It couldn't have been easier using your ladder as a support. I received the new pistons for the trunk and once I saw how you raise the U bracket with a screwdriver, they popped off and the new ones popped on perfectly. I got the OEM ones that were a little more expensive, and they work like a charm. Thanks a lot.
I just got my dad's 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour in Nov 2020 and those lift supports definitely needed to be replaced. I replaced them both myself "successfully" thanks to this video. I use quotes because I got attacked by the ladder proping the trunk up and also ended up hitting myself in the face with one of the lift supports.
Thank you for this video because the instructions on the package did not help! I replaced mine within 10 mins after watching yours. My hood also went out and I wasnt going to go through the trouble until I realized how easy this is! Guess who is going to the auto part store to get the hood ones now?! Yep this person!!!
Great video! Ordered mine through your link (hopefully its an affiliate) as a small thank you and looking forward to installing it myself! Dealer was quoting me 279!
Thanks for the video - it was an easy change. Also worth noting that the originals have a right and left designation (at least on my 2015). It doesn't matter - that's for the factory robots.
When I saw you started this with propping the hatch with a 2X4, I knew what was going to happen because I made the same mistake a thousand years ago when I was younger. What was used back then was vise grips on the shock. While that works for the first one, you don't want to scratch up the new one that you just replaced. The idea was that the hatch should be able to be held up with one new shock and it worked on a '74 Pinto. This is NOT true on the Crosstour. That hatch lid is way too heavy. So thanks for the ladder trick, it does work much better than the 2X4.
Yeah, live and learn on that one! It's really best if you can have another person hold it up, since it doesn't really take that long to switch them out. But not everyone is going to have another person with them.
you put the hood lift supports on upside down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and when you put the supports on you don't have to lift the tabs up with the screwdriver. they will just pop on. you only have to lift the tab up when taking them off.
After watching this I'm not so happy... because I bought my 2013 tour brand new and these struts didn't last long at all! The hood will not stay open. I have to lift the rear hatch up the entire way or it will fall down. I'm going to buy the same brand as you got. I dont trust the stabilus brand the car came with its a red flag! They shouldn't fail so quickly with only 25k miles!!!!
I wasn’t expect to full laugh in a tutorial video in the first 5 seconds 😂
You are a lifesaver! Installed my supports on my Crosstour today. Easy peas! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

...but you did it! Call it a win! 😁
We took our Yukon in to have that repaired back in the day. Can’t believe how easy that was!!
I can’t believe how easy that was. I took mine in when I had that problem. I could have saved some money. Next time I’m doing it myself.

Thank you for that!
You're amazing! Thanks for this video!! I'm going to do mine next week. She has the same color Crosstour as me too!! ❤❤❤

Great vid! Yours was better than than the previous 3 that I watched!
Glad to hear it! Thanks!
If you have a pair of vice grips, slap those on, a lot safer than a stick.
Nicely done!
You are hilarious. Keep up the good work!
Very helpful thank you so much
Thanks sis, I'll right on it.
You're the best!
You're a keeper!
Good job!
Same thing happened to me only I broke my neck and had to pay for the labor 😞
Got one in the same color.

Doesn’t look like it matters but you put the hood struts on upside down compared to the originals..
😂 Legit what happened to me today
I was scared you are going to pock those hands.

Well, it's a couple years later now and they're still working just fine.
