This has been our home for 45+ years and I don’t believe an event like this has ever occurred.It was in March, we still had snow on the ground and water coming from up North caused the river to flood, resulting in the massive breakup.
A lot of big trees were stripped of their bark and died. We had a wooden foot bridge maybe 100 yards long and the ice destroyed it. When all the ice snow was gone you could see where ice dug into the ground. A lot of tree limbs were torn off.
Missy believe it or not but our house didn’t get any damage. I have a “Part 3” video that shows the aftermath. It’s been 4 years now and It still is very surreal to me.

If the only damage you had was some decking, count yourself lucky. I live in WI and have seen ice shoves take out houses.
