The way I learned music theory is 3 main things, youtubers, playing music, and composing music. The best youtubers I can recommend for learning music theory are Ryan Leach, Charles Cornell, and George Collier. I binge watched these guys all throughout highschool and now I make money through composing my freshmen year into college. Also trying to play music everyday helps a lot. Music is learned through doing the same thing over and over again lol. Just remember that everyone has their own style and own way of doing things. Honestly, I would rather you learn your style before you learn how to properly compose. I'm not saying dont study music theory at all, but mainly focus on finding your individual sound before getting too crazy wtih music theory and instrumentation. Hope this helps!
