They sure are aging well! I just realized they are still making music. AND it’s FRESH! Good for them. Do you know what took them up to the North Country? I am so curious! Not a big music Mecca unless I missed something. I found out about them from a youngster who is one of the kids all getting into the 80s now. So great that is happening. Cheers to you! From Lancaster PA
Best version of this song I've ever heard. The guitars are dreamier, more ethereal and richly sublime if ever that was possible. Maybe due to that awesome chorus effect. The drums are as tight as ever and the bass recalls it's awesome punchiness. How wonderful to have found them again. Life is so much better when listening to this band. Long may they reign.
I remember driving in my light green 1980 Honda Accord and driving endlessly...listening to the Ocean Blue ♥️ My nephew was named Ocean Blue by accident. I had to tell my ex sister in law that it was a name of of my favorite bands🤭
Great memories Jennifer! Back in the day, I would fill the tank of my red VW GTI, and drive all day endlessly on some hilly, twisting back roads listening to the likes of The Ocean Blue, The Church, Depeche Mode, The Smiths,Midnight Oil, The October Project, Rush, Marillion, etc. .... so many great, incredible bands! I took the back seats out so I could fit 2 huge floorstanding home stereo speakers in the hatchback area, so my 4 seater vehicle was transformed into a 2 seater, for the love of music!
@@AudiophileTubes Oh my goodness! You probably could have picked me up for a ride in your GTI! I could have brought some other music I loved. Smiths...The The,Pixies...too many to name. Thankful people still have good taste in music!
@@jenniferrubbelke Nice reply Jennifer, thank you! Undoubtedly, we would have hung out and gone to some great shows! I have so many great memories making cool new friends who appreciated great music and fun times. The world was a much less complicated place back then, I suppose. As to your comment on music, i'm 'pushing 60' now, and I will always listen to and appreciate great music/bands! Music is so meaningful to so many, and actually helps see us through good times and bad! I'm even exposing my high schooler to some of the great pop/rock of yesteryear, and she likes a lot of it! Lastly, one of the servers at our local Applebee's is named Ocean! Cheers!
@@AudiophileTubes Thank you for the great reply. Because I’m only 46 it might be odd that some great music...and not personally talented in music would be odd that I know some musicians and artists. I wasn’t brought up on music or art. However, I gravitate towards it. Embracing it is the best. I have three boys. 25,22 and 13. A great day was when my middle son came home from hanging out with friends. He said to me “Thank you mom for always playing your music. I went to my friends house and they were playing a cover song of something you use to play. I knew all the words and my friends asked me how I knew the song.”
@@AudiophileTubes Last show I saw (with my favorite music buddy)was Valerie June...love her♥️. Bought two shirts and lost one somewhere on the light rail back to Saint Paul:( Always horrible to loose a concert T...
One of my favorite bands, in a list that spans many subgenres of guitar-driven rock. A true diamond in the rough, especially in the realm of alt/indie bands (and certainly of bands originally from my native central PA).
Saw The Ocean Blue perform ~ 1994/1995 at an old club underneath the I-5 in Seattle. Fantastic show. One of my favorite bands from the late 80s / early 90s. Nice to know they're still performing.
I saw you guys Nov. 2019 at DNA Lounge SF I was few feet from front stage and you guys are much better live than youtube. Saw Peter Hook a week before and Morrissey a month before.
WOW !! So cool to see such talent and originality, I have most of your classic albums on Tape Cassette , still in very good condition 👍🏻 In my mid to late teens I wore your albums out 😆😆 I was 15 years old when I discovered your music in 1989 and still love your music and sound today AWESOME 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 GREAT to see you guys continue to play 😊😊
I first heard you guys on 97X. Really like your version of "Drifting, Falling" here. I was an English major at a half way ok school, and dude, your lyrics are poetry, some of the best ever in music. "Between Something and Nothing" blows me away every time I hear it. Thank you!
So upset that I missed you guys in Dallas. I would have traveled to Houston or Austin, but every show was sold out, which is awesome. I hope you come back to Texas.
One of my favorite bands when I was in high school. I saw them live 🤗. Such a fun concert. I still have a sticker of their album cover in my memory box 📦 💕.
Not to draw attention away from The Ocean Blue. I love these guys' music ever since I heard them the first time. Check out a band called Riverside, their album One (1992). It even came out on the same label that The Ocean Blue was on at the time. Which was Sire. Thanks for posting the video and for the The Ocean Blue performing.
Great band. One of my favs forever!!! This new album is beautiful. And wow Sublime sounded so sweet. Also that’s cool they said some bands they dig. More music = happy. Choir Boy is really good! Actually their opening band for their tour/record launch in Lancaster The Blurrys, they had said they really loved too hence letting them open. Wink ;-)
Also one of my favorite bands of all time, so happy they are still making fantastic music. Saw them at Jammin Java last year, took my teenage son, had a blast. Now my teenage son loves them too. What’s amazing to me is that their newer material is just as great as their first several records. Kings and Queens ... and also Ultramarine are enjoyed just as much as their first album and Cerulean. Hope they continue to enjoy making music, because they’ve got lifelong fans in my household.
My fav band also and had the opportunity to meet them last year in Peru. Signed my cds and a T-Shirt that was so nice from them. So really cool people and great musicians... Thanks again guys!! Will see you next year in the US.!
A band (now broken up) that had some influences from The Ocean Blue, and is also from Pennsylvania, is Farewell Flight. Look up their songs Indianapolis, Slow, The Ocean Black, and Out For Blood for starters.
The best band born in the USA for sure! Their music is timeless, so clean and pure, like a crystal blue ocean.
“Chrystal Blue persuasion”....
I agree 👍👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️ love and respect from Philippines...
Like a crystal "ocean blue"? 😅
So true
Whata bout THE EAGLES??
Oh, The Ocean Blue is the soundtrack of my life since those great early 90s days in the amazing Mexico City.
My favorite band...this music is timeless.

I saw these lads when I was lad too!
These boys age well. Their music remains so distinct, emotional, and enveloping today.
This is Real music this is Real New wave brother.
They're so tasteful and understated.
Beautiful, my all time faves. Soundtrack of my youth, now in my 50s.
So so so so so blime! Indeed they are!
Shout out from the Philippines!
Saw them in Hershey PA when I was a teenager. Best local band

Saw this awesome band in a small venue in Chico, CA on a Tuesday in the late 80s with Mighty Lemon Drops. Amazing
Alternative Club in Guam "Slave" played your songs back in 1991. Longtime fan 2020

I know I'm a year behind this post but I am stoked - so cool to see them now!!!
One of my fav bands didnt know they were in ny
this is gorgeous...
5:58 I now listen to Choir Boy because of hearing this comment a few months ago. I love his dreamy, minimalist synths.
Great band. I always thought they were influenced by British 80s jangle bands like Pale Fountains, The Close Lobsters and the Aussies The Go Betweens.
Omg. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Hello from Dallas (originally from Monterrey, NL, Mexico)
