I had a brother (Tommy), and when HEART became FAMOUS, he told me that he would go to The Aquarius Tavern, and watch HEART. And the piece that was THE HIGHLIGHT of their set was THE BATTLE OF EVERMORE! So, when I found it on The Lovemongers CD, I bought it!! IT IS PHENOMENAL!!!
They played with Alice in Chains. I think they played Brother w/ Alice in Chains encore The night was a Red Cross fund raiser for the First Gulf War. After the conflict was over. The Lovemongers are Ann and Nancy with Sue Ennis, Ben Smith and Frank Cox. Sue Ennis was a long time collaborator with Heart. This show was downtown at the Moore theater. A few month later at the Gorge at George the Lovemongers played with Queensrique at a Light Hawk fund raiser for helping to stop clear cutting logging. In-addition, during the Clinton-Gore years Heart and Neil young performed during the Kyoto Protocol era.
Props to the original, I love Led Zep, no one like them. BUT: I've seen Heart in concert many times, and no one can even attempt LZ the way they do. Most LZ songs are very difficult guitar combined with somewhat discordant melody, extensive length and, frankly, the cojones to do it justice. Heart has that in spades.

@Tooligan cool insight. First time of someone adressong the fact those acts played a song that night. A small clip on YT showed them playing. There were two other times when the Wilson sisters played with AIC live. No audio, video evidence. Only photo.
@@Papatorrejano Yes. My understanding is the Wilson Family knew the Staley's family ( Layne) (Age difference between the sisters and Layne) For sure the sisters played music and knew Layne and other AIC members before AIC release of Facelift. I still have a bootleg recording on CD format that pre-dates the Lovemongers, AIC show at the Moore Theater. Soundboard recording dated 1989 recorded in Vancouver BC, both bands preformed an acoustic set of Heart music with Zeppelin song encore of Black Dog and Rock and Roll. I worked as a freelance photographer based in Seattle '74 - '03
I really like their version of the Battle of Evermore. I saw them do this live in Louisville last year and uploaded that version. Spine tingling for sure. For some reason it was flagged for copyright violation and blocked in the US.
"The Battle Of Evermore" - LYRICS: The Queen of Light took her bow, And then she turned to go, The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom, And walked the night alone. Oh, dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light. The dark Lord rides in force tonight, And time will tell us all. Oh, throw down your plow and hoe, Rest not to lock your homes. Side by side we wait the might Of the darkest of them all. I hear the horses' thunder down in the valley below, I'm waiting for the angels of Avalon, waiting for the eastern glow. The apples of the valley hold the seeds of happiness, The ground is rich from tender care, Repay, do not forget, no, no. Dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light. The apples turn to brown and black, The tyrant's face is red. Oh war is the common cry, Pick up your swords and fly. The sky is filled with good and bad That mortals never know. Oh, well, the night is long, the beads of time pass slow, Tired eyes on the sunrise, waiting for the eastern glow. The pain of war cannot exceed the woe of aftermath, The drums will shake the castle wall, The ring wraiths ride in black, ride on. Sing as you raise your bow, Shoot straighter than before. No comfort has the fire at night That lights the face so cold. Oh dance in the dark of night, Sing to the morning light. The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back. Bring it back. At last the sun is shining, The clouds of blue roll by, With flames from the dragon of darkness, The sunlight blinds his eyes.
Uh...this wasn't performed at the premier of "Singles." This was at "Rock for the Environment" at the Gorge with Queensryche headlining. It was the first major rock festival ever held at the Gorge! :-)
Actually Bob Dylan with Tracy Chapman was the first at the Gorge. No water, everyone had to drink wine as the promoter was a winery. Everyone was barfing in the heat.
No one can cover this song like them. That was incredible.
They do such excellent covers! ❤❤❤ Is 2024 who's listening?
Damn! They f-ing knocked it outta the ballpark here.....

That's not heart
@@OLE-TEXit’s their side project, tho
Nancy honoring the lines Sandy Denny sung on the original version.
That was epic
Not just honoring them, really raising the bar. Great performance.
Great harmonies.
I WAS THERE
Im jealous sincerely
@Tooligan If so which band they played with that same show? And which song?

I like this equally as the original. Heart is killer.
1992.. Great Times..!
Always play this....they do this song beautifully ❤️
I feel like I've gone to heaven.
Love this version of this song! It beats anything else.
Tremendous performance, incredible
Best Cover of the Greatest Cover Band of All time wow.
One of my Top Ten forever. They must have rehearsed a ton it is so melodic and rocking too.
Was in love with Nancy since Dreamboat Annie album.

One of my favorites ❤
Love these two ladies still. 💖💖💖
Thanks for posting - loved this since Singles.
Holy chit.
Such voices!

@@tezdav54 You're welcome. 🤗
I love these women! :)
This is the first time I have seen Ann play guitar 🎸
Ann is an accomplished guitarist. Both sisters have been playing since they were children.
She has clean and sober since about 2009. I like this song.
Nice zeppelin cover!!!❤❤❤
AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant,nuf zed
Bring it back. In other words, bring back the balance. Never knew when this song came out that it was talking about destroying Sauron's magic ring.
nice!
Better live version than LZ's live version
Wow!
Singles 🥰
Brilliant
OOOh YEAH!!!
cool les filles !
@alexmonger11 : you could have fooled me. I`ve seen Sue Ennis before and didn`t recognize her in this...
i see 4 hatemongers dialed in.
gee maybe because it is!!!
@alexmonger11, it's 1992. Ann probably only smokes on the holidays now.;-P
🧡🔥

I thought that was right because I remember them saying it was the first time preforming this song on stage was at rocken for the environment
@@1fraidycat We’re both right. Dylan/Chapman was the first concert. Rock for the Environment was the first festival.
❤ 🍻
Hell no darclyte! I happen to agree with your opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy Page agreed. They do an amazing job recreating this song.
Probably the only Zeppelin cover worthy of Zeppelin.
Heart is fucking awesome!!! 🧐
Is there drums in this song
Was this from when they played at the Gorge for the "Rock and the Environment Benefit?"
This was from MTV's Singles Premier Special in 1992. This came from MTV.
Anne and Nancy doing Zeppelin. What more needs to be said?
👍 👍
Arite!!!
i thought they was still heart in 92 ?
Who is Led Zeppelin!!!
As good if not better than the original. Ann and Nancy seem to be the only ones able to give Led Zeppelin a run for their money.
@PsychLion
The original singer was the one and only Robert Plant. This is an original written and performed by Zeppelin. lmao
Mic drop
Sounds like Ann and Nancy....Maybe It's just me....
It's Ann and Nancy
+Christina A you commented on something 7 years old (?) I mean ...
@@Elhastezy888 I just liked this version the best.
+Christina Algate :-p me too
Geez, who`s the Flock of Seagulls hairdo guy standing next to Nancy??
Nancy and Ann better than Robert and John
