I don't think there is a single run where that deathrite bird has failed to kill me more times than Niall. It is so comically hard compared to everything surrounding it imo. Still, fun boss and fun weapon!
I picked this weapon up for my latest INT character, together with the Helphen's Steeple (not even knowing they both scale with INT initially) thinking it'll just be a cool duo to have thematically. Holy crap, I did not expect the AOW to be that strong.
I was thinking of doing a phantom weapon run with this thing and the clean rot knight spear, I hadn't finished researching it yet but it's nice to see this weapon get attention
@@DoomWolfOfficialyeah you gotta farm for it from the clean rot knights, I got lucky in the swamp of aeonia and found it by pure luck. Pretty much every other weapon that I planned for the challenge run has a dedicated location, Death ritual spear, Rosus axe, Ijis Frozen needle, Carian knights sword, Coded sword, and the godly Bolt of Gransax. There's also 3 ashes of war that apply with Carian great sword, Phantom slash, and Spectral lance. You should give it a try it's looking to be a pretty fun run
Nice to see this weapon art finally in action. Back when I did my Rain Only playthrough I didn't include this weapon since I literally wasn't even aware it existed. Kind of ironic that it turns out to be one of the most effective rain attacks apparently.
I remember watching your Rain only video and thinking those sorceries didn't do hardly anything, you could have absolutely trivialized anything with this, probably even in a NG+ cycle haha
I don’t know if you take video ideas, but have you tried doing a “weapon-construct” run? Only using summoned weapons like Loretta’s Greatbow, Carian Slicer, Gavel of Haima, etc? I tried it, and oh boy the damage potential is insane
People always use physical damage because they're scared of fighting Rennala with pure magic damage sub RL50. That way she becomes tough as nails, and we have to learn to evade her spells properly instead of rushing her down mindlessly.
I incorporated this spear into my pvp build when the colosseum first came out, it’s such a fun weapon that I’ve never seen anyone else use. Glad to see it getting some appreciation!

Doom, some DS3 challenge runs would be awesome!!! I recently finished it for the first time, with both dlc's included, and I was blown away by how good it was. I was genuinely sad when I finished. Nice to see a run where you don't suffer at all

been using this weapon since before it got buffed repeatedly. extremely fun PVP weapon that nobody knows how to react to. either rain spears on the opponent or lock off to have them rain arround you as a "get off me" button
wait the spears rain straight on top of you when not locked on? for it me it always rained them at a set (probably max) distance away, which is what I did for Rykard and the like haha

I actually use this Ash of War for an oddly specific purpose. I use it to simulate Morgott's Sword Rain attack for my Morgott cosplay build because literally nothing short of arrow rain is even remotely functionally or visually similar.
spearcall ritual doesnt hit for every spear because of the weird way its tick damage functions; the entire ash essentially has a small timer between when it can hit again, and each spear is tied to that timer. this actually got buffed around 1.07, the ash used to be slightly worse before that point. (this is why it averages about 6 hits regardless of how many extra spears hit the enemy)

Somehow i like seeing you slap around bosses as if swatting a fly away ALMOST as much as i like seeing you torment yourself with overly big and slow bows/crossbows
I don't think you need altus for Radahn, I actually just met blaidd and meet Ranni and that was how I activated Radahn (or I might have just used the teleport on the bridge before redmane and that's it
Yeah, progressing Ranni's quest all the way to the festival is the other way to start it, the teleporter isn't active until after the festival starts though

Tbh I liked Seluvis as a character just since I find pricks a nice change of pace in NPC variety in Elden Ring just since a lot of them tend to be very friendly with the player character by default.

Endure on the poison claw/pincers weapon is just weirdly strong. Pretty sure you can just face tank a few bosses with it if you stack the appropriate buffs.
@@DoomWolfOfficial the poison scales really well with occult affinity for some reason. Even better than poison affinity (at arcane 40). Stack things like the winged sword talisman, mushroom crown, the poison something talisman (same effect as crown), etc. and voilla. Oh and endure is supposed to give you a damage reduction buff while active. :) even if you don't make it a video I hope you enjoy the weapon.
Going through the ruins works just fine for radahn but i think you need to at least get to erdtree gazing hill grace thats what ive found gets it to work
The deathbirds you hate have the red and blue tearstone rings you used in dark souls 1. Blue in limgrave and red in scenic isle. I dont remember what they are called by actual name.

If you had said that this weapon was from a mod, I‘d have believed it. Never seen it in my life, or I have at least forgotten it, since I know I killed that bird at least twice. I wonder how it would do in PvP?
It does look like the kind of thing you'd see in a mod doesn't it. I feel like that's because there aren't any other attacks like it save for morgotts sword call _sort of_ Also the blue and black coloration makes it look out of place because so few enemies use death sorceries
I have never once seen this weapon used in any video (I don't pvp but equally haven't seen people complain about it), and prior to this I had no idea how strong it was lmao
I've thought about it. IIRC you are required to sit at the grace after morgott, which would force an interaction with her. wrong warping to Farum would skip Mountaintops and thus fire giant. it would also be RL1, which I've already done. but who knows!
Is there a trick to get Radan to randomly shoot his first shot in the distance and then run at you? He doesn't stop shooting at me with some variant until I'm up in his face! 🤔
@Doom Wolf Fair, but at least you won't have to cheat it in, since you can get to Roundtable without killing anything, and get the stats by baiting a Night Rider off a bridge
A run with only gravity spells would be cool. Might be to easy though. I feel so bad for Godrick, he just didn’t do anything in that run or most runs lol
it's an int weapon so it may not fit given its 20 dex and 18 int req the dex hairloom Millicents prothsesis Marika scarseal/soreseal and int hairloom may help
It was crazy fun for the Ash of War, not sure how good the actual spear part is haha as far as fitting it into a faith strength built, the weapon is focused on Dex and Int, so it might be tough. Id recommend the same that Thanakoto said!
Pretty sure you also could of thrown down Terra for more damage. It's not an attack so I don't _think_ it would of broken the rules about only using Spear Call.
That's the grey territory, I try not to use any buffs in these runs usually (I don't remember what I did in this one) just to see what the weapon/ability itself can do ya know
I am actually doing the same run and you can easily cheese the death rite bird to get the deaths poker, that weapon alone is BUSTED. So yeah, OP. You could also do just ghostflame in general bc I forgot some spells don’t drop from deathbirds
I'm just pointing this out but you can also start the Festival of stars by talking to Ronnie I found this out for my first playthrough also I was Unga Bunga brain because I was a strength build
I always try to do the run without the buffs, mostly because it's not the thing i'm using (but like in the madness run I did use howl of shabriri because it fit). Otherwise anything could work jsut because big damage numbers haha
ofc i like seluwis look at that guy he looks nice gives good stuff, lets you progress in the dung eater storyline ( which is the best ingame) and he even has his own animation when u talk to him.

ahhhh I also had an issue with dodging his melee attacks, but I found much more luck boosting straight up or dropping out of the sky when he went for them. maybe a better booster would have worked though idk

You should do a cat run where you cant die more than 9 times or you reset the run and you can only use claw weapons/incants and bite incants

About the festival: You start it by resting at any site of grace in altus.

Could you do a Crimson Flask-Less run?
You could use regen-on-kill weapons for mobs, passive regen and spells for bosses
Something like this may or may not be in the near future ☺️

One of my favourute weapons in the game. I ran this on a dex int build and switched between that and another busted weapon, Deaths Poker

If you had said that this weapon was from a mod, I‘d have believed it. Never seen it in my life, or I have at least forgotten it, since I know I killed that bird at least twice.

It does look like the kind of thing you'd see in a mod doesn't it. I feel like that's because there aren't any other attacks like it save for morgotts sword call _sort of_
Also the blue and black coloration makes it look out of place because so few enemies use death sorceries

I haven't watched the video yet but the answer is yes, yes you can beat Elden Ring with the spearcall ritual it is insanely broken in pvp and pve.
I have never once seen this weapon used in any video (I don't pvp but equally haven't seen people complain about it), and prior to this I had no idea how strong it was lmao

I've thought about it. IIRC you are required to sit at the grace after morgott, which would force an interaction with her. wrong warping to Farum would skip Mountaintops and thus fire giant.

yeah, ride away from him right at the start until he disappears, wait a couple seconds, then ride towards him. it skips the bow phase at the beginning

as far as fitting it into a faith strength built, the weapon is focused on Dex and Int, so it might be tough. Id recommend the same that Thanakoto said!

You could get a friend to drop one for you, but in this specific case this could probably be done in NG+, it would just be a little harder haha
Pretty sure you also could of thrown down Terra for more damage. It's not an attack so I don't _think_ it would of broken the rules about only using Spear Call.

I am actually doing the same run and you can easily cheese the death rite bird to get the deaths poker, that weapon alone is BUSTED. So yeah, OP. You could also do just ghostflame in general bc I forgot some spells don’t drop from deathbirds

I always try to do the run without the buffs, mostly because it's not the thing i'm using (but like in the madness run I did use howl of shabriri because it fit). Otherwise anything could work jsut because big damage numbers haha
yeah buffs in elden ring are soo busted that they can make anything good

I actually didn't use stargazer, just made an off hand remark about needing it earlier than when I found it lol

ahhhh I also had an issue with dodging his melee attacks, but I found much more luck boosting straight up or dropping out of the sky when he went for them. maybe a better booster would have worked though idk
