This is brilliant Chris. I improved hugely on my short irons using the ankle roll to initiate the downswing but long irons were very inconsistent because in the downswing I was still thinking about feet and left hip, and the rest of my body was left to sort itself out. But switching to the belt buckle focus has got me flushing my 4i in the practice net. Can't wait to see what happens on the course. I just have to explain to the wife why there's a big black line on the wardrobe mirror.
hahahah I cracked up at the black line on the mirror. Tell the wife that your golf swing is more important than fashion at the moment and once you get it all worked out and up to full speed, she can regain control of the mirror. Well done sir. Good luck out there and wishing you much success with your newly found movement.
In my view this is as good as golf coaching gets. I appriciate the detailed explanation and careful step by step process throughout the drill protocol. I struggle with effective weight shift and now I get what is needed to sort that. I really value the time and effort to put together such useful videos. Well done team MyGolfDNA.
Thanks for the kind words Graeme and so glad you found the information you need to do one of the hardest moves in the swing correctly. Please let us know if you need any help or have any questions along the way.
Wow - Turning your "rib cage" as mush as possible is money. I kept trying to turn the shoulders and was not getting the "twist (rubber ban like)" big difference AND you get the benefit of the belt up a hair so " down and lower " feels most logically and automatic. Great stuff.
Yeah, if you look at pros, when they swing it's almost as if their body doesn't move. It's stable, they are always in balance and their body doesn't "wobble". You can't have low point control if your body is moving all over the place. Frankly, I'm also taking dance lessons and the slow ones require an enormous degree of balance and muscle control, and that has helped with my golf swing (unfortunately not nearly enough). My instructor even commented on the connection. Oh, and, thanks again for the video, Chris.
So I tried this. I’m a 62 YO 5 handicap. What I immediately noticed was my shot dispersion with my gap wedge. It narrowed to about 10 yards, the variables being heavy, flush and thin. Very helpful instructions indeed.

❤ Eureka! Thanks Chris & Jase for breaking up the sequences so meticulously.
My pleasure. Always happy to help:)

Your point about feeling the weight shift into the lead ankle has helped me reduce (hopefully eliminate) fat and topped shots.
That's awesome!!!! Always great to be moving as far away from the fat and topped ones. Keep it going!!!
Agreed. Awesome coaching
Thank you so much Tony!
