Yeah I got rear locker and never looked back, the rig never fails and I live in the Wild West coast of Tasmania. If I’m in 4wd I have that rear locker on and blitz every obstacle in my way, Rear diff locker is a must on a jimny.
@@BillyGoatJim you are spot on, and Suzuki are head of the pack for denying claims on new vehicles. The used my window tint as a reason to deny a low range warranty claim.
Hello, I was just wondering, if you have only the rear diffs locked, would you have to turn off the traction control system? What would happen if one of the front wheels had no grip, but both rear and the other front had grip?
Gday, I tried with just the rear diff locked and both diffs locked... if the rear is engaged and one of the fronts loose traction, that has no bearing on the rear wheels they will both continue to rotate at the same rate. Sorry hard to explain but I hope that answers your question

Hi Salvador, I believe the brake-lsd is a feature that automatically engages the moment two diagonal wheels break traction, and so should be working in the “no locker” attempt In this situation three wheels had traction anyway which would not engage the lsd. Please let me know if this isn’t accurate. Cheers
@@BillyGoatJim i think not Brake lsd uses the abs sensors to ser wich wheels spin at different wheels, not only in diagonal, and it brakes the wheel spinning to send the power to the other one, it works per axles, so front doesn't know what rear do and in reverse You can see pretty good examples of the system working, youtuber "jimnyastics" got some good vídeos about it, or the last vídeo of jimny vs tuned niva from "diariomotor"
@@BillyGoatJim or even better, go out there with your camera, and rec some vids of it, just remember, 4low, 1st gear, free diffs & constant pressure on the gas pedal (very important this one), this system is new for suzuki, and is pretty much like That one installed in the LR discoverys series 2, so works suddenly and not as smooth as we"ll like but can do unexpected thing, and shut more than one mouth of those who call it "toy car" with all that

But now that i know wich spare parts and your video, i can try to contac with the distribuitor on my country for the adquisition [after i save some money :)].
Is the traction control intentionally disabled, once you engage the lockers, as far as know it can't happen, since the lockers are aftermarket and not integrated with engine controllers....for example in pajero if the rear differential lock is engaged TC is disabled on all 4 wheels, but this because the system is intentionally designed this way.

i will get up without a locker in the same situation and line in my jimny . He is not leting the tracktion controle work . ..Stay longer on the gas . it will be doing it ;) an i am sure they know it
The point is using a locker is instant, you don’t need delays or higher revs or run ups all which have serious potential to damage something on the car. Diff locks are for anyone looking to spare the car from abuse on the tracks.

The difference is clear... you’re spot on, just on $3k supplied and installed plus the air compressor which is a few hundred as well
Do you lose the warranty when installing air locker?
I think you do, however in my experience with new cars the dealer has always found a reason not to honour warranty anyway.

if you have TCS on and lockers the TCS will be useless because for all effects, theres no slippage betwheen wheels

The lockers are an ARB Airlocker. The part numbers are - FR22SPL & 26SPL

The (all grip) system should have kicked in and would have climbed that easy
No debate the all grip is a bonus but lockers are on a completely different level.
No delays with lockers.
What Tires and Wheels,specs???
They’re 235x75-r15 ko2 tyres. And they wheels are 15x7 with 0mm offset.

Lockers on a Jimny are a totally unnecessary downgrade.
I would suggest NOT buying ARB . I have had nothing but bad problems with this aftermarket garbage.
