Lifelong Steelers fan & remember that game live from my living room. Love the end of the video here because both teams are on the field shaking hands instead today’s BS that losing the SB makes the whole season a failure. It’s not true. The Cowboys 1978 season was still a great success & they were a classy team.
@@brandonmorris9889 *NOBODY* ..was beating the Steelers back then. All the "cowboys could never beat them" ...blah blah blah. Again put anybody in there with them and it would have been a worse beating. Unless you pull a Raiders/Browns and just straight up injure them.🤕
God's Team...when Roger and Drew pass I will bawl like a baby. 33 was the prettiest runner in NFL history. Drew and Harvey belong in the H.O.F. Brad Shamm too. Lol, what's wrong with the Dallas Cowboys? That's why they are America's Team. The most talked about, most judged, the spotlight never burned brighter on any NFL team. In Texas football is absolute, undeniable, and unheralded as a State's majesty can possibly be. The Dallas Cowboys epitomize that mentality.
Where it all started THIS when it came to America's team origins. Boy it really irked Tom Landry when he saw this. It put a target on the Cowboys back.
I was so pissed about that Superbowl. And I was only 7 going on 8. The Cowboys only got a little revenge in the mid 90s Superbowl. But it is what it is. The Steelers were the team of the 70s. They were a juggernaut. Unfortunately, the Cowboys were just not quite as good, it cost the Cowboys 2 Superbowls.
Always will be AMERICA 'S TEAM damit!
They didn't choose it these guys put it on them. And it's stuck
Love them or hate them the Dallas Cowboys are the most popular team and have been since the 70s, deal with it.

Cowboys fan here, respect brother, I hope one day our teams can meet again in the SB
Easy for you to say. Your team won.
I never forgave Jackie Smith for dropping that sure-TD. Still pisses me the f*** off after all these years!

BEST INTRO EVER!!!!
This is when the Cowboys were the dominant team in NFC. Until they ran into the Steelers of course.

Tom Landry
The cowboys have been in more super bowls and confetence championships than any other franchise in NFL history
Yes the Cowboys haven't been to the Super Bowl since 95, but they still have 5 lombardi's in their trophy case.
I notice that tom landry and chuck noll were the only NFL coaches who never lost their tempers on the sidelines
Boise State is without question America's Team and the kind of player that goes to Boise State are real deal Cowboys
What?

Big fan of Hollywood Henderson but he seemed out of his mind in 1978 lol
@Deese Knutz Yep, one of the original "cocaine cowboys"
@Deese Knutz Chuck Howley was better.

Anyone know what that NFL films track that plays in the intro is called?
Gathering crowds - John Scott
Pittsburgh just made bigger plays in those Super Bowls.
The cowboys did too they just weren't persistent enough as the steelers to win another back to back super bowls
does anyone know the name of the song in the opening dialogue of this short film
Gathering Crowds
@@kyle1910 thank you. I heard this song on tv and had a flashback to “America’s Team”

What’s the name of the music at the beginning?
Found it, thank you to the comment section

Hey what's the name of that song playing through the intro? I hear it all the time in NFL FIlms but I can't find the name
Its called "Gathering Crowds". Played during many Wimbledon intros as well as golf coverage. I think this was CBS primarily.
It's actually this week in baseballs theme....some documentary's used it from the 70's through the 80's
"America's Team?" The Steelers said, "Bullshit!"
Just be satisfied with your team’s Steel Curtain. Don’t worry about Dallas….
