You'll find pale fish in super shallow muddy water. Also a pale fish in the live well will turn super colorful in just a few seconds. They change color super super quickly and it seems like they adapt to the conditions to blend in best.
Exactly. I caught a very white/pale bass Saturday in shallow dirty water. At weigh in I noticed that fish was very colorful and it’s markings were very prominent. Weird…
Interesting, Tyler. I have seen this coloration with catfish on Grand Lake. Fishing in early March, found blue cats in 50 - 60 ft of water, all boated had mud on their bellies and were almost completely white.
I was taught in my non major biology courses that freshwater fish "pee" because of osmosis. They have to expel the water that is entering their cell walls through osmosis, because there is more salt in thier cells than the surrounding water. If that's the case then it doesnt have anything to do with spawning, but I am not an expert.
Hey Tyler it’s fen stumpf Great video! I had a video suggestion that I want to hear what you opinion is On this. The question is do you think that the advancements in technology dulls your fishing instincts?
Personally, I think it could build them. I’m not a scoping man myself, but fish NOT biting can teach you so much more if you’re sure there’s a fish over there. As for crappie guys like myself, same goes there, just makes it easier to learn
I agree with what you are saying. But i feel like if you go all in on the scoping thing you can get caught up and fish for what you see on your screen and not your instincts or gut feeling. FWI I’m not against FFS
I was expecting you to mention red lips as well…always heard that that means they are eating crawfish…any truth to that? Thanks for all the videos, def made me better!
I have been noticing more red lipped bass this spring than at any time in the last couple of years across a few different fisheries so I too am curious.
Quick question. I'm serious this is for a personal study that I am doing, any info would help. Are any of the content creators who make instructional/technique video's that doesn't involve FFS or the techniques used when using FFS worried about slowly becoming irrelevant in the TH-cam fishing world, bait marketing and so on?

Your rod sleeves are great. I really like them.
That’s great advice. Thank you!
I'm fishing on the 8th. Do you think the eclipse will effect the fish? If so, in what ways?
