Nice to have an experienced cook using the 360! I’d love to see an overall tutorial for the 360 including setup for smoking, vents etc. thanks for the great video can’t wait to see more from your channel.
I loved the technique of using the bun warmer instead of two zone indirect heat to bring the steaks to temp. Personally I didn't like the Soy and Worcestershire sauce but I'll change that next time.
501 BBQ like the new name buddy. Question. Can u do a video of the PK if it’s possible to smoke something on it? I’d like to try to smoke a brisket or chicken or ribs or even a pork butt. If it’s possible. Thanks
@@501BBQ I live in LR, participated in the cookout last year and placed very low (1st time) but we had a blast. Didn't know what to expect. This year out goal is to win the party!
+Bowers Backyard BBQ not bad at all. You unscrew the piece that keeps the grill attached to the stand and then you set your grill in and the base will kinda fit wherever.
@@501BBQvery accurate because those final moments before box turn in that little dabble of butter can wash a lot away. Just judged my first a couple weeks again and another coming in a week 👍🏼 great steaks 🥩
+Mista Benton I got in off Amazon. It is a victorinox 6 inch flexible curved boning knife. My favorite all around knife. Have lots of them! Thanks for watching!
In a contest I want it heavy on the salt. After judges try lots of entry’s they start tasting the same then give them one with more salt and they notice it. I do not do that much just cooking at home! Thanks for watching
@@501BBQ I see! Thanks! Great vid. Cross-shopping the PK360 with other grills right now. That's how I landed here. Stayed for the whole thing, though! :)
+B Detweiler I only do it in competitions to make sure the heat stays up the whole time. I’ll cook one steak and then the other, not at the same time. So making sure temp doesn’t drop. Appreciate you watching!
Awesome video, super informative! I’m entering my first SCA comp in June and this helped! Thanks for the video. Have a great weekend!! 🍻🍻
That’s awesome! Have fun and good luck!!
Wow! Great video! Awesome looking steaks! 🍴
James Albergo thank you!!!
501 BBQ - What do you think of that PK ? I am thinking about getting one.
Trying to decide on a few different grills...
Really like the PK. I have a 360 and a classic that I cook on a lot. My classic is on the go stand and that’s what I haul around with me

Matt Jones thanks for watching. I will definitely try to do a setup for smoking with it on how I set it up!

It works great! Appreciate u watching
Looks awesome!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Well planned out
+Jason’s Adventures appreciate it! Thanks for watching!!!
Looks amazing
Thank you!!!

Appreciate it got tired of juggling both names haha. It’s definitely on the list to do a smoking video on the pk!
Those look fantastic......only thing I would add is a little butter 😎
Thank you! Yea I normally add some butter
just subbed, what a fantastic tutorial
Thank you very much! Hope it can help you out. Thanks for the sub and watching!!!
Good looking steaks! Good luck in your SCA adventures...
+Fullbore BBQ I appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Awesome grill & video, thanks! 👍👌🏻😋
It is a awesome Grill!!! Thanks for watching!
Hope to see you at the PK cookout this year!
+Joe Rodgers we will be there! Close to home!!!

@@JosephRodgers They are definitely fun! Good luck this year and hopefully ill meet ya there! we live right outside conway
@@501BBQ hell yeah! I'll try to remember to track you down. Just followed your IG too.
Joe Rodgers thank you!
Nice presentation
Thanks for watching
Fun to watch good video, love the PK
Thank you! It’s a beast
Making me hungry! Looks great.
+Scott Ellis thanks! Appreciate you watching
I assume you can use lump charcoal on pk too?
You definitely can!
Man you handle those ribeye steaks like they were donor kidneys, lol! Great video, thanks!
Haha gotta treat them right! thanks for watching!
Donor kidneys! Now that is funny! 🤣
Dude you don’t want to poke them holes in the kidneys. They will start leaking.
Why would you rotate them in the same spot on the grates. Always put them in a fresh spot on the grill grates for better sear marks
Grates were still clean and that’s where my correct heat was. I think the marks turned out great!
Royal Oak was always my go to … until I met B&B. Have y’all done or considering doing a “Best of Briquettes” test cook?
We haven’t. Maybe we can one day
@@501BBQ …. Right on. My PK is set to arrive Friday. I fully expect it to be a great addition to the Team. Roll Smoke 💨 🔥
They are awesome! Love mine.
@@501BBQ ….. Did you run a break-in fire or is it good to go out the box?
I ran a hot fire for a hour or so before I cooked on it
Nice video. What kind of spatula or lifter is that - the one you turn the steaks with? From Amazon?
Appreciate it! That is the spatula that comes with the Grillgrates. Thanks for watching
Question…. what are internal temps for done and well done etc? Thank you
www.omahasteaks.com/blog/steak-doneness-guide/
This is a good guide
@@501BBQ that was quick….thank you
You’re welcome!
Awesome!
Appreciate you watching!
No butter before resting?
Nope I don’t. Just during the cook
@@501BBQ When did you put on the butter?
Maybe I didn’t in this? I’d have to rewatch! I rarely use butter regardless
Where did you get your meat piercer
+Michael Walker got it at Dollar General
Is it a hair pick
+Michael Walker yep that’s all it is!
Kool thx much
No problem. Thanks for watching!
Trimming off the FLAVOR
Not winning a contest if your not trimming the fat/gristle off the edges. Now at home I don’t trim it.
Like’a momma’s love! Good stuff BR!
Skylar Kirkland haha thanks! Kelsey was like why did you say that!
Smokin With The Robinsons that’s T-Shirt material.
Skylar Kirkland for sure!
How hard is it to transport the 360 to comps? I have a 4 Runner so I would need to break it down and set up solo.
+Bowers Backyard BBQ not bad at all. You unscrew the piece that keeps the grill attached to the stand and then you set your grill in and the base will kinda fit wherever.
It is the go to grill for most people at SCA
That’s right. Pk is well represented at cookoffs
Where do you get the rack to finish them on??
I got it from ace hardware. But it’s called a little more rack made by PK
Thats waaaay to many things to do, straight from the package on to the grill is how I does it! Lol
I can totally relate to the "Kid baning on the door, we better go check on him" while filming.
+The Carnesseur haha yep almost every time!
That’s a ton of seasoning.
Gotta pack as much balanced flavor into one small bite in a contest hints more seasoning than normal.
@@501BBQvery accurate because those final moments before box turn in that little dabble of butter can wash a lot away. Just judged my first a couple weeks again and another coming in a week 👍🏼 great steaks 🥩
so how many minutes per side?
I think these were about 2 minutes per side
Hey where did you get the curve knife from. great looking steak
+Mista Benton I got in off Amazon. It is a victorinox 6 inch flexible curved boning knife. My favorite all around knife. Have lots of them! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the information
anyone have a link to that knife he is using please?

Here it is
Is that cast iron grates over the existing pk steel grates
They are cast aluminum. Www.grillgrates.com check them out. They are awesome!
I know the judges are looking for medium but it looks pink and juicy enough for rare. I personally prefer rare. Looks delicious though.
I may have undercooked a little haha
That might have been the worst, least confident Worcestershire I've ever heard! Thanks for the laugh
The struggle is real! Thanks for watching
Thats it, im hungry 😆
Happens to me as well!!!
Good Stuff!
Jared Permenter thank you!!!
Dang that's a bunch of seasoning... no one complains that it's too salty? That's the problem I run into with seasonings that contain salt...

@@501BBQ I see! Thanks! Great vid. Cross-shopping the PK360 with other grills right now. That's how I landed here. Stayed for the whole thing, though! :)
Appreciate it! Definitely can’t go wrong with the 360
That brand of fajita seasoning has meat tenderizer which you shouldn't need if you are using a good steak and the after taste is gross.
Thanks for the comment and watching!
I call it where's your sister sauce! Easier to say lol
Lol haven’t heard that before! Funny stuff
All I can hear is Eddy Griswald.
Awesome video but it seems like a ton of coal for 2 steaks.
