These people in Nevada have a fascination with sexual behavior. Look at their frivolous state laws. This here is more of a sexual harassment case than applying for a job. What does fleet mechanical work have to do with sexual behavior? That’s why they ask for a background check and you need a permit. This is very disrespectful and disturbing not sure why this isn’t seen like a predatory behavior?

Thank you so much for this story. I'm 41 now but when I was in my mid twenties I applied to a few cities in California to be a police officer and once to be a Helicopter Mechanic and I never got selected because I couldn't pass the polygraph test. I have a clean record and I still think I would have been a great police officer if the polygraph test wasn't in the way. When I failed the polygraph for San Bernardino County Sheriffs department, they called me back six months later and offered me the job because they couldn't find anyone else. When I told them I couldn't pass the poly they said, "Oh don't worry, we're going to send you to a private company instead of the county polygraphers. The private ones are easier to pass." I took the poly with the private company and passed but I declined the job because they wouldn't raise the pay rate. It was very eye opening and I finally understood why cities have such a hard time filling those positions. I think these policies are endangering the safety of police officers and it needs to change.

Same here. Serving multiple deployments for the military and coming back home trying for many police departments and always getting turned down because of the polygraph, I told them everything in my background and they told me it was all very minor, however they said I am still not telling everything according to the tests.

This employment process is awful. I was shocked by the questions asked. Whoever asked him should reflect on whether they've ever engaged in such actions. How can a regular person even conceive of such behaviors? It's absurd, and the examiner responsible should be evaluated and possibly dismissed from their position.
I hope he can find a better job than this government job.

Those questions were extremely bizarre and ridiculous. There are certainly better questions to ask recruits to determine if someone is a Pedophile, sexual predator, or has been involved in criminal activity at some point in their lives. And, if Polygraph testing is inaccurate at least 20% of the time, they should not even be used to determine if someone is suitable & qualified for a job.

Why would someone have such questions? The reading is in the wall.

I can vouche for this weird process. I was asked the same type of weird questions at two different departments. I passed the poly at one and failed the other. I was told my results were inconclusive at the department I failed at. I remember being very weired out and uncomfortable being asked sexualltly explicit questions going all the way back to grade school. I went on a ride along and the officer I was with admitted he knew several fellow officers who lied on the polygraph and still passed.

Sick clowns are deceptive muffin heads. Like Mr Hughes. Principle at a high school vegas trying to get into the pants of school girls. Did ya hear about him? Nah. He is black. So not much media coverage on that. He escaped conviction and is in Texas now. So much messed up crap going on in this country it is un fathom able. Let their true colors show. Asking questions will only make them hide it. This guy was going for a vehicle maintenance job at the police station. No interaction with children necessary. Why ask these questions. As well as, he has a good record. That means he is level headed. There are many other character points, that can be pointed out if the correct person analyzes the individuals body language, attitude, etc. but you think we should rely upon these questionarres and the imperfect under qualified hiring managers, to pass judgement?? Homie dont play that.
