The stark contrast between achara and jaby reacting to the bath scene was everything. Achara u surprised me with that reaction girl 😂love it. I agree witch achara i loved this movie . But would i watch it again? Definitely not. But i loved how stunningly its been shot, the feelings it made me feel . And the actors did an incredible job . Everything was perfect in this movie .
I remember a tiktok about how you can tell a lot about a person's character based on there reaction to the batch scene.
yeah it’s like a one and done type movie, it’s great but i don’t need to watch it again
Her laughter and glee while he was losing it was cracking me up 🤣🤣🤣
I like how the gross out moments are too much for Jaby and Achara is just cackling with glee!
It's funny how I expected it would be the other way around. Achara is so cheeky. 😂
Imagine how Jaby and Roxy could've reacted together if she worked for this channel lol.
This entire move was wtf went into expecting a love story and was like 👁️👄👁️
“ … unlike you, I actually know how to work.” And there it is. Oliver went to “work” in 2006 and put in several years until all claimants were dead and he retired with total control of the estate. This was a hell of a movie.
I still can't believe the 16-year gap/ jump. His waiting that long shocked me more than the twist itself. I'm kidding though both shocked me lol
Everyone is freaking out about the bathtub scene and the "I'm a vampire" scene but that breakfast/lunch scene after they find Felix's body is one of the craziest scenes I've ever seen.
Barry Keogahan started his “creepy” career with “The Killing of a Sacred Deer”.
Fun fact, the nerdy guy asking for a sum is ewan Mitchell, house of the dragon actor that plays aemond.
Effing ask me a sum then!?!
its kind of... obvious?!
how's that a fun fact?
@@clementine2820 cuz it seems like they didn’t even notice at all lol just me trolling
@@clementine2820 Because no reactor ever notices.
Can I say, the English people at that dinner table scene ARE expressing pain & anguish regarding Felix's death, (not only Farleigh). The parents' grief is just manifesting in shock, denial & displacement. Venetia (who is also English) conveyed her emotions in a way more "acceptable" to you; through tears & erratically over-pouring her wine glass.
Love Achara's reaction to THOSE scenes btw. Kinda refreshing.
"Leave him here. Don't take him back home." That's what the hell I said! You don't bring crazy home with you. This family died because of their good manners. First Felix, then his Dad. Paying someone to leave your house? Sheeyit!!! He's lucky he didn't get "planted" in the maze.
The first time in my life, I've looked away at a scene in a film. This time I've just closed my eyes (while I heard Jaby's reaction and Achara laughing lol).
Achara: "That's kinda hot" 😂😂😂😂 Love her so much
All of the shocking scenes were not just there to shock, despite what some people think. Each one had a purpose... it was an exercise in character development, a subtle reveal bit by bit of just how demented Oliver was.
- We started with the bath scene and that showed us that he's not as innocent as we think. Obsession to the point of acting out in a crazy way. But that can be chalked up as kinky/obsessive and the line stops there.
- Then the scene with Venetia in the garden, more kinky stuff but this time we see him becoming more bold and dominant, which is a new side of him we hadn't seen up until that point yet. When he ends up in Farleigh's room we get the sense that he's really up to something sinister, because he lied to Felix about what happened with Venetia, used that to sow discord between Felix and Farleigh and then ends up in bed with him. At this point we know he's manipulative and he has some kind of plan but we're not sure yet what.
- Then we find out he lied about his family and we now know he's messed up in the head. He's not just obsessed or kinky or a shit stirrer, now we know something's really wrong upstairs.
- Then Felix dies and we get to the grave scene.. here's where we learn how truly demented Oliver is. That's not normal behavior and there's nothing close to a rational explanation for it.
It's just really interesting how this is all presented, it's slowly unfolded bit by bit, peeling back the layers one at a time. I think it was brilliantly done in that regard, but it often gets overlooked because people focus on the shock factor of it all and can't look past that to see how well-made this movie actually is.
Because its not. Emerald made this movie and said it was a commentary about class disparity. but she cant even do that right bc shes a nepo baby. If anythings it glamourizes wealth disparity. It doesnt even get into olivers motivations and its such hot garbage to assume he was so genius. Dude clearly was planning as he was going with no forethought. This was a lazy written POS where the writer attempts to make us pity the sad poor rich people.
@@cyagami90 If you're saying this movies says rich ppl= stupid, poor people=crazy, just remember that Oliver is the only one that is depraved, his family wasn't. Remember that as weird as the rest of Felix's family is, with their weird 'white savior" behaviour, Felix & (probably Venetia) are the ones that sees through him (even though Felix only by accident). The father also towards the end might see that Oliver trying to mooch off of them even though him driving Oliver away simply because of selfishness, even though he doesn't know of Oliver's family secret.
15:16 Achara, you absolute queen 😭😭🙇🏻♀️✋🏽💀
6:20
good catch there by Achara: you don't disclose information that could potentially be used to leverage you, unless of course you bet on it coming back around so you make something up.... which effectively does come back around the wrong way when Felix DOES us that information against Ollie for totally the wrong reason.
my favorite thing about this movie is how the entire time, we were all fooled into thinking Ollie was the victim when in reality, he was the villain. that shy, reserved Ollie we saw at the beginning of the film was the mask. the real Ollie is who we saw manipulating and pulling the strings at Saltburn. I also believe that Ollie's original goal was to get Felix. he was obviously obsessed with him from the start. when he realized that Felix was off the table, his attention turned to Saltburn as a consolation prize. I loved this reaction! 😃
Jaby’s reaction with the bathtub scene and other the blood scene 😂🤣🤣
Yess, i was literally binging reactions to this movie when i got the notification.
Edit: Achara showed in this reaction that she's built different.
This show is the best to watch reaction channels. I've been on a serious binge 😂
@@killamonkey7767Same 😂
achara’s reaction to the bathtub scene was PERFECT 🤣 subscribed!!!
Barry Keoghan just 🔥🔥🔥
When Jaby said he is ready, we all knew that's not gonna be true for this reaction.
The director talked about how it is about obsession and love and in the end, the perfect ending for Oliver would have been to be together with Felix in Saltburn.
I wouldn't call that love. That's why I think it is so important to really listen to Oliver's words: "I loved him. But was I in love with him?" No, he wasn't. He was obsessed with him. Obsession is destructive, it's demanding, it consumes you. To love someone is to value someone. Oliver did not value anyone or anything but his own whims and he was not above manipulation or murder to achieve them, only feeling pity for himself and never for others. Textbook psychopath.
@@kitmonroebut also Oliver is a liar. You can’t believe everything he says.
@@sfinn13 He didn't need to answer the question. His actions told the truth. That was not love, but obsession.
@@kitmonroethe director is also the writer and she was going for both. Every moment shown that he said he hated Felix was when he felt rejected by him.
@@sfinn13 Personally I don't care if the writer said that's love. This is not love, no matter what she said. The writer of course knows her own intentions, what she wanted to communicate, but regardless - she's absolutely wrong if she claims this behavior to be love. To love is to value. Your most cherished values in life reflected in the person who brings you the greatest joy by simply existing. Destroying this person by manipulating them, lying to them, killing them... That is not love. Love and obsession should not be confused, it's a very dangerous idea. Because of this confusion real life people accept destructive behavior, thinking they are loved when in reality they are despised, every time when the person obsessed with them can't feed their obsession in a way to keep them from destroying the one they're obsessed with.
Love that you guys reacted to this 😂🤣👏👏. 🟥Red ⬜White and 🟦Royal Blue next please 🤞🤞. 💁♂️ Based on The Novel and 🧏♂️ Uma Thurman plays The President of the United Stated in it as well ( not about her tho).
I really think this movie deserved to be more appreciated and an oscars nominations
I did too, it definitely didn’t deserved to be panned like a lot of people did. Had style, great acting and kept your attention which is something most movies fail to do nowadays.
Disagree. If you've seen the modern classic _The Talented Mr Ripley_ (or the Brideshead Revisited series), Saltburn comes off as a pale imitation which doesn't know what it wants to say (other than inspire tiktok trends).
The salt in the fucking wound of it all is him taking their pebbles outta the water n displaying them. Just wow.
Fun fact: Barry Keoghan marked his script Oliver #1, Oliver #2, Oliver #3 and so on earmarking & representing the different psycho Oliver's needed. Genius. Some of the shots looks like paintings. Everybody thinks the maths genius is the crazy one at the beginning but it's Oliver that's the real psychopath! The trailer also misleads you and gives nothing away. The film is a masterpiece in lies, greed, envy, psychology, power, obsession, classism, revenge, deception & manipulation. This movie should win so many awards- especially for the cinematography, the soundtrack, wardrobe/costume design, the set design etc... but it won't because of how uncomfortable some of the scenes are.
This film is a masterpiece of acting, storytelling, and direction. But I dread to think of what people will think about me if I recommend it to them!
Well, fuck that people.
I wish y'all could put some respect on Farleigh's name, he's the only family member that lived lol he saw right through Oliver's bull and y'all couldn't lol
Because they watched it for the first time and they didn’t know.
But yes, Farleigh is angry and honest. Very angry at Oliver for ruining his reputation with a frame-up, murdering Felix, and for being a con artist.
He was then to his family for discriminating, blaming, misguiding, and being bloody and racist to him.
He was filled with real honesty for finding Oliver’s true nature among them. He was deeply honest about hating and loving his families. He deserved self love.
Racism and narcissism are tearing us apart and that’s why WE ALWAYS RESPECT HIM. Try being mindful next time.
This film was stunning. The writing, acting, cinematography were all extraordinary. It was made for film buffs.😂
This film is very similar to The Talented Mr. Ripley. You guys should definitely react to it.
What everyone was expecting from the Oscars was an acting nod to the mother. Her comedic timing was excellent! It also should have gotten costume design and cinematography. It wouldn’t have won either, but at least give it the nomination. It got several nominations at BAFTA, of course. Great reactions!!
I don’t know why people seem to think Venetia kissed Oliver after Felix died, he very clearly pushed his lips onto hers because he knew it’d be an easy way to break her down further. Like, it was SO obvious lmao
the grave and bathtub scene 💀
The Talented Mr. Ripley is what this reminded me of.
ACHARA!!!!! hahahahah that reaction just made me fall in love with you Lego man style 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha Achara, you little freak lol hilarious
She almost nailed the bathtub scene! Notice Oliver's entire demeanor changed after he took in EVERYTHING FELIX!
Farleigh saw through Oliver from the start.
The math nerd is the guy with an eyepatch on House of the Dragon 😊
Achara,I had the same theory when I saw this film. I think Oliver's intentions were more noble at first in wanting to get to know Felix and then living with his family, but then grew into something darker after Felix basically rejected him after finding out Oliver lied to him. Each member of his family except Elspeth eventually rejecting him just sent him further over the edge. I don't get why he killed Elspeth, though. She never tried to turn him away. Hell, she even invited him to back to the mansion, so I don't get that. Perhaps she said or did something to piss him off between then and when she gets sick? I don't know. And Jaby, I hope you watch more things that gross you out much more often. That was funny as hell lol. Also, I agree with you both that it's not the kind of movie to watch over and over again.
Love her reaction at the bathtub scene...😂😂😂
1:52 House of The Dragon fans, that actor also plays Aemon Targaryen aka Aemon One-Eye. 💫
100% agree the Best Actor Oscar should have gone to Barry no questions asked because of how uncomfortable he made the audience feel 🔥
Guys, when will you get to 'Red, White and Royal Blue' (2023)? 🧡
i've never seen jaby so violated lmao
20:56 the song name written in the captions
This is seriously one of my favourite movies juat love it.
17:43 His tone reminds me of Andrew Garfield asking Amelia Dimoldenberg, “When’s your birthday pahty?”
I just love how everyone in the beginning of the movie feels so sorry for Olly and as the movie goes on all the little pieces fall into place and in the end you finally realize what a Psycho he is
Achara's reaction to the bath scene was literally me like I've seen and read so much worse but I was screaming and laughing and screaming some more at the sounds as it kept going 😂
Jaby: yuck yuck
Archara: nods in British
never expected you guys would watch this movie. lolllllll
Barry will be a great joker
Barry Keoghan plays creepy characters perfectly. You guys need to see 'The Killing of a Sacred Deer'.
I watched this movie months ago and it's still with me
I’m with Achara that was kinda hot lol
As others have said, Achara's delight is killing me.
Ewan Mitchelle who plays Michael Gavey, also plays Aemond Targaryen. FYI xD
15:02 jaby, take note 😂
This whole movie is just like " call an ambulance, but not for me "
I have to say, I watched this movie three times, and the more I watched it the more I find. If you pay attention to Pamela‘s dialogue, her story is fucking tragic. Also knowing what Oliver is up to you see hints of it much much much earlier on.
Hilarious how Achara is trying to be uncritical and cool when... what's going on is just disgusting lol.
This film reminded me a lot of Barry Lyndon
14:30 Slurp slurp!
That inclusive quota you mentioned to be nominated for Oscars, is to be fulfilled in the Cast OR Crew. Oppenheimer had enough inclusiveness behind the scenes (crew) to be nominated, as I'm sure all the other films did too, including Saltburn.
Please watch _The Talented Mr Ripley_ starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, PSH, Cate Blanchett and Gwyneth Paltrow! _Saltburn_ is a poor superficial knockoff of this beautiful film by Anthony Minghella, which addresses theme of class and sexuality much more cleverly, especially since _Ripley_ is based on the novels by Patricia Highsmith, a lesbian writer who dealt with these issues of repression, self-hatred and masking one's true self in the 60s. Emerald Fennell has a great eye for aesthetics but it's all empty and the themes are confused, perhaps because she herself comes from wealth or os atleast adjacent to the British upper class - this is probably why the awards weren't so impressed by Saltburn. We've seen this type of film done before, but way, way better.
This!
Totally agree!! My first thought after watching this was that it’s a grosser, less interesting version of The Talented Mr. Ripley 😅
Andrew Scott’s Ripley on Netflix is based on that too and I kept thinking that this is what Saltburn wanted to be, while watching Andrew Scott’s performance…
I kinda had the same reaction as Jaby on the bathtub scene and loved Achara's reaction too when she said 'that was hot"😂, I enjoyed the movie a lot of crazy stuff happened in it, but I loved it and the actor Barry Keoghan he nailed it.
Oliver felt he was losing Felix's attention. Oliver's initial drastic move to win back Felix was the story about his father's death and his mother being so upset she was "incoherent ". I feel Felix has true empathy. It's been said he just liked to take an example poor person under his wing for a "toy", but I don't feel that way about it.
"Anything before pandemic is period" killed me.
Hey guys, big fan of the channel...im so glad u Achara liked it and loved this film like i did..Achara has the same idea as me..the gross horrible scenes are needed for us to believe that he could do what he does at the end, some people just focus on the grossnes but i think thats just childish..I think to believe he can go from this shy poor guy to this complete Psycopath...Rosamund Pike was great, Jacob should be Clark Kent but Barry Keoghan (one of my fellow Irish Men) is just phenomenal..He plays intense creepy manipulator like nobody...I also agree he first wanted to be in Felix's world and then he shifted to this utter evil mastermind...Plus the cinematography, production, music is just incredible and yes disgusting..This should be an Oscar Nomination, maybe sexual gross scenes were too much for American audiences. I agree Jaby i loved Cillian in Oppenheimer but Barry was a tour de Force in Saltburn...
Now this is how you play the long game.
Bias towards wealthy people can be really concerning. I often see people dehumanize them to the point where it feels violent. This film does a great job of highlighting that without pulling any punches with the rich
Achara is OFFICIALLY MY FAVORITE PERSON EVER!!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I second that 👏👏🤣😂
I wouldn't watch it again, but I would watch someone else watching it again. :)
Bathtub 🛁😰💀
Oh lorde 😭 i was waiting for it ngl
Didn't expect a reaction tbh 😭
omg lorde ya ya ya
Do Society of the Snow! Super moving. Spectacular filmmaking and acting.
The reactions to the movie are way better than the movie itself lol 😅
hahah I AGREE! I never plan to actually watch this movie but I love seeing my fav reactors see it for the first time 🤣
@DezeraeJordan it was so stupid but I do agree Rosamund Pike was amazing despite the basic plot. I mean it was predictable, the shock factor got people talking.
lmao jaby i had the same reaction and even had a gag reflex at that bathtub scene
Let me put it this way: Achara is definitely not an outlier when it comes to women in particular responding to this movie.
Dear Achara, I'm afraid of you. lmao
I absolutely loved this movie. I had no idea what it was going in. Its ART. The cinematography should’ve been recognized w awards. Amazing movie! Achara, you just keep getting sexier to me. 😈😈🤣🤣
I just love both of you reaction hilarious before and after the movie. 😅🤣😂
The film is one of a kind and we should name a new Genre. However, I hate the tone of that movie which makes me helpless. It impacts my comfort zone expecially the final scene with Rosamund Pike)
She's like me with this film I watched it today with a friend and I found myself saying "that's hot af" quite a bit
jacob elordi’s real accent sounds so foreign to me in this movie😭
I could have sworn you guys reacted to this.
Anyway. The cinematography is spectacular. Thats the best thing I can say about the movie. Of course it's shockingly gross in several scenes. Absurd sometimes.
Barry koegan always does an amazing job and Rose___i can't remember how to spell her name. She is fantastic. Her humor was perfect. She played the perfect rich, nonchalant outta touch wife/mother.
Rosamund Pike, from Wheel of Time lately
the slurping scene is totally wild
Iron Claw sometime in the near future please 🙏🙏😁😁
When they were talking about Shelley at the breakfast table and the man who looked like him, a guy in a pink shirt just like Felix's shirt walks past the window in the background. I think that was an intentional hint because of what happened to Felix later.
Barry is already the best Joker.
I love seeing reactors getting traumatized. It’s almost like my new kink 🤣🤣🤣 Anyways, we need more psychos in Hollywood. This was disgustingly brilliant movie
We loved this movie but found some scenes gratuitously offensive. Not that we're easily offended - far from it! - but...well put it this way, I told my mum she probably wouldn't enjoy it. 😂
That aside, the cast and writing were brilliant, it was visually stunning, and the twist was savage.
Jabys reaction it's as if he is in the scene himself but i felt the same.😂😂
I watched this with a friend and my joke was that this guy was playing them so he could live happily ever after with their bathtub. Not trying to brag, but I totally called it.
Jaby swearing game
Personally I don’t think Oliver planned shit. He’s not a genius tactician, he’s giving a juicy final story to her before he offs her probably because he genuinely thinks she’d appreciate it.
He’s constant liar that you can only really judge his clear actions.
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Cha cha dope 👕
I disagree with the rewatchability cause even though uncomfortable and vomiting inducing at times, i have seen 3 times just because i wanted friends to to experience it..not for the gross but for Barrys performance and the incredible twists, script is so damn good...I get if u dont, there are films i loved 'Requiem for a Dream'(should be shown to kids if they take drugs and they will stop) The Lighthouse, The Fountain and others that i would never watch again but i still thought they were brilliant...😊
I could rewatch The Fountain 😊
We agree Achara, IT'S HOT !
Finally !! I really thought you guys were gonna skip this film
