    I used to clean a school and in the bathrooms after I removed all stains and build-up, I used automotive car wax on all surfaces. It made them resistant to calcium build-up in the future, aslo it was easier to wipe down.

      I went back to the school 15 years later and the sinks, toilets (except the seats) and all porcelain still felt "slick" to the touch. The wax stands up well over time. I enjoy you're vids.

    Wow, that's some great advice. I have stainless steel sinks and we had this white stuff that wouldn't come off with even lots of elbow grease. Luckily vinegar soaking did the trick! Our water is so hard you could break something if you sat in a tub of it. Not really but you get the picture how hard some water can be in some places. Due to health concerns about using potassium or sodium to soften our water, we can't use those methods, so we suffer with the hard water. Thanks again for this advice!

      I live in a place that has really hard water too. Buildup takes hardly any time. So I've learned to completely avoid the mess that envolves too much scrubbing. I just wipe the faucet with towel very quickly after each use of faucet..got to keep it dry of that Hard water. Once in a while, I'll spray it with vinegar (from my own Boughton spray bottle), leave it on faucet few minutes, then polish it up. Believe me, faucet keeps looking new.

    My wife has been cleaning homes for over 30 years and this is something that she has always done, the two things that is different between what is on the video and how my wife does it, is that she ,first, with a brush, brushes with vinegar, everything, gives it a good brushing with vinegar and uses, good paper towels soaked in vinegar and presses this towel, tightly around the faucet, she leaves it alone and let the vinegar do it's job. Comes out like new, each and every time.

      @@TheCleanLoft: This is good effective information and it works well but you might mention there are other acids that are somewhat quicker than acetic acid (vinegar), although sometimes 10x as expensive. Many hard water removal products are available that use lactic acid (from milk) and gluconic acid (from honey and fruits), especially for those who don’t like the smell of vinegar as a cleaning agent (me). The best known in North America is the brand name CLR. In any case the best solution in the end is to install a water softener and eliminate the issue altogether! Good channel, carry on!…we all hate grungy kitchens, lol.

      I recommend a more simple process. If Colgate toothpaste is available in your country. Apply a fair amount, touch up all over & leave it for 1/2 hr. Then brush it off with a kitchen scrubber & water. I left it overnight & cleaned it. SPARKLES as new.

    Thank you very much for this, trying this out soon and whilethe calcium/hard water buildup is several years worth, used to think only scraping with a spatula wouldget the buildup off, Wrong.......liked and greetings to you from Mexico!:)

    • @TheCleanLoft
      @TheCleanLoft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Joe, thanks for stopping by here. Yes give this method a try and you won't need to use too much elbow grease or strength when cleaning because the vinegar will soften the calcium build up. It's much easier to clean after that.
