I've found it interesting how caught off guard Blitzø sounds when Stolas asks how his day was. He's genuinely surprised to hear Stolas take interest in him as a person, instead of just a plaything. And it shows Stolas really does care.
@owltrees **spoiler, as well** . . . Well, Oops takes place several months after Ozzie’s. Going off the texts at the end of Western Energy, Stolas has really been trying to course correct things with Blitzø ever since Ozzie’s. (Trying to be more considerate and non-pressuring about their full moon meetups and such) So, maybe he just wasn’t asking particularly personal questions before Ozzie’s, but their argument at the end of the night was a bit of a wakeup call for Stolas, which prompted him to actually try to get to know Blitzø, properly.
It's funny how you noticed and pointed out everything in Blitzs flat except probably the most important detail. His face is crossed out in every picture, showing how much he hates himself and by extension why he is unable to believe anyone else, especially not a price of the Ars Goetia, could love him.
EXACTLY. Like, I love her reactions, she notices a lot of details and understands characters and their relationships pretty well almost right away, unlike a lot of reaction channels I’ve seen, so I was really looking forward to her noticing this one detail and saying something about it, but she didn’t even mention it. But that’s whatever, she mentioned everything else I wanted her to see and speak about, so that was a great video, like always. Though I still do want to hear some of her thoughts about that detail, because honestly that’s one of my favorite details about Blitz, and I felt upset that not many reactors even noticed that, AND again, listening to her thoughts about details and characters is very cool, because she pretty quickly understands things right from them, and explains them in a nice-to-listen way
@@PurpleHoodie666 The apartment backgrounds are so dark that I never would have noticed the photos being crossed out if people hadn't pointed it out. It's not surprising that hardly any reactors pick it up. Sometimes the background artists have posted their work for later for us to admire, I'd particularly love to see the apartment and the photo wall in good lighting! There's SO much information on that wall and I can't make out a lot of it even in fan screenshots zoomed in.
I missed it the first time through too reactions like this are where I caught it. Depression and self hatred are a funny thing cuz I’ve gone through it similar to how biltzo is but watching it from the other side I’m like “blitz how can you not see that stolas loves you” which is literally stuff I’ve had said to me my whole life
Also he is most likely a member of the Ars Goetia family Asmodeus appears in the real life book "the ars goetia" and while his Helluva Boss design keeps true with it's description from 14th century textes (three head, breath fire, ect...) they also have added birds elements that is most likely to signify his connection to this family so that was more personal to Stolas than any other sin
So, a little bit of lore: Asmodeus, AKA Ozzie, is based on the actual 3 faced demon of lust. You can see this Ozzie's other two faces as shadows on either side of his head. He's one one of the seven deadly sins, royal demons higher ranked than the Ars Goetia, (Stolas,) but lower than the Morningstar Family. They embody one of the sins, and run that respective ring. For example, Lucifer is pride, and Ozzie is Lust. He's also voiced by James Monroe Inglehart, who plays the Genie in the Broadway version of Aladdin, and, as you said, voices Zestial.
Fun thing about Asmodeus is while he is the Prince of Lust he is also the King of the Ars Goetia so he has a stronger connection to Stolas than the other sins as well.
@@HoloWolf_YTit was delayed for well over a year I think😭😭 I don’t remember how long exactly but it felt foreverrrrr by the time it did come out season 2 was halfway through
@@Nytesplat Yep, I remember sitting and waiting through all of that. As someone who's part of the Miraculous Ladybug fandom, I was used to having lots of patience tho lol
@@HoloWolf_YTyea they started airing season 2 before episode 8 due to the legal reasons the legal reasons we later realised was because beelzebub was voiced by kesha and she also wrote cotton candy but she was having legal issues with her old producers who owned her music and stuff and were absolute garbage people the episode aired after that case and stuff finished or helluva would have probably gotten copyrighted and sued
The thing is, most people don't understand just HOW MUCH Blitzø hates himself. From scratching his own face from pictures to being unable to see Stolas' feelings and pushing away everyone who shows him love(Verosika) In episode 2, Loo Loo Land, robo Fizz asks him "Does anybody loves YOU?" and Blitzø replies "no" without second of hesitation or thinking. He just states it as a fact. And, I know that his answer is supposed to be funny, but the joke isn't even in his "no", it's in "but at least I'm good with the guns!".
To explain Episode 8 without spoiling the surprise, originally Episode 7 was titled "Finale Part 1" with Episode 8 being Part 2. But due to some legal trouble involving a special guest they were able to get it was delayed, so instead of keeping the fans waiting they just went to season 2 until they could get the issue sorted out, renaming Episode 7 as the season finale.
yeah, people have mentioned that the cherub episode was the last filler episode but Episode 8 is kinda a filler episode now too It does give view on a few things (I won’t go into details bc of spoilers) kind of but in all its really just a fun little way to end the season
@@theesants I think it brings enough to the table to not be considered a filler episode, but I guess I can understand other people seeing it like that, especially if they saw the first episodes of season 2 before it premiered
@@theesantsepisode 8 is absolutely NOT filler. 1. It gives us some insight into Loona and introduces us to one of the sins. 2. It resolves what happened with Blitzø after Ozzie's, also giving us more insight on his character and expanding his relationship with Loona 3. We get to see Loona and Blitzø actually acting like a family. Episode had to character and world Building to be considered filler. And entirely too much plot relevance to be compared to CHERUB. The worst episode of the series so far.
@@whitenobeard you’re right! the only reason i said it was filler was because a lot of people were expecting it to be a much bigger episode that involves blitz and stolas (at least from what i saw when people were making theories for the episode) but in reality it didn’t give us that much on the relationship of stolitz after ozzies besides from blitz’s reaction although compared to the cherub episode it is very much lore packed as you said! but in the end, episode 8 was mainly just supposed to be a fun way to end season 1 like with the hellhound party that was already foreshadowed in episode 3 when tex invited luna to it
@@tahraethestoryteller6079 Ozzie? No he doesn't, he was completely right when he kicked them out. Moxxie's song was not appropriate for the club. It's a strip/sex/lust club, not a love club. His hypocrisy notwithstanding
@tahraethestoryteller6079 He doesn’t own them an apology at all. Moxxie was singing a song that all love. It’s a club of lust and s*x not a lovey dovey club. Besides Ozzie actually gave Moxxie a chance to change the song but he passed, and Millie literally hit Fizz with a guitar.
Honestly, it's a wonder Asmodeus was so accommodating especially after Millie physically attacked Fizzarolli. He even let Moxxie finish his song (despite how it was, in Ozzie's own words, killing the vibe) before simply kicking them out. I can't wait to see your reactions to some of the later episodes!
Episode 8 was originally meant to be the season final but some legal nonsense had happened which delayed it, it's taken care of so good to watch, the prominent voice actor of that episode is the reason.
A thing that people kinda misinterpret the first time watching is that Ozzie isn't actually roasting stolas. He's literally telling him he's embodying the spirit of lust. Now to stolas it could be considered an insult but it isn't the intention
Ozzie is exalting Stolas' decision in trading his family in the name of lust. However, by doing that, he placed Stolas in a very embarrassing position, since he (a royal demon) is dating an imp, a demon located at the bottom of the hierarchy.
*Oh man* , the episode that broke Stolitz. And our hearts. That final scene in car especially is the most painful scene in the show up to this point. Brandon Rogers displayed Blitz's bottled up frustration while also trying not to break down crying the entire conversation *masterfully.*
Fun fact, if you notice the Novella Stolas was watching the girl had a silver streak in her hair, and moments later when Stolas is getting ready he adds a similar streak to his hair too.
A few more tidbits from this episode: - When Blitzo is looking around with his binoculars, the first group he spots has the butler from Stolas' palace, being adored by a number of succubi. (What's the word for a group of succubi/incubi? I feel like it should be "tramp".) Since he gets beat up on the job a lot, I'm glad he's at least having fun after hours. - The waiter gives Blitzo encouraging finger guns when he seats them. It is not appreciated. - Asmodeus has his Ars Goetia sigil inscribed in the floor of the stage, and pointedly kicks Moxxie into it during his song. Stolas has a sigil too, on the balcony of his palace. Wikipedia tells me there are 72 of these classical demon bigwigs - I wonder how many of them will show up in these shows? - Even Verosika looks touched by Moxxie's song there at the end! I think she wasn't lying in her song this episode, but she wasn't telling the full truth either - before things went sour for them Blitzo must have been great in the sack, or why would she have dated him seriously? -The first photo on Blitzo's phone is a selfie with him and Stolas, taken while Stolas was sleeping. He does care! - His mom is wearing the red skull ornament that Blitzo almost always has on him somewhere. This episode it was on his belt buckle, but it's usually at his neck.
The amount of time from when he says ‘be there in twenty’ to when he arrives is 20 seconds. He meant be there in 20 seconds, not 20 minutes. That made me giggle.
I didn't even notice, that's hilarious! They did a similar thing in s2 e7 in the song "2 Minutes Notice" since the last time he says fuck you to Mammon is 2 minutes after he says "here's my 2 minutes notice" I love those little details
Yeah, he worked with a vocal coach in order to be able to sustain doing the voice without vocal fry, as he was doing the beetlejuice voice 6 days a week on Broadway.
If it sounds like it should create a million vocal nodes but is actually something you can train to do safely, it always ends up being about learning to engage the false folds/false cords. Fake vocal fry, death metal screaming, or Tuvan throat singing, all are dependent on false fold training.
I was wondering about that since the first time I saw and heard fizz, so that’s actually nice to know that he worked on a way to voice him without hurting his throat. It sounds like a very hard thing to do, he’s doing an amazing job and I love Fizz’s voice
The voice of Asmodeus is the same as the hellhound Tex that Loona had a crush on. It’s James Monroe Iglehart who played the Genie in Broadway and I think Oogie Boogie as well. He was also Zestial in Hazbin Hotel. Zestial was the black and green spider overlord who was a close friend of Carmilla
A couple of interesting points, during the song, around 12:15 when Asmodeus finishes his verse about Stolas and Blitzø, Blitzø looks at Stolas almost in a hoping for reassurance type of way, then Stolas puts his menu up, breaking that eye contact rather harshly. And Blitzø looks away and I think in that moment he feels as though his fears regarding their relationship have been validated. Also, at the end of the show when Blitzø returns to his house, in all of the pictures in the wall, his face is scribbled out, showing his self loathing, he wants to have the memories of the people he cares about, but he doesn't want to be reminded that, at least in his mind, he isn't deserving of them.
I don't think Stolas intended for it to be harsh, I think he was hiding his face more out of shame for himself and how his actions have affected Octavia (they had just mentioned her in the song right before this moment) but was misinterpreted as being ashamed of being seen with Blitz
16:15 Fun fact: a friend of mine showed me the House of Asmodeus song sequence one day when we were hanging out a couple years back, so this was before the Hazbin Hotel series came out and I wasn't heavily following any news regarding it or Helluva Boss (I had only seen the Hazbin pilot at this point.) But this whole scene hooked me back into anticipation for Hazbin and eventually watching Helluva Boss as well. From this sounding and feeling like a more mature Disney villain song, Moxxie and Millie's wholesome romance, to the drama with Blitzo and Stolas, also hearing Alex Brightman and Cristina Vee?! Like OMG??? And that's not even to mention the animation, which is great. All in all, just love this entire scene.
One detail worth noticing alongside all the ponies and pictures of everyone...Blitz has a certain level of self-hatred to the point where he covers his own face in every picture.
Another easy to miss detail is that during the conversation in the van, Blitz actually starts to tear up a bit for a sec but he gathers himself quickly (specifically it's when he's telling Stolas he's not in the mood today)
Episode 7 is FINALE PART 1. Episode 8 had some legal issues with a guest appearance so it took a long time to release and instead of waiting they just started releasing season 2 before episode 8 could be released
You'd be shocked how many actually huge names are apart of the show. Next episode is another one. Also, Striker's original VO was Norman Reedus (it changes in season 2 because, let's face it, Norman is busy as hell)
Asmodeus is basically the embodiment of the sin of lust, and yes he rules the lust ring. Cool thing I don't see talked enough is that all seven sins in the Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel universe are actually based on real demonology, Asmodeus representing the sin of Lust, Beelzebub representing gluttony, Belphegor with sloth, Mammon with greed, Leviathan for envy, Satan for wrath and Lucifer for pride (yes, Lucifer from Hazbin Hotel is also one of the sins and rules over the pride ring, but he is still far above the other sins as ruler of Hell itself). Btw, the names of the sins are not a spoiler since those are just their real demonic names and some of them haven't even appeared yet, but I think it's good to have the knowledge of their names beforehand that way when a sin appears for the first time is easier to recognize them.
This was my favorite episode from season 1. The addition of Asmodeus and seeing the real Fizzaroli was great. Seeing one of the rulers of hell being Asmodeus the sin of lust was sm fun I loved his design and his va is amazing. Oooo and the duet they had was amazing top 3 song in this show even Verosika’s moment I loved it. It just showed how much Blitz really hurt her with his actions. It really sucked seeing precious Stolas being used as a way to spy on the M&M’s. I just love this whole episode all around it was great. At the time this was the finale and due to copyright reasons part 2 of the finale which was more like an addition it wasn’t necessary for viewing said the creator was delayed. Then it was released what feels like a couple of months ago💀.
my 2 favourite quotes from these 2 shows are "Take that depression" and "That's a mood Gabriella" also, Stolas's cape effect is literally made by animating a green screen into the scene
Episode 8 was stuck in copyright limbo for nearly a year, thanks to the contributer of one song's and voice acting (which I won't spoil) at-the-time manager being a greedy douche, blocking the song, in spite of this being in direct opposition of the actual star he was supposed to represent. That forced Vivi & Co to just go on with season 2 without airing it, making ep7 the de-facto season finale for quite some time. But thankfully episode 8 has since been released for everyone to enjoy.
I feel that blitz is so interested and almost studies m&ms relationship so much is because he’s trying to figure out what a healthy relationship is supposed to be and how to get that kind of stability and love.
Blitz didnt talk with Stolas bc Stolas hid his face when Osmodeus called him out, he feels betrayed and hurt which you can see. Stolas is hurting blitz unintentionally.
Episodes 7 & 8 together make up the two-part season 1 finale. However, due to a legal battle, episode 8 was delayed until we were a few episodes into season 2. They posted episode 8 right after the matter was finally settled in court.
Fun fact: When Asmodeus says "You sold your life for a thrust, now that's the spirit of lust," he was saying he was proud of Stolas. His whole thing is lust, so why would he use it as an insult. Also, Asmodeus is a part of the Ars Goetia family, making him related to Stolas.
@Weeby Newz Here's a little nugget of info. Our Scummy boy Valentino owns a custom Fizzy bot called Kitty. You can often see her serving the V's and Valentino drinks. She's got a Harley Quinn black, red, and white pattern.
Episode 8 of season 1 was released late, after season 2 was already releasing, but it is still part of season 1. I would recommend watching it before starting season 2.
Details to note, that you didn’t mention in the video: - If you look at the photos on the wall in Blitzø’s apartment, you can see that he’s scribbled over his own face in every picture with him in it. - Looking at the pictures of young Blitzø, notice that he doesn’t have all the big white patches of skin on his face/body that he does now. - Young Fizz has regular arms and legs in the photos, whereas now his limbs are obviously robotic prosthetics. Also, where Fizz had large, sturdy horns as a kid/teen, now he wears a floppy jester hat that hides the top of his head and vaguely resembles his horns. - In the picture of Blitzø’s mom, she’s wearing the same choker necklace that Blitzø now wears.
You probably won't see the other rings in Hazbin Hotel since Charlie is the only hellborn main character in that series. Only hellborn demons can travel the rings of hell. Damned human souls can only occupy the pride ring. We're still not sure if that's a law in hell, or if they physically cannot go
gurl just wait till season 2, you're going to be laughing and crying. It gets SO much better and we get a lot of back story for Blitzo, Fizz and stolas that explains a lot about what there relationships are to each other.
At long last Ozzie’s has come out. This episode and Truth Seekers is where the team really stepped up their game. Also the next episode (Queen Bee) was meant to be part two of the finale but it was delayed by a year and a half due to legal issues. Which it will probably make sense once you watch it.
One of the things I picked up from rewatching "Truth Seekers" with reactors is the way Blitzo looks downcast and pensive as they step through the portal to go home, like he's expecting to get deservedly chewed out by Stolas. There's a microsecond of surprise when Stolas picks him up and flirtatiously asks for a thankyou instead - then he quickly puts on his confident persona, because now he knows what's expected of him and he is More Than Fine with this new idea, he really is grateful and this is the only way he can show it and also it's going to be fun.
There is definitly something going on between the real Fizz and Ozzie 😏. "House of Asmodous" is one of my favorite songs in the whole show, everything what happends in the song is just perfect, especially the contrast between the lovey-dovey M & M and the Stolitz drama. And Blitzo hates himself so much that he crosses himself out on all the photos. This is so sad 😢
James Monroe Iglehart has popped up more than you realize. Not only is he the voice of Asmodius and Zestial, he also voiced the big lizard guy that called Charlie crazy in the pilot. And Tex the hellhound from episode 3 of this show. He's also a Broadway star just like brightman he's won awards as the Broadway version of Genie from Aladdin
It is SO REFRESHING how insightful and media literate you are, seriously. The way that you got so incredibly close to the mark in the intro, before diving into the episode proper. I mean your insight while watching Hazbin was what drew me to this channel in the first place but you continue to impress me all the time! Blitz and Stolas are so tragic because they care so much about each other, clearly, but both of them are disasters and have baggage that keep them from communicating and having a healthy relationship. You're SO RIGHT about the power dynamic I'm just now starting the video proper and I cannot WAIT to see how you react to Ozzie's once they get inside. Season two is gonna be SO MUCH fun to revisit with you.
Yeah, it's true that Blitz has a lot of photos of the Imps and Loona (and ponies) in his home... but his face is scribbled out of each photo. He has photos of himself in his office, where people might see them, but when it's in his private space, his self loathing is such that he scribbles himself out of all those photos. He also hangs onto photos that remind him of painful past relationships in his phone. Poor Blitz.
You really hit the nail on the head with your analysis of Blitzo. That he doesn't see himself as being worthy of love, and therefore he refuses to see anything Stolas says as anything but a ploy to get him to bed. Also, when you talked about how he adopted Loona to be able to shower his affections on someone who "couldn't" leave him, and how he lives vicariously through M&M. He really wants what they have, but he pushes people away and shields himself from the possibility of further heartbreak. Have you watched the official music video for "Just look my way", which was made for Stolas? It started as a fanmade song and then was adapted by the Helluva Boss crew and made canon. It will break your heart!
A part of Blitz's reaction at the end of the episode was in response to Stolas's behavior. Blitz was being attacked and made fun of, and when Stolas was noticed, instead of standing up for Blitz, he instead hid behind the menu. Stolas saw that Blitz was being insulted, and hurt, and did nothing about it. That would be a strong sign to many people that the other person does not really care for them. Add to that Bltiz's self-esteem issues, the way Stolas treats him and refers to him as a "plaything," and seeing Millie stand up for Moxxie immediately afterwards, and is it really any surprise that he feels like Stolas doesn't actually care about him?
This is definitely my favorite episode of Helluva Boss. I just can't get over how good the writing is, how much depth there is in all of these characters, and how the Ozzie's sequence shows off so many different relationships. The song is a total banger, and the whole vibe of the night club is really cinematic and cool. Everything about this episode is a 10 for me.
in Hazbin Hotel, it was more focused on the sinner demons who had the inability to leave the Pride Ring compared to Hell-born demons like the imps, succubus, hellhounds, goetias, and of course charlie and her family. That's why in that series the sky was always red. In Helluva Boss on the other hand, we've seen not only the Pride Ring, but also the Greed Ring, and now the Lust Ring. In the next (last) episode, you will meet another deadly sin named Beezlebub who is a party thrower and a Sin of Gluttony (yellow sky).
Episode 8 is effecttively a Part 2 to the season finale. It was delayed b/c of a copyright issue over the actress voicing Queen Bee. Itis VITAL to watch. You'll get more hints as to what happened to Blitz over Season 2 and find out the whole story around S2 ep 6.
Her starting off the episode with how she ships Blitzø and Stolas, not knowing what the episode was felt like i was watching someone about to be hit by a truck and couldn't warn them 😭
0:14 I'm late to the party so I'm sure other people have already explained this in the comments, but the Season 1 finale was originally supposed to be this episode, Ozzie's. Partway through development though they had some extra budget and so started working on a part 2 to the episode called Queen Bee. Queen Bee though had Kesha on as a guest star, and at the time she was going through a bunch of trouble with her record label, delaying the episodes release by an entire year. This didn't bug the crew that much though, as Queen Bee didn't have anything you needed to know for Season 2. Ozzie's was originally titled "Finale Part 1," then when Queen Bee was delayed they changed it to "Finale," and when Queen Bee came out they didn't bother changing it back.
Fun fact: there are several robofizzerolis, as they are sold, and in hazbin hotel, you can can see Valentino in ep2 I believe, with his own personalized servant robofizzeroli.
Asmodeus is one of the seven deadly sins btw, the sin of lust. We've seen four of the seven in both shows so far: Asmodeus, Lucifer, and two others you'll see in Helluva Boss in future episodes. You'll actually see one in the next episode!!
I'm not entirely convinced Lucifer is pride actually. He's his own thing, if anything it might be lilith given what little we know of her it'd be rather fitting, there is also the unanswered questions of seviathan, his father, and satan. Given the photo in lucifer's room where seviathan's father (i think?) looks like lucifer with inverted coloring, I suspect he's probably envy. But he or satan could be pride as well.
@bryanmoberg8408 idk I'm pretty sure Vivziepop confirmed that the seven deadly sins were based off of the seven princes of hell in "The Lanterne of Light". They line up so far anyway. The demons are: Pride: Lucifer Wrath: Satan Gluttony: Beelzebub Greed: Mammon Lust: Asmodeus Envy: Leviathan Sloth: Belphagor It's possible that this gets proved wrong in the future, but this is generally the consensus of the names of each prince (/princess) of hell. Lucifer isn't prideful in the typical sense, I'm pretty sure he's labeled as the prince of pride because of his original mistake. He was "prideful" in the sense of not caring about the consequences of his actions or ideas that he shared with Lilith and Eve. Asmodeus and Beelzebub have shown less stereotypical traits of their sins as well. So I do think Lucifer is indeed the sin of pride, even if he doesn't necessarily come off as super prideful. And Leviathan is the prince of envy as far as we know. Seviathan is a different character I believe
remember to watch episode 8 after this, instead of moving to season 2 just because it says finale. episode 8 of season 1 came out after season 2 premiered because it was pushed back by legal issues, not because of any plot reasons or funky stuff like that.
As someone who is Asexual, if you told me before i watched the show my favorite character was going to be the demon king of lust i would have told you no. But is love this version of Asmodeus. I also find his an interesting demon in other stories like the one where Solomon builds a temple. I admit it did take me way to long to put together that he one of his animal inspirations is a male chicken…. AKA a giant C***.
Oh before someone asks how an asexual can like the king of lust, obviously it is not an attraction thing. It is the same way i like other characters. Interesting visual design, he is voiced wekk, i find his personality interesting, his story compelling (what we have gotten of it). I am interested in more back story for him and more future adventures. I love how his story ends up more slice of life (no spoilers but i ro have more to say.) i also really like him as an adaptation of his Abrahamic mythology. I like the little nods to his mythology. Funny side not different interpretations theorize he could be a son of Lucifer. Other guess he could be a son of lilith. I am sure nighter are true in this universe but that would supper funny for Charlie to have a horny giant rooster demon for an older half brother!!!!
@@cattievogelsong96Well, I’m somewhere on the spectrum and I totally get it. It’s too bad that more people don’t. Plus it’s always interesting to see different interpretations of the Seven Deadly Sins as characters. Obey Me! uses the same classifications of specific demons to the Deadly Sins, with Lucifer as Pride, Asmodeus as Lust, etc. and Asmodeus couldn’t be more different in Obey Me! He’s a beautifully narcissistic and androgynous bishi boy who loves himself (and the player almost as much. Maybe more). I love both interpretations, neither of which are gross. He’s not a son of Lucifer in this, obviously. Lucifer in this universe has only one kid. The Deadlies seem to be pure Platonic embodiments of their sins that sprang up with the creation of Hell.
@@professorbutters oh i totally get in this universe Asmodiou has a different back story. Still wonder if he is half angle. I am just picturing an alternate universe where charlie gets relationship or sex advice from her estranged older half brother Ossie. Would be hilarious!!!
The reason Ozzie looks like Val in his base form is that Val is very envious and copies Ozzie. He oened an adult film industry and copied his style. The only difference is Val is forceful and doesn't believe in consent.
I heard something about Owl's only have one partner their whole life. So that could explain Stolas falling for Blitz when he was young and never loving anyone else.
Episode 8 is part 2 of the finale. Episode 7 originally had "Part 1" as part of the title, but due to legal reasons, episode 8 wasn't able to be released until halfway through season 2. I think they originally took out the "Part 1" from the title when season 2 started coming out because there was a period of time when they thought episode 8 would never be released. When the legal issues were resolved, they finally released episode 8, but they forgot to change the title back on episode 7. It was a very odd experience for those of us who watched the series as it was coming out.
Blitz saw Stolas hiding behind the menu as being ashamed of being seen with him, especially as Stolas didn't stand up for him like Blitz did for Moxie and Millie. I'm guessing Stolas was just embarrassed at being put on the spot and not necessarily at being seen with him, but Blitz has major self worth issues and this only "confirmed" what he already thought: that Stolas was only with him for their arrangement.
And even more by being embarrassed and put in the spotlight by a sin, someone who’s above him in the hierarchy. He didn’t care about people seing him flirt with Blitz at the Harvest Moon festival because it was mainly imps, but he probably feels more embarrassed to be called out by Asmodeus.
I saw an amazing analysis of stoiltz vs M&M and I loved how it said that M&M are meant to be perfect and parallel stoiltz are, at least currently, not able to work because neither of them can trust each other, stolas because he thinks blitzø is only using him for his book, and blitzø because of the fundemental power dynamic, with stolas being extremly high class and blitzø being a hellborn
Asmodeus is also called "Asmoday", "Asmodee", "Ashmedai" "Osmodeus" and "Osmodai". According to the abrahamic lore, Asmodeus is a demon king who helped in the construction of the Temple of Solomon and is the arch-enemy of the angel Raphael as well as the primary antagonist in the Book of Tobit. Together with Lilith, he is the go-to representation of the Sin of Lust. In the Testament of Solomon, he says that he is the son of a human mother and angel father. Lastly, while it is probably not of any relevance for this version, some text depict him as the husband of Lilith.
One thing I think is kinda cool is the sequence with Verosika. In Spring Broken her and Blitz's relationship is played for laughs, the contentious exes, and like it wasn't really a relationship that mattered. Except in Truth Seekers, she appears in Blitz's acid trip calling him out, specifically saying " you shove away anyone who gets too close until they resent you". And here Verosika is playing up the roast for the audience right up until she has him backed up against the stage calling him a heart breaker. The look on her face, that isn't a call-out, that's actual rage. Blitz actually HURT her, and I'm not sure he knew that until that moment because of his expression too. Also? Verosika develops a drinking problem somewhere btw their breakup and Spring Broken. Not necessarily out of the question Blitz was the catalyst.
this is the first reaction to the Ozzie' ep i've seen where the reactor actually mentions and notices how blitzø views he and stolas' relationship. i've seen so many reactors calling blitzø an asshole and stuff when stolas has given him no indication prior to their date that he would be interested in him romantically. LITERALLY our first introduction to stolas is him explicitlly talking about a sexual arrangement so like?? it's nice to see a reactor recognize that both stolas and blitzø need to communicate with each other instead of blaming one for why their relationship is going nowhere healthily.
Episode 8 was the original finale but due to rights issues they couldn't get it out for a good while so because Viv said it wasn't that important going to the premiere of season 2 that they could just start dropping season 2 episodes until they could release episode 8. I, personally, think it's a decently relevant both in the moment and going forward episode.
Idk if you noticed it. Because it took me like 10 rewatches to. But in the part where Asmodeus is singing to Stolas about ignoring his family to get it on with an Imp, Stolas immediately hides his face with the menu, which then pans to Blitz noticing and looking down in sadness. Stolas really doesn't show Blitz that he cares about him seriously beyond k*nky fun. _We_ know he does, but Stolas doesn't show that to Blitz. It seemed like Stolas was finally gonna talk, but after the whole embarrassing night with Asmodeus and Fizzarolli and Verosika, Blitz had all his insecurities blasted in his face, with Stolas unintentionally reaffirming so Blitz was not in the mood.
Damn, I don't often do re-watches so it took me reading this just now to rlly absorb the gravity of how his shame still showed on his face n actions D:
I'm pretty sure the entire Fandom is just screaming at these two to just talk to each other! I really hope they end up together. They both deserve to be happy and I really think they could find that with each other. Though I feel Blitz still has a lot of demons he has to make peace with before accepting that he could be loved by anyone
episode 8 came out in the middle of season 2, I'm pretty sureit wasnot intended originally, but I'm glad they made it because it lifts episode 7 even more than it already is
What you said at the beginning is exactly spot on but don't worry stolas in session two finds a way to fix there dynamics and give both equally power in the relationship where blitz does not need stolas to go take the human world
I feel so bad for Stolas because he got all dolled up and made him look presentable for Blitz only for him to say "That's a bit overkill, don't you think" to Stolas 😢
I've found it interesting how caught off guard Blitzø sounds when Stolas asks how his day was. He's genuinely surprised to hear Stolas take interest in him as a person, instead of just a plaything. And it shows Stolas really does care.
I saw U in the "not so average fangirl" comment

Well, Oops takes place several months after Ozzie’s. Going off the texts at the end of Western Energy, Stolas has really been trying to course correct things with Blitzø ever since Ozzie’s. (Trying to be more considerate and non-pressuring about their full moon meetups and such)
So, maybe he just wasn’t asking particularly personal questions before Ozzie’s, but their argument at the end of the night was a bit of a wakeup call for Stolas, which prompted him to actually try to get to know Blitzø, properly.
I am so ready for Full Moon.
Its not that deep
I didn't notice that until my third watch. And even then it had to be pointed out to me 😅
I missed it the first time through too reactions like this are where I caught it. Depression and self hatred are a funny thing cuz I’ve gone through it similar to how biltzo is but watching it from the other side I’m like “blitz how can you not see that stolas loves you” which is literally stuff I’ve had said to me my whole life
I assumed she would mention that she saw it upon editing and would mention it next time
16:12 Asmodeus being the Sin of Lust it's very likely Valentino based his own design off of Ozzie, Val even owns a Fizzbot seen in Hazbin.
naaaamed Kitty :D
He named that Robo-fizz Kitty by the way which is funny
Also he is most likely a member of the Ars Goetia family
Asmodeus appears in the real life book "the ars goetia" and while his Helluva Boss design keeps true with it's description from 14th century textes (three head, breath fire, ect...) they also have added birds elements that is most likely to signify his connection to this family
so that was more personal to Stolas than any other sin
@@flubble2473 imagine if Val called the robo froggy
@@lynxlikestodraw2656aaugh no ewww why??? 😂💀
James Monroe Inglehart also voiced Zestial if I recall correctly
@@michelk.8008 I don't think you read the full comment or watched the video lmao
He voices Vortex, too. And plays Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in Hamilton.
Fun thing about Asmodeus is while he is the Prince of Lust he is also the King of the Ars Goetia so he has a stronger connection to Stolas than the other sins as well.
@@DanGamingFan2406 wait so Daveed Diggs? I think that was his name

From scratching his own face from pictures to being unable to see Stolas' feelings and pushing away everyone who shows him love(Verosika)
In episode 2, Loo Loo Land, robo Fizz asks him "Does anybody loves YOU?" and Blitzø replies "no" without second of hesitation or thinking.
But due to some legal trouble involving a special guest they were able to get it was delayed, so instead of keeping the fans waiting they just went to season 2 until they could get the issue sorted out, renaming Episode 7 as the season finale.
yeah, people have mentioned that the cherub episode was the last filler episode but Episode 8 is kinda a filler episode now too
It does give view on a few things (I won’t go into details bc of spoilers) kind of but in all its really just a fun little way to end the season
2. It resolves what happened with Blitzø after Ozzie's, also giving us more insight on his character and expanding his relationship with Loona
3. We get to see Loona and Blitzø actually acting like a family.
Episode had to character and world Building to be considered filler. And entirely too much plot relevance to be compared to CHERUB. The worst episode of the series so far.
@@whitenobeard you’re right! the only reason i said it was filler was because a lot of people were expecting it to be a much bigger episode that involves blitz and stolas (at least from what i saw when people were making theories for the episode) but in reality it didn’t give us that much on the relationship of stolitz after ozzies besides from blitz’s reaction
although compared to the cherub episode it is very much lore packed as you said!
but in the end, episode 8 was mainly just supposed to be a fun way to end season 1 like with the hellhound party that was already foreshadowed in episode 3 when tex invited luna to it
“You guys just need to talk!!” Is the motto for their whole relationship 😭
I never noticed the angel dust poster, its so neat how many references they snuck in the show
Oh boy, the tragic episode. Like "tearing at your heartstrings" tragic. But also the one that introduces best boy himself Ozzie

@@tahraethestoryteller6079He hasnt seen M&M since this episode, so he couldnt really apologize for now
@@tahraethestoryteller6079 Ozzie? No he doesn't, he was completely right when he kicked them out. Moxxie's song was not appropriate for the club. It's a strip/sex/lust club, not a love club. His hypocrisy notwithstanding
@@GasparzinOfTheCoffeehe's seen them quite a lot since then....
Oh sorry!! Thought you were talking about Blitzo 😂
Agree!
Until Look my way came out and swooped the most painful scene award 😭
Fun fact, if you notice the Novella Stolas was watching the girl had a silver streak in her hair, and moments later when Stolas is getting ready he adds a similar streak to his hair too.
I was wondering what that was.
A few more tidbits from this episode:
- When Blitzo is looking around with his binoculars, the first group he spots has the butler from Stolas' palace, being adored by a number of succubi.
I didn't even relize that! Wow, that is so him though XD
Okay, that's hilarious 😂
I didn't even notice, that's hilarious! They did a similar thing in s2 e7 in the song "2 Minutes Notice" since the last time he says fuck you to Mammon is 2 minutes after he says "here's my 2 minutes notice" I love those little details
Fun fact: when Stolas says "I can be there in 20", he appears in the Lust Ring exactly 20 seconds later.
I remember seeing an interview of Alex Brightman. Apparently, he can talk as BeetleJuice/Fizzarolli without hurting his throat.
Yeah, he worked with a vocal coach in order to be able to sustain doing the voice without vocal fry, as he was doing the beetlejuice voice 6 days a week on Broadway.
Mad props for that...many actors have a lot of throat strain while doing such voices
The wall of pictures in Blitz's home explains pretty much everything.
To be specific, Blitz scribbled himself out of all the pictures. 😧
Also Barfly Lizard Demon #1 (or something like that) in the Hazbin Hotel pilot, he's been connected to Spindlehorse for a long time.
20:09 Gotta love how in the background, Stolas gives a look that says, "How in the seven rings of Hell did Blitzy manage to score THAT in the past?"
Sad but cute fun fact about owls is that they only fall in love ONCE and if they lose their partner they live out their days alone... ;-;
I want to see the other 3 deadly sins
@@ZachyWacky789 so do I, I can't wait to see their designs
Then it was released what feels like a couple of months ago💀.
my 2 favourite quotes from these 2 shows are "Take that depression" and "That's a mood Gabriella"
also, Stolas's cape effect is literally made by animating a green screen into the scene
I love how both phone call scenes contain almost the exact same vibes as well.
16:04 it was confirmed that Val intentionally copied Ozzie's style with all the feathers and fur
Wow. That’s amazing.
Also, Asmodeus is a part of the Ars Goetia family, making him related to Stolas.
oh, that explains something much later I'd wondered about.
Details to note, that you didn’t mention in the video:
- If you look at the photos on the wall in Blitzø’s apartment, you can see that he’s scribbled over his own face in every picture with him in it.
20:18 Stolas's face is like "YOU PULLED THAT!? 👁👄👁"
You probably won't see the other rings in Hazbin Hotel since Charlie is the only hellborn main character in that series. Only hellborn demons can travel the rings of hell. Damned human souls can only occupy the pride ring. We're still not sure if that's a law in hell, or if they physically cannot go
They tweet did use the wording of exist.
gurl just wait till season 2, you're going to be laughing and crying.
“Ok, keep that guy far away from me…” hits a bit different later on…
There is definitly something going on between the real Fizz and Ozzie 😏.
„You fuckin‘ hypocrites.“
James Monroe Iglehart has popped up more than you realize. Not only is he the voice of Asmodius and Zestial, he also voiced the big lizard guy that called Charlie crazy in the pilot. And Tex the hellhound from episode 3 of this show. He's also a Broadway star just like brightman he's won awards as the Broadway version of Genie from Aladdin
You didn't see much of other rings because sinners are not allowed to leave the pride ring, unless something in lore has changed
The specific wording used in the tweet where is was confirmed was they could "only exist in" the Pride Ring.
Is I.M.P. located in The Pride Ring? Cause if not, then that's a pretty big fucking plot hole.
@@makslesniewski It is
It is SO REFRESHING how insightful and media literate you are, seriously.
Poor Blitz.
It's incredible how you nailed what was being said in the hallucination in that ep 6 recap
You don’t realize how lucky you are
Episode 8 got blocked so we had to skip to season two with no answers
16:09 while isn’t confirmed there are many theories stating that Valentino copied Ozzie’s “disguised form” which honestly I 100% agree with
You really hit the nail on the head with your analysis of Blitzo.
Fizz is an adorable *PRECIOUS* bean, and he must be protected at all costs.
Her starting off the episode with how she ships Blitzø and Stolas, not knowing what the episode was felt like i was watching someone about to be hit by a truck and couldn't warn them 😭
Episode 8 is the real Final of season 1 it is not a bonus story some issues happened that caused episode 8 to be delayed so yeah
The "one year marriage anniversary" is also the one year anniversary to episode one being aired to the day.
The demons are:
Pride: Lucifer
Wrath: Satan
Gluttony: Beelzebub
Greed: Mammon
Lust: Asmodeus
Envy: Leviathan
Sloth: Belphagor
It's possible that this gets proved wrong in the future, but this is generally the consensus of the names of each prince (/princess) of hell.
Episode 7 originally said finale part 1 but episode 8 took so long to come out season 2 was already airing when they finally uploaded it
I heard something about Owl's only have one partner their whole life. So that could explain Stolas falling for Blitz when he was young and never loving anyone else.
SPOILERS ass hat.
Hey now, spoilers!
SPOILERS! DELETE IMMEDIATELY! What's wrong with you?
Notice the pictures on his walls near the end of the episode, he drew over all his faces in all the photos.
Stolas is adorable 9:11
This chapter always breaks my heart 💔💔💔
When I first heard where their date was, my very first thought was how Moxy and Millie are way too wholesome for the Lust ring.
Asmodeus' voice actor was also the original voice of the genie on Broadway's Aladdin!!
26:15 You saw everything except that he crossed himself from all the photos he has :') And honestly, relatable
Poor Verosika 😞 i never thought i would feel sorry for a literal succubus
This episode was one of my favorite, I loved the music and seeing blitzø cry killed me inside a bit
Ozzie didn’t steal Val’s look, Val stole Ozzie’s look. Valentino dosen’t have an original bone in his body.
this is the first reaction to the Ozzie' ep i've seen where the reactor actually mentions and notices how blitzø views he and stolas' relationship. i've seen so many reactors calling blitzø an asshole and stuff when stolas has given him no indication prior to their date that he would be interested in him romantically.
Asmodeus is the king of the Ars Goetia in addition to being the Deadly Sin of Lust
Damn, I don't often do re-watches so it took me reading this just now to rlly absorb the gravity of how his shame still showed on his face n actions D:
it blows my mind how you predict almost everything right before it happens!!
This episode is GOLD. I can't wait for you to fall in love with Fizz for real.
Knowing how the episode ends, I had to steel myself for your excitement as it went on. Stolas is definitely my favorite character too!
Some one get this girl a theatre nerd Oscar, and also some one tell her that’s not the season finale actually❤❤❤
25:15 You hit the nail on the head, that is exactly Blitzø’s mindset! 🥲
I am sad we didn’t get at least a minute of Weeby gushing over Stolas’s star cape.
Man, imagine just being able to watch the next episode? What a concept.
episode 8 came out in the middle of season 2, I'm pretty sureit wasnot intended originally, but I'm glad they made it because it lifts episode 7 even more than it already is
Episode 8 was meant to release before season 2 but there were legal issues.
