Wish she'd shut up though. Sycophantic questions that they've barely any interest. However the live sound is always spot on and the general production is great. I am a fan of the KEXP live sessions but the host is typically annoying muso fodder.
tired of reading this same comment on every artist on youtube. but for once i agree. this is in my opinion one if not THE best band that emerged with the 2000 post punk and garage revival yet very few people knows them.
@@El-Gucher Exactly. There's some people who are really into indie music that know of them but I still don't consider them as well known as bands like Wilco or My Morning Jacket. BRMC are underrated. Another band is Supergrass.
I just discovered the BRMC, literally, 2 weeks ago. I caught their "live in Paris" show on Paladia. I am a 43 year old, seasoned, rock listener and I am completely taken by this band. I feel guilty for not knowing these guys existed. The songs in this set nourish my soul.
Brad Sauvageau I learned about these guys watching the documentary "Dig". If you haven't seen it, you are in for a treat. I'm still finding great bands like these guys despite the major record labels that bury their music. Thank god for the internet. Great comment and I know exactly how you feel my friend.
+Brad Sauvageau Enjoy the ride, you will discover new things in all of their songs every day. Luckily for you, there are a lot of albums still to discover too, each one of them amazing. I would really advise to go see them live, saw them last month play an almost 3 hour set, blown away each time. Best band of our times.
+Brad Sauvageau Listen, I am 48. It takes a while because, at least in my case, I have other things going on. Personally, the longer some of these bands have been around, the more fun it is for me to go back and listen to their journey. Plus it means more songs that have sounds I enjoy.
Leadoff song "Let The Day Begin" is a cover of a song by the Call from their 1989 album of the same name. Songwriter and lead vocalist for the Call was Michael Been, father of BRMC bassist and co-lead vocalist Robert Been, who is Michael's son. BRMC added this song to their set (and 2013 album " Spectre At The Feast") as a tribute to Michael Been, who died of a heart attack at age 60 in 2010 while on tour with BRMC as a sound tech for them.
It's really cool of KEXP to have released this in BRMC's trademark black and white. I don't think I've ever seen them do something similar to any other band which kind of makes this band the most special one to have appeared on this amazing channel.
I bought this CD when it came out. Not a bad song on it! They should be bigger than they are, Shameful people don't recognize talent when they hear it😅
I've seen some of the best bands & performances on KEXP. Thank you for this one. Viewing this made 2020 a much better year for me. EDIT: I scanned the comments & found mine twice. What caused that? I deleted, redid comment & it posted twice again. Whatever! I'm not gonna miss Spread Your Love.
My fav genre of music,"grunge"has taken another blow with the loss of Chris Connell.Thank God we still got these guys. All you indie fans-you have Stone Roses-happy Mondays-blur-Inspiral Carpets-the verve We have Pearl Jam- black motorcycle club-sonic youth
BRMC isn't grunge. Technically, neither is Sonic Youth, although they did play a big role in the development of grunge, but so did Neil Young and he's technically not grunge, either. Pearl Jam is, though. However, you forgot about Alice in Chains. They still count, even if Layne is dead, since they still sound just as great as ever with William DuVall on lead vocals. Foo Fighters are grunge, too, even if they aren't quite as "grunge-y" as Nirvana was.
This the definition of a BAND. Robert, Peter, and Leah equally trade off their talents. Peter and Robert switch vocals and guitar and bass is not common. These guys are so talented it makes me sick. I wish I could do what they do. I've seen them 5 times live. Even with the diffuclties withing the band with Robert and Leah they have just done an unbelievable job in keeping the band alive. Of course Peter has been a focus for me since his Brian Jonestown days. I emulate him in so many ways. Thank you for all that you guys do.
The first track if anyone had a clue would know is a COVER VERSION of a song by the CALL made in the 80's so hey maybe that's where U2 got their inspiration! :)
I don’t wanna dismiss how Great this Band is… but… A bit of Bono tone in the Voice… and Tones of Edge… But different… I don’t wanna Piss anybody off… It’s Beautiful…
Leaha(?) name might be wrong, but she is amazing. Listen, even Neil peart doesn't necessarily exclude warmth behind the kit, but he is focused, as is Leaha, and sorry if I miss spelled.
Yup. Funny what a way to wake up @ 3:47pm Eastern time. Let the day start. Freezing or nawt! Leah so serious behind that trap. Go ahead with your bad self!
KEXP exemplifies, in every way, the personality, purpose and spirit of what a radio station should be.
Well said. Its boss aint it!
Same for Twin Cities' 83.9 The Current
Brmc are better than both of them so reckon you got the better end of the deal
I agree, and I Iive in the UK. Always superb production. Better than kcrw or whatever they are called.
Wish she'd shut up though. Sycophantic questions that they've barely any interest. However the live sound is always spot on and the general production is great. I am a fan of the KEXP live sessions but the host is typically annoying muso fodder.
One of the most underrated bands of all time.
There's that TH-cam phenomenon again. "underrated"
@@lennycook206 The truth! lol

I raised my sons on Zep and Aerosmith and they turned me on to these guys. Seems fair. Thanks boys.
Then I think your sons learned the lesson perfectly.
Consider yourself overpaid 😊
You reap what you sow.. amazing

This band kills it! Amazing that 3 people can make this much noise
Nothing like BRMC. Saw them in the early 2000s and have been a fan ever since. Straight ahead rock. No bullshit.
Wow ! Now its 20 years loving this band !! XD

Oh my god, the performance of 'Lullaby' at the end was absolutely spellbinding. Unbelievable guitarwork, Mr Hayes.

It's crazy how Peter seems shy. He speak with such a quiet / calm voice.
Awesome live. The Black & White are something suit B.R.M.C so well !
Peter is a true gentleman in all sense of the word....
What a great cover of Let The Day Begin. Love when a cover reminds you how great a forgotten original was too.
These guys are my Guitar Idols. They do everything just the way I want to play. Leah is doing AWESOME
