped around the idea I started shopping for ingredients for my food, it has drastically limited what I eat, I mostly eat meat from the butcher section and some non starchy veggies. Most vegetables in the US are either covered in pesticides or engineered to be inedible to insects (which really makes them inedible to us duh). And grains and anything harvested like them are sprayed with roundup to stress the plants and double their seed yield, roundup is very bad for consumption. In the end we still lost my wife to cancer, it was too late to reverse what damage was done to her, so my advice is, don't wait until you are sick to watch what you eat because that often times is already too late.

My cancer is the manageable kind so I'll be fine but I go to the infusion clinic and see some very sad people. It's definitely not a cheery place to be. Mostly old people but sometimes I see someone younger and that really is sad. I don't know what any of the other patients have, none of my business, so I don't really know who's just starting or what. And I seldom see the same faces twice because the appointments are all over the place. I don't like it that the staff recognizes me though. Nobody want's to be a regular at the cancer clinic. It's mostly from a lifestyle change and controlling your diet rather than it being from the tiny amounts of artificial preservatives. Most people that things like "I'm eating healthier" and "counting calories", attributing that to weight loss or better health, are really just saying, "I'm being conscious of my decisions." It's good that you're healthier, and I'm glad for you, but don't spread misinformation about preservatives being some kind of nasty toxin. It doesn't do much harm at all unless you're eating only preservatives lol.

Changed my diet to eat mostly organic clean foods, clean, air, water, personal products etc. Now that I know I will Never go back. Various toxins may affect people differently-causing different health problems for people but the underlying problem is still the same-toxicity. Everyone gets better when they avoid the toxic garbage.

As a preventive medicine specialist and certified health education specialist, pretty much anything in a package is full of preservatives. These are unhealthy, from acute to chronic diseases that are preventable. I was fortunate that my parents taught me this when I was about 16 years old. So we changed everything in our home. When I went to college, while on my own, I started eating fast food, thinks that I would never get back at home-until I have my first health science class and realized how dangerous foods and additives are. So I went back and found much of my favorite things even like Nutella, its mostly sugar. The healthiest is learning how to prepare foods that are grown organically. You know when you put your mobile phone to your ear? Best not to do that. Use the speaker phone. Keep it away from your head to reduce brain tumor risks which have been increasing due to elevated exposure to electromagnetic fields. Thank you for sharing! Keep healthy and enjoy life :)

Every grocery store in my city offers at least one brand of honey which is harvested in this state. The local honeys do not have any additives in them. They're pure honey. The only thing done to them is they are warmed to the point where the viscosity is low enough for it to flow like a liquid. It is then strained to remove any solids like wax/comb and then packaged.

My large intestine was apparently blocked by all these gums. I had eaten vegan ice cream apparently with three types of gum (guar, locust bean/johannes bread pit flower and another). And I want to point out that these gums are now suddenly in Starbucks, Magnum, sports drinks, all ice cream, all snacks really. Stick to a specific grocery list with only fresh foods unless you want to feel bad every day. I got colitis from all those gums, a week long constipation, weight gain, and constipation also ruins your hair, skin, mental health. Gums are also very hard to dissolve I noticed. The body cant digest it. I took laxative and that didnt even work. I just decided to never buy snacks again with gum in it. And I already feel so much better.

In Europe they dont keep eggs in supermarkets in fridges. So why is that way you might think !?. Eggs have a protective layer when they come out of a chicken. In the US they wash eggs before they go to the supermarket and wash of this protective layer which makes eggs go bad much sooner. In Europe they dont wash eggs because there is no need to so eggs in Europe dont go bad as quick as eggs in the US. So basically US supermarkets are screwing people over with eggs. Same as with lots of extra additives and ingrediënts they put in American processed foods. In Europe the same products as in the US have much less ingredients in them. Also a lot of ingredients that are in American processsed foods drinks and chips are forbidden in the rest of the world. No wonder there is an obesity problem in the US. If you go to France and The Netherlands for example you rarely see obese people.

They just find suppliers.) the ingredients are most often there for texture, colour retention, shelf-life. Without those, the product would go stale very soon and NO ONE would buy them. So unless you are willing to purchase your own ingredients and MAKE your various foods, you are most often stuck with what you find on the shelves. I bake MOST of bakery items that I want. Bread, rolls, cookies, cakes, pies. MAKE your own yogurt, MAKE your own pasta, MAKE your own meals of any sort. MAKE your own chips and dips.

Because of a very specific evil plan, our gv. is now giving the Amish great legal grief to stop them for their very pure food processes particularly about meat. Americans are chronically unhealthy because we tend to over eat, sit around all day and are habitually lazy about cooking so buy pre-made stuff so lack good nutrition.
Most of the "scary" stuff that she claims is hazardous is not, all of it we get naturally in grown foods too. Like MSG is in tomatoes, mushrooms, seaweed (where it was actually discovered) and tons of other places.
And chemical names are always scary to the ill-informed. Like if I told you that you are drinking the dangerous chemical Dihydrogen Monoxide every day you'd likely freak out.... The knowledge dump you just experienced is overwhelming! I have been on the journey you’re now embarking on for 25 years, and thankfully, it was easier to transition from things I was consuming or using in bodycare and household products because it was a gradual process. Sometimes, when this kind of discovery happens too quickly, people become either petrified or cynical and decide to shut down and not even try. They make a joke out of saying “everything will kill you, so don’t even bother.” This is not true though. There’s a lot of things that we CAN control. And a lot of little things add up to make a big difference!
Even in the world of “natural” products, there’s a lot of bull that circulates because of marketing. Everyone wants to make a buck, and generally preys on either people’s fears, or mankind’s desire for a life of ease (pre-packaged products). The cheapest and easiest way to avoid dangerous ingredients is to make it yourself. So yeah, the trade-off for good health is you have to invest your time in research and food preparation. Food is a very social activity, and it’s easier if a person’s family is on board. Then meal prep can also become a time to connect with each other.
My family has been on a very limited income for many years because my husband suffered a 70 foot fall, (That’s a long story in itself!), but living as “clean” as possible is very important to my family, especially with my youngest having autism - which makes their body struggle with natural detoxification that most of us take for granted.
In order to save money on high quality products, it really pays to comparative shop. AND if you can get into the habit of bulk shopping whenever you see a good deal on something you actually use, over time this will bring your grocery bill down. Another good tip is when in the grocery store, stick to the outer walls (or refrigerated sections). These will generally be fresh, REAL food (veggies, fruits, meats, dairy). Once you find packaged brands that don’t have a lot of chemicals, (often organic products tend to be better in this area) shopping gets quicker and easier too.
The products you put on your body DOES absorb through your skin, so finding more natural body care is important also, as you have discovered.
If anything, I just want to encourage you that although it might feel overwhelming now, it will get easier! 😊 And with some smart shopping strategies, you won’t spend too much more than the average (often in poor health😢) grocery shopper. I’d rather spend a little more and feel well, than eat junk and feel like crap all the time. I have a quote by Mikhaila Peterson (Jordan Peterson’s daughter) that says, “Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels.” She’s fun to listen to. She’s a very balanced thinker between using logic without disregarding emotions, which I really respect. You’d probably enjoy her videos on TH-cam. She touches on a lot of health and diet issues, as well as education and some politics and even religion. She recently became a Believer and it blesses this mother’s heart to watch her faith grow!
Blessings on your journey to healthy living Neveah! Never give up! It’s doable. Ask God for guidance. He cares about all things we have to navigate in life. As our Creator, He knows best what we need as an individual to support our health.

Loved that you had the app that scans the product and gives it a number that shows how much good and or bad stuff is in the product. One word of advice don't drink sodas as they contain High Fructose Corn Syrup which is an artificial sugar with many bad side effects. Also the packaged macaroni and cheese produced in this country has bad stuff in it, even it tastes so good. In Europe they do not allow any of the bad stuff that is allowed in the States. I now spend my days conducting in-depth research on all matters regarding health, and if there is one thing I have learned is to go the extra mile and to go a little further so as to trust and verify. So much knowledge I would love to share but I’m sure you will acquire such knowledge in your own time…that is if you choose to never give up the passion, desire, and the journey to learn more. I want you to know that I am so happy to hear of your awareness regarding all things health…and at such a young age is remarkable! Whole food sourced from a good and reliable source…those who practice responsible farming methods (i.e., regenerative farming) is always the best place to start. Regarding skin/body care…you could always make your own (like I have chosen to do)…simplicity is the key eliminating the harmful list of ingredients noone should ever want to put on their body…which inevitably will end up in the blood stream eventually taxing and putting a tremendous strain on the liver. Not only are homemade products with good ingredients better for your body but they are much cheaper in the long run as well as easier on the pocketbook.

Now some ingredients aren’t being put on labels. I noticed a store brand of orange juice that I didn’t buy had high fructose, but my husband came home with it when the one we buy wasn’t available. The label didn’t have fructose listed anymore. Guys, this is dangerous for those with kidney and diabetes problems who have to avoid fructose and other added ingredients.

    • @J_Chap
      @J_Chap 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Orange juice is a scam anyway. It sits in vats for months, sometimes a year or more, before it is processed and when it's processed they add in "flavor" packets to give it that familiar flavor Americans are used to. Look up videos about it and you will never buy orange juice again! The only way to guarantee you are drinking real orange juice is to fresh squeeze it yourself.

He’s an old school Dem which is better than both of today’s parties. I’m in my 60’s and voted Democrat my entire adult life until the 2016 primaries exposed the corruption in my party. I no longer affiliate myself with any party and stopped voting because I won’t participate in voting for the lesser evil. Plus, it doesn’t matter who’s elected, they’re all working for the most financially powerful who are really running the show. Except for RFK Jr. That they’ve done everything they can to keep him off the ballots and censor him speaks volumes in his favor.

I LOVE the Yuka app. I've been using it for a few years now. I love that it gives you alternative options for the things you scan. I wish this would've been around years ago. It is definitely an eye-opener for all the harmful additives in our food, personal hygiene, and cleaning items. A few of my favorite products that rate excellent are Burt's Bees Charcoal + Whitening Toothpaste and Tom's wicked fresh mouthwash. I also use Native brand Shampoo, Conditioner, and Bodywash which has an excellent rating as well. And an FYI hair conditioner works very well for shaving cream. I am glad that you are bringing awareness to the harmful additives in every day products. Keep up the great work! 😊

Potato tacos: start with a partly cooked whole potato, approximately 1 cup. Cut the potato in 1/2 in pieces. Fry in a tablespoon of coconut oil or bacon grease. When the potato starts to brown add some sweet or hot peppers diced, and chopped tomatoes if desired. stir together 3 eggs with hot sauce and add to pan. add a dash of seasoned salt and 1/4 cup of grated cheese. fold and stir to cook through, serve on 3 warm flour tortillas. Do not use vegetable oil. I use Fiesta Cajun-all seasoning but any similar will do.

Nevaeh, I want to express to you just how good a communicator you are. You are completely at ease in front of the camera and clearly convey what it is you wish to speak about, and considering your age the fact that the word "LIKE" is not used several times in every sentence is so refreshing. I for one am hopeful that you use these incredible talents to do good in this world. There is so much division and hatred splitting your USA, and also my Canada at this moment in time it is very refreshing to see and hear young people like yourself step forward and do their best to change the narrative. Good luck moving forward, go out there and do good, you possess all the tools to actually make a difference.

What's also a little worrying is that Food manufacturers don't have to list all the ingredients on their label. So, even if someone is being chemical conscious, there are things that can be added to products that are not governed by agencies like the FDA.
That's a problem. The US is one of the more lenient countries when it comes to what they allow their citizens to consume. It's equally bad hat even if someone is trying to be health conscious, in the modern world, the health conscious choice is often 4x the price. As a single guy I tried to stick to a 'fresh food' concept for my meals, but when you are trying to decide between rent or food, sometimes you have to compromise. Especially up in Canada here with our grocery pricing epidemic we are current under... grocery corps using the Pandemic and i's after effects to justify the obscene price increases we are seeing up here, even this week. I switched from name brand boxed cereal which was a 1kg box for maybe around $8 to the generic equivalent sold in 1kg bags, for $5. Today I grabbed some groceries and that same bag went up to $5.70 now. A 15% price hike overnight.
I think in many countries the gov't has to step in and take a serious look at more strictly regulating ingredients and price. Things are getting out of hand.
